No results, no refund
Back in January I visited the Huebner Rd. Center in San Antonio, Tx for a free consultation. At that time the center manager, Mariana Luna, assured and convinced me that I would see wonderful results from the Foto Facial, Skin Tightening, and Microdermabrasion for fine lines and large pores. I stupidly signed up for 5 treatments each at a cost of $1, 700. (Stupid, stupid!!!)
After 3 treatments each and several expensive potions later, I have seen no reduction in fine lines at all, and in fact, my pores are larger than before. On 4/29/08 I spoke to Mariana to request a refund. She said that I would have to talk to Angelica from corporate and that she would contact me within the week. I got no response. After more phone calls and many e-mails to American Laser, on 5/20/08, Angelica finally called me. Her response was that since these procedures would regularly cost $1, 100 each, a total of $3, 300, and that I was only charged $1, 700, they could not give me a refund. She said my only recourse was to start over.
At any rate, Mariana called and said that we could start over and that we would continue for as long as it took. She PROMISED that I WOULD see results, if I would give them another chance. She said she would do the treatments herself, if necessary.
I see no recourse at this point other than to start over and to continue with the treatments. I have no faith in these procedures, but I'm certainly not going to just let they get away with my money.
At present, I am a VERY DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER. I really think they are a bunch of CROOKS!!!

Contract Cancellation fee
I "won" a bogus $300 credit toward a service at a local event in FL. Laser Center rep called and told me to come in on Saturday to get an extra $100 off a service, but I had to go in that day or else it was void. 5 hours after agreeing to financing for $2200 for 60 months, I found that I was not able to commit to the contract and emailed the clinic manager my issue - no reply. On Monday, I left 2 messages, with no return call. Tuesday, I spoke to someone who said the manager would call me back. She didn't. I called again at 5 pm and they told me to come in Wednesday at 6:30 to discuss my issue. Wednesday, the manager told me she had received my email, but couldn't call or write me back because her regional manager was there, which makes no sense. After finding that there was no way I could afford their services I said I wanted to cancel my contract (at this time, this falls within the 3 day no-fault cancellation). The manager tells me I need to pay 10% of my amount financed ($220) because that's what Care Credit(financing company) charges them for cancellations and that this is a common policy among all health/beauty clinics. What a lie! I called Care Credit myself and they told me they had no such policy! So the manager, neglected to contact me in a timely manner, she LIED to me, and never gave me any documentation of this policy, nor did she mention/warn that this is their policy, even when I had asked about it to begin with!
I am fighting this by going straight to corporate, and filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau of America. I refuse to pay anything to this con artist of a compnay, especially because no services were rendered! This is wrong and illegal in so many ways, and I advise anyone and everyone to steer clear of this company. Protect yourselves!

Canceling a contract
I recently went in for a free consultation (because I had won a 300 certificate in a drawing)... I ended up signing a contract for 3000 dollars in laser hair removal. I was told i was ''taking out a loan''- when it was actually A Credit Card... As soon as I left I realized that I could not make the payment the coming month (laps of judgment) so i went back in to ask them if I could get out of my contract-2hrs after singing this contract they would not let me out of it. They said they had to charge 15% of the total fee for breaching the contract with the bank who I took the ''loan''(credit card) out with. So i called Care credit and they said they DO NOT CHARGE American Laser for a refund. After being lied to, they wouldn't return my phone calls w/in 3days There is Rescission Law... you have three days to reverse your contract(buyers remorse) if you haven't had a treatment-and if you did not approach them... meaning you didn't come in for a consultation on your own... they called, emailed, etc. So I went in twice during these three days and I was told they couldn't do anything, that corp. would contact me. - Nope, in the end I ended up paying the 15%..Basically these people will rope you in, sell it to you, and lie to you while(for lack of better words) screw you.

Bad business practice!
American Laser Centers are liars. They promise that they can get rid of hair and the charge too much money. I know this because we share an office with them and I hear how they talk to their patients. I have said to them that they are not being truthful with there claims. Also they are always forcefully pushing to buy things that they do not need. They sell patients services that they should not get.

Don't go there
American Laser Centres are the most deceptive and unethical business I have ever encountered. The company's only goal is to sell packages of laser hair removal treatments, botox, and any other skin treatments they can. I tried to cancel packages the day after I visited their store in Amarillo. I was told they don't give refunds even when you haven't even started treatments. Have called, written complaints, letters and contacted corporate office. No luck! Stay far away from this company - far far away. Go to www.complaintsboard.com to see the thousands of negative complaints about ALC!

