Manager Was Very Rude
On April 21 2011, i received a call to reschedule my saturdays appointment due to no techs available, the manager was so rude, making it seems as though i'm the problem, and sounding exasperated with me, the client. This is what we get after paying hundreds of dollars there, to be treated like less that human. Her name is Robyn, beware, take your business elsewhere, if we had not paid all our money upfront, i would have taken my business elsewhere.

Poor Service, Unprofessional, Service does Not Work
American Laser is one of the most unprofessional and dishonest companies I have ever worked with. Their technicians give poor treatments, talk about inappropriate topics and are not trained well. Their services do not work - I have been receiving laser hair removal for 4+ years with very little results - not worth the $4, 000 I paid for the services. They have very poor customer service - they do not return calls and they do not act professional when you are on the phone with them. They will tell you anything you want to hear to get you to buy their services, but they will not tell you about all the loopholes they will use to get you to have to pay more money down the road. Buy their services from a professional company like a dermatologist DO NOT buy from American Laser.

FAULTY PRODUCT
BUYER BEWARE!!! I did NOT do my homework before I spent my $$ so let me warn YOU! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! I paid $1500 for upper lip/chin hair removal. After over two and a half years of time spent going to appointments (and I drove about 3 hours to get to some of them!) the hair remained. The product did not work! What I was left with was a white scar on my chin from being badly burned by one of their technicians. They took pictures of me, one of the techs even remarking at how terrible mine was. I hounded the company for a while to get my refund and went to my mailbox today...there was an envelope--with HALF the amount. HALF. I called them up and the customer service rep told me they aren't legally obligated to refund at all. I signed the contract. Granted, I was the stupid one who signed without doing research. Even on my friend, it only PARTLY worked. SO what is the point of going if you still have to wax and tweeze after years of appointments!! Ladies stay away from this!! Go to a company that gets good reviews.

Had to cancel my credit card!!!
CALL AND CANCEL PAYMENT WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD IMMEDIATELY!!! I canceled my credit card account and was able to have this charge removed because it had not posted yet--thank god. If it posts, then you will go through fraud claims and they will have to dispute it.

I felt strange about the fact that I received two calls, one saying I won $500 and one saying I won $300 and that I could get another $100 off if I came into the office within 48 hours. I scheduled an appointment for that day because I'd been thinking about laser hair removal, but asked what the deal was? Why $500 and then another $300, do you call everyone who signs up? She laughed and said, "No you won our second prize, which is really great!" I was running late to my class and made a rushed decision. She threw in laser hair removal for underarms for free "Two for One Package" deal. And then her math was wrong and she gave me the wrong quote and said, "Oh well, someone else had $100 credit earlier today, I'll just take off another $100." It seemed too good to be true.

DO NOT GO THROUGH THEIR REFUND PROCESS, because from others' responses they do not follow through with their policy and are hard to receive reimbursement from. You are NOT dealing with trustworthy business people and you do not have to uphold your end of the deal when they are clearly running a scam.

no refund
Anyone who is in the Chicago, IL area and would like to start a class action lawsuit against amer laser, please email me. [email protected]. They refunded most of my money but charged me over $800 for a photofacial that was suppose to be free. Even though it was written on my paper I get 3 free photofacials by Aggie at the Downers Grove location. Oh, and they refused to give me a copy of my medical records which is illegal. I wont be done with them until I get all of my money back!!! ~Stephanie

no refund policy
I also went to american laser and they will not give me a refund. I had a c-section 3 months before and was in intense pain over their attempt. They kept saying it should be fine even though I was crying. Finally the girl stopped. I went to my doctor and my ob said to wait atleast 1 year and my primary care dr said I am not a canadate for this procedurre. Even with 2 doctor notes stating that I am not a canadate, they still are not giving me a refund. I would like to join the lawsuit and I also know of another person too. [email protected] They also refused to give me my medical records. Perhaps this is a medical malpractice issue too since they ignored me?

medical negligence
I had a velashape attempted less than 3 months after I had a c-section. The company told me it was fine to have procedure done. They attemped the procedure and I had extreme pain so it was stopped. I have an ob doctor note saying I cannot have the procedure done and my primary care doctor saying I am not able to have this done. I contacted american laser headquarters and they did not give me a refund after giving them my doctors notes. I spoke to Kevin Peque who is in their legal department. He said if I have a dr note stating I am not a canidate that he will refund this. I was then rudely transfered to a abrupt Tony Zanlungo. Then I was told to call Robert Seffinger at ext. 210 who would handle it by Donna Seravich the NEW manager at Downers Grove. She appologized up and down and said they would refund my money. She was the only one who was nice. Robert then passed me to Eva Burse at extension 291 who told me Tony Zanlungo would handle this. I have called repetedly and noone will return my calls. If a lawyer reads this please contact me I would love to sue under negligence. Anyone else who has had this done recently we should stick together against these people who don't give refunds and don't care about the health and safety of their clients.

Rip Off
Why I joined the American Laser: Reduce the size of my pores, a few age spots, lines and wrinkles on my face. It is a year later & guess what. I have the same large pores, age spots and lines & wrinkles.
What I payed for was a waste of my time...that's it. If I wanted to waste time I would and I would'nt have to pay. I am soooo upset!!!
Please tell me how a business can be in business and stay in business. Twice I complained and twice I was told someone would call me back, and guess what...no call back. This was very expensive. I changed my mind in the beginning when I signed up and she told me sorry you signed the contract. So I signed the contract and was robbed.
I want to let everyone to know not to sign up with this company.

Unfulfilled promises
American Laser Centers advertises that a satisfaction is guaranteed for their laser hair removal service. I have gone to my appointments and done everything that I was supposed to for 3 years. This treatment was supposed to take 6-8 treatments and I have been going about once a month for three years and the last 6 months have been double treatments each session and still haven't seen appropriate results (have to shave every day). The girls in the office that treat me have said I should be seeing more. I have tried the more powerful laser and gone for double passes every 3-4 weeks and still haven't seen the results. I have called the office manager, Dana several times regarding the treatment not working and she refused to return my calls or would call me back and give me the run around for weeks. When I ask for a supervisor for her, I have been informed that there isn't anyone else to contact. I paid approximately $900 for this service on the condition that if it didn't work that there would be a refund since satisfaction is guaranteed and Dana has said taht legal agrees that I am not seeing results and the Regional Manager has said that they would treat other areas or provide additional services to compensate me but if it didn't work before why would I try a different area?! I think that 3 years is more than enough times for this to work if it was going to. I was told that I needed to do four double passes and they would address things at that point but then they just offered more services as compensation. I completed this in January and they refuse to address it.
