Laser hair removal
The Dearborn American Laser Centers management was very kind and helpful...UNTIL I paid for my services. After that I was lied to about the terms of the contract, talked down to, turned away for an apointment, then had another appointment mysteriously cancelled when I called to check on it the day before. I was told in very belittling fashion that they never make mistakes and that I must have cancelled my appointment. I have only been able to get in for one appointment and I saw NO results. In fact looking back- it was totally painless, I wonder if the machine was even turned on. I am currently working with their corporate headquarters to get switched to another location. I have had laser hair removal done in the past at another facility in Taylor with wonderful results by an amazing staff. I should have known better when I was able to negotiate the price from $2000 to $250 that I was not getting a good deal. I will not step foot into the Dearborn American Laser Centers again. Do your research and read your contract carefully before signing.

Crystal Medina & American Laser Centers
March 2008 - had consultation with Crystal Medina @ American Laser Center in Mesa, Arizona. I agreed to procedures and $6, 000.00 was ok'd by Care Credit, payments to be made to GE Money Bank in Orlando, Florida beginning April 2008. My husband was not happy with this and because I was having alot of problems with my back after the surgery and needed medical attention, I decided I could not go ahead with this. I called Care Credit and was told American Laser Centers should never have billed me until the procedures were performed. I called Ms. Medina several times and left my number and email address to no avail. I also went to their place of business and they always told me she was doing a consultation. This has gone on for months. I have been paying Care Credit becuase I didn't want my credit to be affected. I have not had one procedure done, but have paid Care Credit over $1, 000.00. Care Credit said they couldn't credit my account without authorization from American Laser. I have written letters to American Laser, Ms. Medina, called Corporate several times - spoke with Amy, Amber, Ovita and others. Ovita took my Care Credit account number and said she would file a complaint with Ms. Medina's regional manager and would get my refund processed - this was 09/08/08. I also spoke with Amber on 10/05/08 @ 11:18 am at American Laser Corporate, she stated refund was in process and it would take 4-12 weeks. I also spoke to Lisa at corporate on 12/06/08. I spoke to Jennifer and she told me to call customer service ar 877-252-2010 or email them at customer [email protected], which I did and found this site. I have been more than patient and tried everything I can think of to solve this. Not once has anyone called me or emailed me with the status of this situation. Something needs to be done. At this time I cannot afford an attorney. I am writing to Care Credit to see if I can get any results. My email address is [email protected] and my phone number is 435-720-7985.
Thank you,

You're all wrong
i feel so sorry for all of you.
this is a great company, its a FORTUNE 500 company! this company is actually helping YOUR economy (AMERICA) if you really think about it. I'm sorry all of you suffer from buyers remorse, but it's not ALC's faults. you sign a contract and agree to the terms on it. i know i did and i could not be happier. I have referred soooo many ppl to this company and not ONE has had an issue with results or customer service. Also, So what they give you $300 to get you in the door?! who wouldnt want $300 off? this is business and this is how it works everywhere! you give to receive, right? the okemos clinic is fantastic in MI

bad results and custmer service
I have gone to the place in Denver and have never been so upset. On there web site they state that it is pain free, yes on the neck it is but the face wow it its like getting poked by a nail and then some one comes and burns the hole and then they forgot to give me the lotion. My first 6 appointments for a week, a full week my face was red with pimples and I have never had that problem. People at my job make fun of me ever time I’m done with a operation It looks like someone beat me up or some one took a razor after me. Face hurts for a week after as well. So I go in for more treatments after the 6th one and still I have to shave every day. So I’m basically paying $ 3700 to have some one burn my face and then it does not even work on top of it and also I have to have a red face for a week after the procedure. So I have been trying to get a refund and that has been a nightmare. On May 14th I called to ask for a refund, I went down there they took pictures and stated they would submit to the doctors and they would call in 7 to 10 weeks. well 12 weeks went by and no one called so I called 3 different days and finally I got through on August 13th Denver management stated that they need more evidence I sent them pictures as well So 12 weeks go by and I have to call them again and they stated that your request was never sent in. So then this new person states she will submit it and it will take 1 to 2 weeks so I call again and they state nothing has came in and then 4 hours later some one calls from Denver and says its been denied. I don’t think this ever got through to a doctor. And How do I get a refund, Do I take them to small claims court on this?

Service Does Not Work
Run, don't walk away from this business. It's a total scam.
Over a year ago I went in and met with the manager and signed up for hair removal. She told me repeatedly that I was a great candidate and it would only take 6 sessions for complete hair removal. She said that after that time I may have a rare strand or two left but no worries that it was guaranteed for 2 years.
I should have known something was wrong from day one when each of my three friends were all given different pricing by the manager for the same services. She told each one "don't tell anyone, this is as low as I can go"
Well it's been over a year now and about 8 sessions and I actually see no progress at all. I have just as much hair as when I started. When I talked to the manager (who would only return my calls after I threatened legal action) she claimed she always said it would take a full 2 years for removal.
On top of that I also had the experience where they told me they were closed for remodeling and canceled all of my appointments. When I asked how long they would be closed they told me they did not know and would call me. After several weeks I got fed up and decided to show up one day to see if they were open. Low and behold they were open. I had to demand my appointments be rescheduled.
I had several friends who all signed up around the same time and have all experienced the same issues (no hair removal progress, being lied to, never getting a person to answer the phone, etc, etc) And actually other customers have shared similar stories as they waited for their appointments.
I am ashamed that I was conned out of $2k from this company. Run don't walk away from this company!

