Sales/Delivery
We searched and searched for a perfect couch and THOUGHT we found it at American Signature. We put a deposit down for a future move date of 2 months; we should have known right there. When we went to confirm our new address and move date the week prior, they told us they never secured the move date as the couch wasn't paid in full. Being a young couple and this our first "real" furniture purchase, we weren't aware of the need to pay in full to secure a delivery date - and no one in sales nor the back care group that entered our order informed us. Still wanting that couch, we went ahead and secured the delivery date by paying in-full and had to wait a week in our new place with no couch.
A slight inconvenience but not the biggest deal... until the delivery came and it was the WRONG couch. No one knows how this was ordered or why it came to us that way. I'm not even talking the wrong color - I mean the ENTIRE wrong COUCH. We went straight up to the store in Altamonte Springs to talk with them about the misdelivery. They offered the consession that they would work with us by taking the delivery fee off entirely, which we thought would be an okay way to make it up to us (mind you, the 'right' couch couldn't be delivered for yet another week... that's now two weeks with no couch). My boyfriend mentioned how they had trouble getting the 'wrong' couch up our stairs and so perhaps it would be best that we actually found a different one (as the 'right' couch was bigger yet). The salesperson (Jason Grant) took us to a few couches he personally would suggest - we spent about an hour debating over two... and then announced our conclusion.
Great! He walked us up to the customer care counter and when my boyfriend brought up the delivery fee being taken off - the salesman retracted his offer by saying "well, sir, you and I just agreed that the other couch wouldn't have fit anyway". In short, they were taking back their consession because we decided to purchase a different couch. We tried to explain that we aren't absolutely sure and neither are they - but that we thought we'd play it safe and order one we KNOW wouuld fit so that we wouldn't have to extend yet a THIRD week without a couch. That plus, their careless delivery failure was still a mistake on their part, not ours. With the receipts in-hand back at the customer care/cashier place, he pulled up our previous order to change things around (as we still debated this delivery fee). He noted that the 'wrong' couch produced an invoice of almost $500 difference than the original 'right' couch, didn't we notice that when we went to pay? Because we should have had alarms raised at that point (we didn't keep the original order with us the day we went in to pay, it was 3 months earlier, we bought other merchandise over time, and we didn't remember the exact sticker amount with the fabric care, delivery, taxes, etc included - so NO, we didn't notice). This was yet another attempt to put the blame for this on us, which wasn't settling well. As we tried to figure out how much the deposit was, how much the difference was, how much we had as a credit to apply to the new purchase - between 3 of us, we couldn't make up or down of the invoices to come to an agreement for what we have already paid. To us, it was simple - a deposit, and a balance. To them by their system, we were $239 off and owed them more. I found the mistake - we were actually charged the delivery fee twice, it carried from one transaction to another and was charged again - but the salesperson didn't agree.
My boyfried asked for them to simply refund us the cash we paid previously, and suggested that we just start over. Come to find out... they can't refund us CASH (even though we paid CASH for the balance) and they won't refund it to the card we originally used to pay for the deposit. They have to send it up to CORPORATE and we can pick up our CHECK in 8 days.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! At this point, we can't even take the money to purchase another couch somewhere else if we wanted to, they had us handcuffed to their store! I just couldn't believe they wouldn't give us our money back - the care woman stated that it tells us on the back of our receipt that they won't refund more than $250 to a credit card and that's their policy. Unbelieveable.
We were so infuriated we decided that we'd take our business elsewhere regardless of having to sit on the floor for another week or more. There's no way we will be customers of American Signature again, horrible sales, horrible service, horrible record keeping, horrible policies.

bad customer service
I was at your store on Sunday Feb 13, 2011 I was very disapointed with the service I recieved. My nephew and I bought a recliner and we ask the sales person if we coud take it home he said measure the trunk and see if it fits I measured and I taught it fit when I came back to ask him for a hand truck he was not there I guess he made the sales that is all that mannered so I ask another salesman to get me a hand truck and he said that service did not work. All I wanted was a hand truck finally we had him paged he did not smile and at that I told my nephew lets give him the sale because he asked us first because I went to another store to compare prices so I was giving him the benefit of the doubt. When I went to put it in the car it did not fit I taught ok if it doesn't fit I taught I will put it on the roof of the car and take it home. He said something smart and he walked away . My thing is he did not offer a suggestion did not even give us a piece of plastic so the we could accomplish our task. I had to improvise because he was to delicate to help. Unforunately, I would not recommend this store because the service was lousy the attitude is not good and the disposition has a lot to be desired. Hopefully you will your people better customer service. I would appreciaate a reply,

Defective Furniture
I have to prefice this with the fact that we are in our 50's and have no children and the furniture we have we are very gentle with and take very, very good care of...with that in mind...We shopped and shopped for furniture for two months and decided on quite a few pieces at American Signature in Plymouth Meeting, Pa. We had chosen a sofa, a chaise lounge, a living room chair and an ottoman which were very attractive on the showroom floor. We made the purchase and then the problems began and have been on-going for three months! First, we were told they could only deliver the sofa and the other pieces were on back order - ready in two weeks - yet we were being billed from day one. When the chaise arrived we tried sitting in it for a day or two and it seemed the back had no support. We called and they sent out a "furniture technician" who found that the piece had probably been dropped because the back support was cracked in half. We returned that for a credit, yet still charged the delivery fee for it. Next, the chair we ordered ended up being a floor model that had scratches and dirt marks all over it, returned that, but still they charged the delivery fee. Next, the top of the ottoman's upholstery started to come loose from the piece and now the sofa arms are creaking and every time you move or sit on the sofa it cracks and cracks. I just called again and the "furniture technician" is coming out in a week. This is absolutely ridiculous! Why should anyone be paying over $1500 for furniture and every piece that is delivered is damaged or defective and needs repair. This is worse than used furniture! It is absolute junk! I would not suggest anyone ever buy anything from American Signature - it is really made of crap pieces of wood and materials that are just nothing but junk. They seem to make the money in their delivery fees! Ridiculous!

