Buyer beware
The company runs itself on a pyramid scheme and treats its customers with disrespect. Each employee from the nurse up receives a bonus when the customer purchases. It is very much like a used car lot and just like a used car lot the buyer should be wary. The manager and main nurse (at least in this Central Valley office) see no issue with changing client's appointments, and lying to them about it, to only give time for one treatment area when more were scheduled. This is all done to fit in a new client so that treatment can proceed before the new client changes their mind and asks for a refund. Not that you would ever be allowed a refund by this corporation anyway. You may not be able to get rescheduled for months even when the manager or nurse made this schedule change. The manager additionally continually tells other staff to not worry about giving good treatments, as the client (you) will be coming in several times and it won't matter if you are "cheated" on your treatment. The manager and other staff talk about the clients behind their backs in a disrespectful, racist (especially if the client is Middle Eastern/Indian), and rude manner. If you buy from the company, you are locked into a two year contract and once that contract is signed the staff do not feel the need to give exceptional service until the next time you think about buying. If you are getting good treatments, it is more likely that those treatments will be successful. Unfortunately, the manager and staff at many of these clinics do not truly have your greatest intersts at heart. The manager at this clinic will tell you that her clinic is different from the others that are complained of on this site it is not! BUYER BEWARE!

Laser Hair Removal - Hair not gone, laser burns
Laser Burned my skin in two areas during most recent visit. Also, hairs are supposed to be gone and they are not. Refusing to give refund.

Fraud and Rub
Nightmare!
I have freckles on my face, it got worse and worse. So I decide to get laser treatment. I live in Pleasanton CA, so decide to go to American Laser Center. THe first time I went there, the front desk person tried hard to have me to sign a 10 visit contract for $1100. I was told there were two ladies providing laser treatment in this center. There was one lady there that day, so I went to talk to her, I was not very pleased with her answer and attitude, so I told the front desk that I changed my mind and decided not to go through the treatment. She said that you already signed paper; I was shocked that I was not out of their office yet, I should be allowed to change my mind. She said that the other lady was good, but the other lady only work during the day, I told her that I only could do it after work. So she said no problem, she said that I could make an appointment for you in an evening with the other lady. Just because I wanted the treatment really bad, I believed her. After this, she said that you had to apply for a credit card with MedCHoiceFinancial, I told her that I did not need financing, but she said that "you do not have to use it". She made me believed that it was only a normal procedure to get credit checked like the procedure when you are buying a new car. She also said that you could make a plan with us, such as make monthly payment, etc. Therefore, I got their credit card issued by MedChoiceFinancial without realizing that they could charge the credit as they pleased.
When I went to their center for my first appointment, I saw the front desk person was not there, the lady who supposed to treat me was not there. The other lady I did not like was there and kept bragging about her, and tried to persuade me to use her. I refused and she kept calling the front desk person, but the front desk lady never answered the phone. From that moment I knew that I did not trust this place and would not go through laser treatment here. SO I left. After a month, I got a credit card bill from MedCHoiceFinancial, claimed that I owed them $1100. I called the credit card company and explained what happened. The guy who answered my phone was very rude, he basically refused to listen to my complaint, but said that you had to talk to the service provider. Since then, this credit card company kept calling me and asked me to pay the bill, I explained to every single person I talked to, but nobody tried to help me to dispute the charge. I called the American Laser Center main office at 866-590-2047, explained the situation. They said that they would check, same day, they emailed me back saying that I did receive the service and case closed. Now my credit card amount is increasing, I do not know where I can find justice. This contract is 10 laser treatments I even did not know what laser treatment felt like; I did not receive any single treatment but receiving the bill every single month from them. I had a perfect credit score before, but now this could ruin my credit. If you do not want nightmare, stay away from this fraud company

Can NOT Remove Blond Hair
When I first met with American Laser Centers in December 2007, I asked the office manager if their lasers could remove blond hair. She assured me they could. So I signed up for an expensive set of hair removal sessions totaling over 2k to find out two and a half years later that I still have all the same hair I stared with. They will not give me a refund. They have damaged the skin on my face -- I look like I have Michael Jackson disease. Do NOT give this lying company a minute of your time and money or you too could end up with a scars on your face.

