Fraud!!! Lasers dont work!!!!
These people are a rip off! Do not go their lasers are uneffective and don't work. They bind you in a contract, lie tell you what you want to hear, anything to get you to sign the contract, and then once you've signed regardless of if you dont get any results they dont refund you. PLEASE BE AWARE. I've paid $5, 000 and not gotten any resutls spent countless hours of my time with them, and suffered pain, and not gotten any results. Does anyone know how I can get legally get my money back? I think these people should be sued and shut down, so they can not fraud more people.

Poor service/no refund
I purchased a hair removal package from the Newport News, Va location, which consist on 6 treatments. I have been trying for about 2 weeks to make an appt for my 3rd treatment and can't seem to get anyone to return my phone calls. On the 5th attempt, someone did answer the phone and I realized it was switched to the Virginia Beach location (about an hour away). I was told the office in which I had signed up to go to has been closed down and I would have to drive an hour out of my way to another location to finish my treatments. When I explained of the inconvenience that was for me and asked for a refund for my remaining treatments, I was told that there will be no refunds. I was never informed of their decision to close the Newport News facility. If so, I would have made sure I received the treatments in which I had paid for. I have called over and over to try to reach the regional manager and was told she would call me back in 24 hrs, and still I haven't received any calls from her or anyone else for that matter. I guess it doesn't pay to buy a service that could take months to complete since they could close up shop and you'll never get what you paid for. I should have seen this coming when some of their staff had left and when to a different location. This was months ago and this tells me they knew this and still didn't disclose the closing and yet took my money! I want my REFUND!

Hard Sale -- even Hard to CANCEL!
I signed up for a drawing at Denver PRIDE with American Laser Centers. I received a call a week later saying I had "won" 3rd place, a $300 gift certificate. I was thrilled, as I was interested in having the hair on my back professionally removed. Maggie (not her real name), the manager was supposed to have called me the day before about my appt. she called just a couple hours before.
I met her anyway at my appt. June 29th when she proceeded to interview/sell me on Laser hair removal. The price for a man's tee shirt back hair removal was $7000. That was for 6 sessions/2 years. In addition, there was an additional charge of $35/session for shaving my back. Needless to say I was shocked at the high price of laser hair removal.
I balked at such a high price, and said that was more than I had in mind, AND BTW didn't I WIN something??!!
That's when she started working her MAGIC!
She started the discounting for the $300 I had won, an additional $100 (for what, I'm not sure)
Their monthly "special" (which btw expired the very next day, of course...) was the biggest discount of all, a BOGO!
A "moving -- move" discount, as they were in a new office --- lucky me, I thought!
Wow, was it my lucky day, with ALL of these discounts I was down to $2348!!
I love a good deal and this sure sounded like one to me. Maggie went to CU ( so did my partner, and we live in Boulder) she graduated with a degree in Psychology...
She said she would be sure I got the "better" laser machine on all my appts. We became quick BFF's. Then she dropped the little detail about "shaving". If they had to shave my back, it was an additional $35/session. I was ready to walk out, when she said: " why don't I throw in some micro-derm abrasion treatments for you too??" And I'll discount the shaving for you too. All for a grand total of $2500 flat, no tax, that's it.
That was way more money that I thought I would ever spend, on "winning $300" But I spotted an out, in case my buyers remorse was too great.
I agreed, then she tried to get me to have my first Laser Hair Removal appt right then and there!
Thank goodness, I said NO!
The caveat on the contract reads: IF NO TREATMENTS ARE PERFORMED UNDER THIS AGREEMENT, A REFUND WILL BE ISSUED AFTER MY WRITTEN REQUEST.
The next day, I did have second thoughts about my purchase. I called Maggie and told her I had to cancel for personal financial reasons. She said to mail her a request in writing or email it to her (a PDF signed) I did both.
EIGHT days later, Maggie called me back and said she had to have one of their forms completed by me and returned back to her.
That is when she told me it would take SIX TO EIGHT WEEKS for me to get my refund back!
I told her that was just unacceptable business practice, and I wanted my money back right away. Nothing happened, then I received a call from the Regional Manager, who tried to get me to keep my purchase. Then when that did not work, she told me it had to go through their Legal Dept. and would take 6 - 8 weeks for me to get my money.
If this kind of business practice is legal, I would like to talk to my Representative in Congress Jared Polis about this. This is so unfair, and unethical to keep someone else's money like this.
I would warn everyone to stay away from American Laser Centers, they are the worse kind of business you want to be involved with.

