When I went to American Laser Center in Fort Worth, TX, I was told that in 6 treatments, the hair on my upper lip would be gone. If it came back within the next two years, they said, I could return for free treatments. I've been there 7 times now, and I am still having to shave stubbles off my face every single day.

They (manager Nina) told me to take photographs of my face after 5 days of growth. She said she'd present it to the board. I called a few weeks later to check the status, and she told me that they concluded the hair on my face was "vella hair" a.k.a. baby-fine hair, and that that type of hair can't be removed.

My file was sent to customer service. So I called customer service. I waited over 11 minutes on hold before I was sent to a mailbox to leave a message.

So basically, I spent $500 to get the hair removed THAT THEY SAW BEFOREHAND. I've parted with $500 but not a single hair. How they stay in business is beyond me

I just can't believe how many of you suckers have the same story!! C'mon!!! Did you really think you WON something going in the door with a $300 gc?? It is a marketing deal people... it gets you interested. It's the same as a sale sign in the door at Banana Republic. Just because you are gullible and then sign up for something you cannot afford does not make the business a scam, or dishonest or anything else. GET REAL!! I know for a fact that it states very clearly on the contract that it is non- refundable... SO those of you that managed to be a big enough pain in the a**, consider yourself LUCKY to be expecting one. You are not the victim, you are a consumer with buyer's remorse!!

I used to work for American Laser Centers for about 2 years, until i decided to quit the company due to there "rules" and the way they run things. ALC claims to be the #1 company for laser hair removal, etc, however, when you REALLY research the model of the laser that they use, Syneron (the laser manufactor) says that ALC uses the cheapest machines possible. I would say only 20% of cliental will acheive the results that they are looking for with Laser Hair Removal. Any other procedure they offer there, DOES NOT WORK!!! Trust me i know!! I have dealt with numerous complaints. ALC does NOT offer refunds, you can beg, cry, and plee with them and they will NOT offer you one!!! The company as a whole hires young women (who know nothing about managing a clinic) to run the whole office and they are PRESSURED to sell sell sell!! They have to sell a MINUMUM of 2000/day and 60000/month! If not, GUESS WHAT? Mangers are fired! They will lie and decieve you just to get the sale in (because they know that corporate will NOT grant you a refund!) Please do not go to this company for any treatments! They have the WORST customer service! The only time they are nice to you is when they are swiping your card through, OTHERWISE, forget about it...they wont even acknowladge you when you walk in! This company is a scam!! Trust me!! I USED TO WORK THERE! The regional manager Hannah, is the worst one out of the bunch!

I had an appointment at American Laser Centers in Columbia, MD 3/12/09. When asked about their online ad for a free trial of velashape, it was valued at $250.00 per session they said they don't know why that price is on there, it's actually valued at $500.00. I said I'll do microdermabrasion, they told me about my options and my price $838.

I presented them with a gift certificate $500, they agreed to take it, but I still had a balance of $338 that they wanted now, so I told them I have another gift certificate, that's when they said, oh we have to call our Manager to authenticate the certificate.

They didn't have to authenticate the first one when I had to pay $338 extra, but when I presented a second gift certificate of $500, they started saying they could not fulfill it because the company had closed down a year and a half ago and they wanted a receipt. They wanted to know who gave me the certificates, I gave them the name of the person, she actually got the certificates for referring friends to their centers, but did not use them and gave two to me. There is no expirition date on the Gift certificates and the Manager said I can use them at any other location .

I started with American Laser Centers over 3 years age. I "won" as I use this loosely free money to use toward treatment. At the first meeting I was told I was a perfect candidate by the manager and said it would not be painful like other "lasers". Hogwash. After 6 treatments, I was not seeing any real results. They constanlty change there policies to suit them and the lasers are not used at a high enough power to show any results. I told them to take pictures without shaving and I advised them that I look more like a cancer patient with splotches of hair that I was never advised about as the so called warranty period was about to expire. The warranty is supposed to be for lost hair follicles, but if they were never removed than it is not a true warranty. They will also try to sell you other hair removal packages while you are ther before you realize the treatment does not work!!! I also requested a copy of my file but it was iincomplete and they said they did double passes at almost all my visits but they never did. Only on maybe 3 occasions. I am waiting for the hair to grow back with the splotchiness before I seek an attorney to correct what they have done. I have to wear a long sleeve shirt because of the horrible job.
