Billing for things that don't happen
This company tried to bill a paper fee even though I'm signed up for online billing.
Since I disputed, they claim I have received 60 pages over my limit for the month when I have not. I've had service since 2003 and always keep track of my pages and yet they claim I received over-pages.
They are not returning my e-mails and attempt to get me to call them so they can charge me an additional $3.50 call fee. I've just paid one year in advance.
Last year, their network was down for 2 weeks. They claimed my pager was broken and made me buy a new one. The old pager was fine since it was their network not working.

Worst Company Ever!
Let me give you a list:
1. $3.50 charge every time you call customer service, even if it is their mistake
2. They send you a bill once a year. If you want to cancel or change any services, you must do so 30 days before the yearly bill is sent to you.
3. Their customer service standard reply is "that's policy". After pressing them, they look and look for supervisors, but they are never "available".
4. An electronic payment was deposited into their account on 12/28, as verified by my bank. They disconnected my account on 1/5, processed the payment on 1/6, and charged me a reconnect fee.
5. Do not do the Pager Replacement Plan! They still charge you $22 for a deductible and shipping on a $30 reconditioned pager!
6. The Pager Replacement Plan is not prorated. Since I did not call 30 days before receiving the bill, I had to pay the whole year.
7. And most importantly, I paid the $101 yearly bill for all of these services. After they disconnected me (see above), I immediately cancelled. After all their fees, and only 45 days of "service", I am receiving a $41 refund!

Any lawyers reading this? How about a CLASS ACTION suit that will put these unethical thieves under?

Unfair billing practice
I have had a paging service with American Messaging since 1998. I had been paying a year in advance every year since then. Because in the last year I had had no (zero) pages, I decided to discontinue my service when I received the yearly bill.

1. When I asked that my service be discontinued, they told me that I needed to give a 30-day notice. When I asked to produce my original agreement where I agreed to it they could not.
2. They sent the yearly bill only after my previous year contract had expired, and my next year's service had already begun. Instead of billing me 30 (or 20) days prior to the expiration of my term, they waited until I would be forced to pay for an additional 30 days.
3. They recalculated a bill of $40.00 plus for one month of service and cancellation when the yearly service (including taxes, etc) was only $95.00
4. When I asked them to send the original contract specifying such exorbitant cancellation charges by certifiend mail, they agreed to prorate the charges for seven days.
5. They refused to prorate the other charges which included: Tower maintenance fee for a year, federal and state taxes and various other fees that were also calculated for a year. (I wonder if they will forward all these taxes to the proper authorities.)
6. I argued that if I had been paying my bills on a monthly basis, these charges would have been only 1/12 of what I was assessed. But, no dice.

I got charged about $18.00. It is not a huge amount, but the practice of late billing, and not prorating charges such as "Tower Maintenance" and taxes is outrageous and deceitful. In addition charging federal taxes for services not provided constitutes fraud.

This complaint is written to forewarn other current and future customer of American Messaging. I plan to make complaints to FCC, the Attorney General of the State, and fight it in small claims court, as a matter of principle.

late bill and turned it over to ERS
I had a pager with them for over ten years for my bussiness. They were billing my American Expreess card for the charges. Then I get a Collection notice from ERSolutions and ordering me to pay the late bill. I called them three times and no call back. I called American Messaging and they woud not talk to me since it was in collection. So They stop billing my credit card and then they send me to collections over $55.00. So I, m paying for it and turning off my pager and chaging to another company. Since they do not want to get thier money from my credit card.