Fragulant Credit Charges
My friend went into American Laser Center on 2/18/08. She called me and asked if I could be a cosigner for this procedure she wanted to get done. First of all let me just say that Crystal at American Laser Center in Mesa AZ, told my friend that she could RETURN this NO QUESTIONS ASKED if no services were rendered within the first 30 days. Lisa put me on the phone with Crystal and then she connected me to a GE Carecredit(that's the creditor they use) representative and after running my credit they told me that the request was denied, I got back on the phone with Crystal and she said that this sometimes happens and that she'd call back and get it approved. She called me back later that day and said everything went through, so I thought everything was fine. Well about a week later when I went to get my mail I was very SHOCKED to see TWO different credit cards opened in my name. I called Carecredit and closed the one account that had a zero balance and the other one they told me that I was the main account holder, instead of the cosigner like I should of been. I asked them who opened this account and they couldn't give me a straight answer. I NEVER AUTHORIZED this credit card to be opened, I don't even know how it was opened, because Crystal never even brought this up as an option, we never discussed it AT ALL and even if she did propose this as an option I would of immediately declined. She said at the end of March that it would be resolved in the first week in April, nothing was resolved, I then called her numerous times and finally went into the store the second week in April and she then told me it would take 14 working days to see the refund. The 14th working day was on 4/17/08 or 4/18/08 and nothing was resolved. Meanwhile throughout this process GE MONEY has been calling me a least 3 to 4 times a week to make a payment and I notified them each time that this account was opened illegally without my authorization and that I'm not making any payments. When I tried calling GE MONEY and finally get through to a representative they told me that I could dispute it, they then mailed me a dispute letter and I mailed it back on 4/28/08. I tried calling American Laser Centers but all you get is a recording to leave a mesg and I've left 4 messages and they called me back after the first messages and I was at work and couldn't answer the phone and that's why I had to call back to the voicemail system again that they have set up, I can't get a live person to talk to. It is clear to me that American Laser Centers has no ethics at all and I would advise anyone thinking about using them to reconsider. I can't for the life of me understand how this company is still in business if they treat all there customers this way, and I'm not the only one with complaints againgst them. All I was is a REFUND and to close my account and no one can give me an answer.

Bad Customer Service - No one to speak with
American Laser Centers has a terrible Customer Service Department. Calls are greeted with a recording and calls not returned for several days. The "only" customer service I spoke with was the same one every time I called the corporate offices. She was very good at citing corporate policy over and over but not able to or unwilling to get me to a supervisor or manager. She insisted she was the only one to speak with and that no one could help me. I've been after a resolution to a cancelled service refund for three months!
I feel people are manipulated to "sign up" - in my case invited to a gathering and fed hors d'ouvers and wine and told they can sign up and come in later for treatment discussions. I was never called, I never went back to the center, I didn't get any treatment and had to cancel due to a real hardship. I lost my job.
If you are considering going to American Laser Centers for any treatment, make sure you read everything - even if they tell you it is all "standard". It is not! AND you will find you have no recourse and no one to help you. They will, however, cite you their company policy over and over.
You might also check their website and see that there is no way to speak with any corporate officer. AND - they refuse to connect you with anyone but the Customer Service Department. That's a joke! During the course of life I've had a few conflicts with stores or companies about goods and services, but never have I been stonewalled when trying to resolve an issue.

False Claims, No Refund
I became a customer of American Laser Centers in New York City (928 Broadway, NY, NY) through their accusition of a clinic I was going to called Advanced Laser. Once my contract from Advanced Laser was over, American Laser employees manipulated me into signing up for another package with them for $1249. They assured me of their money back guarantee if there were no results. At time of signing up for a second package with them, I expressed my concern that perhaps I will not get any further hair reduction in the areas being worked on. However, they were very convinced that another package would get rid of the remaining hairs and that they had seen 100% hair reduction. I contiuned with the treatments for about 11 months and there was absolutely zero improvement! Any improvement I saw was through the clinic they purchased. However, the lasers and staff had changed, which are all mediocre. They hire young girls from Clinique counters and such, who know nothing about handling lasers.
In November of 2007 I expressed my dissatisfaction and asked for my money back. I stopped all treatmetns at this time. I was also concerned that all these laser treatments were causing other health problems, which may or may not be related to laser treatments.
They took pictures of the area with a digital camera (which does not show the hair, since mine is fine and dark) and submittted it to their headquarters with my complaint. No one ever responded to this compalint even though I called and called numerous times. I finally demanded to speak to their CEO which is when someone finally called me back. Her name is Karina Rodriguez. At first she told me that I would get my refund. But when the refund never arrived, I called back again dozesn of times before I got a call back. This time she claims she never told me that I would get a refund and that the pictures show I had improvement.
I explained to her 1. that the digital camera used does not show what is seen with the naked eye (the camera makes it look better than what it is) 2. that any improvment I had was when I was with the clinic they acquired 3. that ALC never took before pictures so she had nothing to compare it to.
In March they requested I go back to ALC on Broadway to have pictures taken again. Again, with a plain digital camera, they took pictures that do not capture the fine hair. They called me again stating I can not get a refund because they don't see the hair in the pictures. Since I'm not a man, my hair was never thick enough to be seen on camera. Now they will not respond to my phone calls or emails. I am looking into a class action las suit against ALC. They really need to be put out of business. I am also in the process of reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. I wish I had never signed up with them.

Unauthorized charge
American Laser made an unauthorized charged my account with Care Credit. I never signed a contract nor did I receive any of the treatments. When I made contact with the manager Melissa at this particular location she said there would be no problem that she will contact the corporate office and have my account refunded, this was of course only after I told her that this was a fraudulent act upon American Laser because they have no documentation with my signature authorizing them to charge me for any service.
Well it is now four months and I am still making payments to the Care Credit account but Care Credit is now looking into the matter for me and I am hoping to get all of my money back.
I have made several attempts to contact Melissa again but I have not received any phone calls back. I will definately not do anymore business with American Laser Centers.

Refuse Refund for canceled service
I "won" a certificate for $300 for services. They called and asked me to come in for a "free" consultation. I was pressured into upgraded services and charged $2700 up front for 5 visits starting on April 11th. I called on March 31st to cancel. I was told I had to come in and sign the cancellation form and there would be a 10% cancellation fee. I told manager could not come in so manager said she would mail the forms to me due to HIPPA. Never did, when I called she said she could do it over the phone. I left my Credit Card number with her. No response for a week then email saying she "wrote it down wrong" and to call her. When I called there was no answer. I called my VISA and hopefully they will get the $ back for me. DON'T GO THERE. WAY over priced and no training per someone that interviewed there.