No refund- Bad service
I initially purchased a package for hair removal for my lower legs, underarm and bikini. and after a day, i told them i dont want my bikini anymore so if they can refund my money. Instead the manager, Nikki, offered me a service, called Veloshape. It sounded pretty good. so i went in and did it. after 1 treatment, i did with this one girl, who i didnt know was brand new, wasnt trained at all- well mind you i have never done veloshape in my whole life, so i dont know how it feels or what are the procedures, anyways, she did my treatment and it burns so bad it hurts! i did not complain cuz accdg to the girl, its normal since i didnt drink enough water. The next treatment, i came in with a different girl. she was very nice, and did all the things i needed to sign and took my weight and my measurements and made sure i signed a consent. I was amazed! i said, do i have to do this before treatment? she said ya why? i said the other lady who did my 1st one never did any of this, she said Who? i said the girl named Ann. She said, her? she hasnt been trained yet! i was so mad! so i called the corporate and complained about it. Next thing you know the lady who treated me very well, and the veloshape was no pain at all- was fired. i cannot believe it! she was saying that they already been having some misunderstandings from the manager since the Manager, nikki doesnt really know what shes doing. So i guess when nikki found out that i complained about the services i got from ann, (which she hired) she fired this one girl that knows what shes doing so no one can ever tell Nikki whats the right thing to do. anyways, so ive been calling them to refund my money since i got a really crappy service from the veloshape. ofcourse, they wouldnt refund the money. ive been calling even the regional manager wouldnt call me back. Oh and another thing i had an incident when i called the corporate and filed a complaint for nikki and ann, one day when i had an appt for my legs, nikki called me that i need to cancel my appt due to "there are no nurses avail" i was like u mean u guys are closed? she said "no, we dont have nurses" and the girl that always does my treatment? where is she, i asked. She said "Shes on vacation". so i said ok ill call you back cuz i dont know when can i reschedule, i didnt tell her to go ahead and cancel but she did anyways, so i cant get another appt. so i called this nurse that usually does my treatments, i asked her if shes going to be there on my appt, she said "YES I am!" I SAID WELL NIKKI JUST CANCELLED ME CUZ SHE SAID UR ON VACATION" i was so mad, so i went there anyways for my appt and nikki wasnt there. what a bitch. she cancelled me for no reason. Thanks a lot.

Non-Refundable
They are very expensive, they will not refund your money no matter what the circumstance. They tell you to pay the minimum payment until your refund goes through, and if you dispute the credit card charges it delays your refund process. They are pretty much forcing you to pay them. They are all very rude to talk to and are liars. They are very sneaky and cannot be trusted.

These centers should be closed for good.The company is just a fraud and they have deceptive practices, i took my daughter at the age of 12-13 and the office manager the by name Tammy then promised us that the age is propper and they would get rid of the hair in 5 sessions if not she offered another 2 years free of gharg that i accepted that and paid close to 4, 000 thousand dollors.It was all lies becaouse they were not using the propper machine for romoving the hair, getting in touch with them was almost impossible and make the story very short after 4 years of comming and going for my daughter and the time and the pain almost all the hair are still there and even though we had couple of sessions left we stop going there and we had to start with another co that i paid again about 2, 000 thousand dollors, now i would like to know who is responssible for all the moner i lost and no result what so ever?. I will not let this go without fight and i want atleast half of my moner back so even if i have to go to Daily Breeze or any other sources to reavel their fraud i wont stop doing that, so people make sure that you will not even get close to American Laser Center and beaware . Unprofessional
I spent 400 at this place. Hair removal upper lip and it did not work. Was told I would not be issued a refund despiste the fact I had adverse effects to the laser. Then after traveling to my local clinic 10 minutes away. They call to tell me that my next appointment is cancelled due to this clinic clsing. The next clinic a mere 44 miles 56 minutes away. The tell me how equsite their clinic is yet I did not get my post treatment lotion until 3 mos. into services. They were very unprofessional and my appoinment was never taken on time. They told me that even though I now had to travel I still could not get a refund. DO NOT DO IT! It is a waste of money and they are ***!!!

bad reaction, bad procedure
ALC is like a drive through restaurant for cosmetic procedures. I went in on a friday to have dermal fill on my cheeks, which I have had before. The result is supposed to be fuller rounded cheek bones. I was injected and now one side of my face is covered in blisters, peeling, balck and blue and purple after one week. I do not have higher cheek bone look, instead my face just looks fat!!! I called their customer service dept. and was told to go in for photographs. I asked to speak to a Dr. who was not available. Apparently they have one Dr. that is the top of the umbrella for all thier locations and is never seen. I also asked to speak to the director of the location i went to and she had JUST STEPPED OUT. Then their was discussion about how I may have an alergy to some food. right, one that affected only one side of my face. Next they asked if I was prone to cold sores. I am not. All was aimed at seeming to be my fault!! Beware, their prices may be good but you are getting what you pay for. No refund offered.

Velasmooth /amerismooth
I received 10 velasmooth/amerismooth treatments and not only was there zero improvement in my cellulite but i now have strange horizontal lines and indents that were never there before. I am sure the velasmooth machine caused it even tho AL refuses to admit it and of course no refund. I am absolutely devastated that i paid that kind of money just to make my thighs worse than ever. Has anyone else heard of anything like this? Any info would help. Thank you.