Company is a joke
I am a former employee of ALC. Everything you read is true. Several months past, there was a company wide conference call. She works hard for her money was playing in the background. Employees were asked to work on Memorial Day. It was prefaced with "I know all of you have familes you would like to spend the holiday with, but we need all of you to show your heart and come to work. We need to work hard so we can provide a better life for our families." The technicians are working 10 hour days without a lunch. It is against company policy to block off the schedule for 30 minutes for a break. The manager is to clock them out for a 30 minute lunch even if one was not taken. The company only wants your money. Existing clients are cancelled so a sold consult can be treated. Once you are treated you are not eligible for a refund. The turnover rate is sky high due to unrealistic monthly goals. Once your card has been swiped you are no longer of importance. The treatments rarely work. If this helps just one potential client than I have served my purpose.

No Refund Adverse Reaction
I went in for a consultation and was given information about treatments and what to expect. I signed the contract and was given my first laser treatment. I walked out and had a horrible headache, pain in my teeth and sinuses, and burning sensations in my lips. I called the very next day and was completely put through the wringer given all types of names and phone numbers of people supposedly trying to help me. No one helped and now I have some sort of balance I am responsible for because they will NOT rescind my contract. My pain lasted for three days and now I have a bill to pay every month for something I do not want and cannot take. They said all of this must be a coincidence and that there is no way that the treatment could have caused these intense reactions. I will be disputing this claim, reporting them to the better business bureau and any where else I can sue the company for complete negligence. If anyone is reading this and can provide any remedy I would appreciate it.

Former Employee
I am ashamed to say that I am a former employee of American Laser Centers. Everything that the other employees are saying is true; when you work for this company you only get lunch breaks if a client cancels or reschedules their appointment, so if the daily schedule is full, too bad. They also refuse to pay overtime and will not allow you to call in sick, therefore if you do happen to get sick you have to find someone to cover your shift, otherwise you are coming in. Also everything is about sales, the managers force us to upsell to every person that comes through the door, and if you are not selling you get your hours cut and eventually fired.
I urge everyone to STAY AWAY from this company, whether you are looking for a job there or a service. There are other Laser Centers with better reputations out there.
Also, if you see any good comments about them on this site, they are written by the clinic managers who are trying to improve the company's reputation so they can lure in more victims and steal their money.

They LIE about terms of Contract
I purchased a package for Laser hair removal. At the time, Angelica (In Austin Texas) told me that the reason it was expensive was that they totally guaranteed the treatment. According to her, they would continue to treat until all the hair was removed. I noticed that the fine print stated the period covered was only up to 18 months, when I questioned Angelica she said not to worry, that in the case we went over 18 months they would increase the settings but would absolutely honor the "guarantee" . The first treatments were 4 weeks appart, then after the third treatment they said that according to their research, they had to be spaced 6 or even 8 weeks. Things began to go downhill fast, they would setup appointments, give me a card with the time, I would show up and the appointment would be misteriously gone from the system, other times their time and mine did not match, etc etc. I had to suspend it for couple of months while I was on antibiotics and when I showed up they told me that it had been CANCELLED by their corporate office. I called on the "guarantee" and their response was that they didn't know what I was talking about. DO NOT purchase anything from this company!

Contract Hoax
This company makes lose contracts and then screws you over.

Plus...most inefficient office! Don't sign up with this company. Their lasers are cheap-- you'll get terrible results. I have NOTHING good to say about these people.

I got roped into several contracts with this company, only to be told half way through that they wouldn't see me anymore (because of a condition that I had had all along) and that I wouldn't be refunded. Their laser burned me multiple times. Their staff never picks up the phone, you'll never get an appointment...

I've tried to make complaints about these people, but no one seems to respond.
Don't sign up! Don't do it! There are better lasers, better staffs...the number of hours I've spent trying to thwart this company are ridiculous. Avoid American Laser Centers at all costs.
