American Movers Group claims to give an "Exact Price" in order to avoid surprises. The joke will be on you, as my Price on the day of pickup ended up being greater than 2X their "exact price." The increase was supposedly due to the additional boxes they did not know about although I had told them there was no way to estimate boxes. They diminished this issue only to stick it to consumer in the end. SURPRISE!!!
Then delivery was supposed to occur in 2-7 days from pickup. There was even an email 3 days later requesting preferred email date. Preferred dates came and went without further contact. When I subsequently called, I was told a guaranteed date could not be granted unless I paid an additional $400. They estimated a delivery date between 15-22 days from pickup, for furniture traveling 740 miles.
They called me the night before their anticipated delivery insisting that they could only deliver the next morning, and alternate delivery dates were going to result in additional delivery charge. They also declined to put any information in writing 1.e. they don't want a paper trail. As of this posting, I am still waiting for my things on Day 14. CAVEAT EMPTOR; THEY ARE CROOKS!

I was given a binding quote, quote #156267 of $3995.00 based on weight then when the movers arrived late I was charged additional $2000.00 based on cubic foot and not by the weight the representative quoted me on plus was charged for wrapping and tape. The delivery date was for 5 day away which turned into 22 days. When my furniture finally arrived things were missing and pieces were broken. I guess I could kiss away all the missing and broken furniture since they don't answer their phone. AMERICAN MOVERS GROUP does not return phone calls or answer e-mail either. NEVER USE AMERICAN MOVERS GROUP.