Ex-empolyee how to get a refund
I am an ex-employee of American laser centers and every complaint is true on here now when trying to get a refund they will tell you it will take 4-6 weeks (not true) Demand your refund with in 1-2 weeks and make sure you get the 10% they try to take from you. Even if you have had treatment you can still get a refund don't let them tell you otherwise. They discount based on what you look like if you look poor they'll drop the price if you look rich they'll give you the minimum discount for the month. Some managers are great and some can be MEAN!!! do your self the favor and don't go to ALC.

Ruin your taste for life
I emailed the american laser center in Watertown, NY. They this customer service rep. asked my name and phone and address three times in different emails. I wondered why one time I gave her the info was enough. I had two items I wanted to get information on. She never gave me any information. Just kept on wanted to my personal informtion which I gave but shouldn't.
She then said if I come in that very day for hair removal treatments I would get a 100 dollar discount. I told her I can come in at 4 o'clock. She sent me a confirmation that I should come to a center in the state of Maine, when I had told her I would be at a certain address in Watertown NY. I sent her an email that she was in error and must have gotten the state mixed up. Then she sent me another email like the previous one telling me to go a center in the state of Maine. I couldn't understand why she was doing this. Was she insane or just playing with me for some unknown reason. I just thought she was a nut. But after reading others complaints about the center, I am glad she was that way, because I saved myself lots of money and pain. I do hope they fire her and put in a nut house where she belongs. I do think the whole organization should be closed upon reading these complaints. I only wish there was a way to stop future customers from feeling down because of people like these. Unfortunately something you just have to learn from the bad apples in life. I won't make that mistake again, although it was a mistake I couldn't foresee. I sure would join any class action suit again these evil people. But for the people out who is reading this, know that the majority of people are not like this one idiot. Don't like one bad apple out of a million ruin your taste for life. I hope this is helpful for folk reading this!!

Awful experience
I started hair removal for my upper lip and chair three years ago at American Laser Center in Farmington Hills MI. Today they gave me a letter stating my two year guarantee is up.I will start by telling you when i went in for the first time the manager told me i would need six treatments. After six i get a two year guarantee for any hair that my return. I thought well this won't take that long it is probably worth it. Now after three years and about thirty treatments later NOTHING!!! No reduction what so ever!!! I called headquarters to complain and they said the medical board won't review a file unless they have been double passed four times. which i have had done at least ten, but guess what only three are on my file. This company is a scam please if you want to remove hair do not go here.

Fraud and cheating
I attended a bridal event with a friend who was getting married & we both wound up "winning" a $300 coupon from American Laser. Once you go in they overwhelm you with information and get you to sign up for services that don't work (my friend got the hair removal package for the face & I went for foto facials). They are not trained professionals, their staff are not dermatologists & my skin developed MORE problems because of the extreme sensitivity to light that occurred after I started. I was told that I should be wearing factor 50 on my face... AFTER I received serious sun damage. I am locked into a package I do not want and what they offer you is cheaper and safer elsewhere. DON'T do it.

Terrible/No Service for $1,000's
I have paid in full for two sets of treatments. Previously, I lived in Houston, TX, where I started with ALC and paid $1, 600.00 for 6 laser treatments. Due to clinics closing and personnel firings, I received only 3 treatments. Found a clinic close to my home in Cypress, TX and began going there where I added laser hair removal for my forearms totalling %1, 600. At that same time my husband was transferred to Arkansas, thus leaving ANY laser treatments done on my forearms. I tried to ask for a refund at the clinic, but they would not. I contacted the corporate office by letter and by phone with no avail. However, one day I find a message left on my answering machine at my house that they would not honor any refund but told me to look for ALC in my area. Yea, right, the closest one to me is in Dallas, TX, 6 hours away.
One night I was watching a Tulsa, OK late news when I discovered that American Laser Center in (TULSA) had been closed for failure to provide a physician on staff. The next day I called and they were back up and running with a physician's assistant on board. They agreed to continue the treatments from Houston but when I showed up for my appt., they informed me they could not do it because I had "sun damage" and I would have to get skin tightening and toning before any laser procedures could be done. Of course, that costs an add'l $3, 300.00, which I paid through Care Credit.
After that day, I never saw any of the same personnel again and I have yet to receive ANY laser treatments and have had only ONE skin tightening and toning treatment. They continue to cancel appts. because they have no doctor or dr. assts. The third manager was fired in August one of the past employees told me that they heard the clinic was up for sale and is now closed.
ALC is a piece of work. Terrible. Unethical. Unprofessional. Scam Artists. You name it. They are.
Please advise what my rights are in this awful situation! I don't know what to do first?