False Advertisement
In September of 2009 I saw a Labor Day Ad for a 3 piece leather set for $600.00. I went into the store and was pleased on how it looked. A salesman assisted me and I applied for credit. I did not get the one yr no interest, however i was approved through another financing company. I did the paperwork and I was told that I would expect to receive my furniture in early part of Oct. In October I was called and told that I would not see anything until the ending of October. When the ending of October came, they gave me another date in November which was before Thanksgiving. I was given an actual date. I received a call and I was told to come pick it up on a Thursday. I went and got a pickup truck and went after work and there was nothing. I was giving this excuse that they had received a batch of furniture that was not to their standards and sent it back. Now I had no furniture and Thanksgiving was coming. I received a call that they would not receive anymore of that set and would give me $200.00 off on whatever I wanted. Now I live on a budget and $600 was what I could afford. They had nothing in the store that I could afford or pleased with. Another ad came out that they had this small leather secional and I went into the store to purchase it. Now keep in mind 90days have passed and my old contract wa null and void. They still sold me the sofa, gave me the $200 off and when we went to pick up the sofa it was damaged. I took pictures and told them and they had the nerve to tell me to bring it back to them. They had inconveninced me for over 3 months and they had the nerve to tell me this. "NOT RIGHT"! I specifically told them to come and pick it up because I was not satisfied with tears on the furniture. They refused to come get it and I did not have a truck to take it back to them. Now they want me to be responsible for paying for it. I refuse to pay it. If I was not satisfied with the product and asked them to come get it, they should have. I had 7 days to do so. They refused to come and get it. Well I'm not paying for it! It still sitting in my house and I do not want it. I cannot sell it because technically its not mine and they refuse to come and get it. I continue to get harrassment calls from the finance company to my job. It needs to stop! They didnt want to listen to anything I had to say about the whole situation in the first place so I have nothing to tell them anymore. This whole situation is messed up. I am contacting an attorney to see what I can do.

Junk mirror
We bought a large mirror ( Faceted Mirror) for our living room. It has small mirror tiles around all the edges. After making mounting holes in the wall we hung the mirror. Thats when we noticed a cracked tile. I called the store and they had a floor unit for replacement. I reboxed the defective mirror and returned it to the store for a second one. After getting it home we found a cracked tile in it also. The tiles seem to only be glued in the middle and not around the edges so if any tile is touched on the edges they will probably crack also.
I am so physically tired from fighting this heavy mirror that we will probably just live with it. If we were to get another it would have the same issues and the store said they would charge $79 if they were to bring another out and I was told that they would only deliver it and not help in anyway to hang it.
We are very dissapointed in the quality and lack of any assistance other than rolling the items to the pickup door.

Poor Quality and Structure
Purchased livingroom set 13 months ago for approiximately 2, 800. Recliner no longer reclines, I have to pull it out from the bottom, and large sofa began to sink in the middle. When purchased the furntiure was under the assumption that I purchased the extended warranty, however, was put in to the system wrong and told i have extended fabrick warranty. What good is the fabric if the structure is made of poor quality. DO NOT BUY FROM AMERICAN SIGNATURE

Poor service
To whom this may concern, I am writing because I made purchase from your store at number 135, Roosevelt Boulevard in October. I purchased an Entertain System called Wall-Merlot. It was $1500, It was supposed to be delivered a day before thanksgiving, only one piece came. I had gone back to the store and complained. The people at the desk were very rude. Then I spoke to manager Mr. Murphy and O.J, and told them what the problem was. So they gave me Store credit for $100 on gift card for their inconvience. It was then suppose to come next week, no one ever came nor called me back, So I went back to the store again 2nd time. Same people I had spoken to, they said It had to come from Baltimore and they gave me another $120 gift card. They said it was coming next week, So then when it came, it was old and damage, they brought floor piece. It was not what I "Had ordered"!.. I ordered NEW furniture. I went back again for 3rd time and complained. I Spoke to the same people. They apologized and gave more gift cards for the inconvience again and promised it would come the next week. Not to mention service was HORRIBLE!!- Three weeks later I still did not recieve anything and finally I called and said they no longer had it in stock. So all the gifts cards the store Manager had given me where basically charged to my credit card. Which Is "illegal", I did not give any authorization to do so and It was suppose to be "Store credit" from them for all the hastle they put me through. They should had been straight forward and just said it was not in stock. The service was horrible and rude and very unprofessional. They should had never asked for the gift cards back neither. I would much appreciate it If I could get a response to this letter. I would like to see if any of your employers actually care about your customers. Not to mention I will never step foot nor purchase a single item again. I had never delt with this kind of poor service ever... You need to have real employers who know how to deal with customers. I do have ALL the receipts to prove the merchandise that I have purchased.
Thank You

Crap Sofa and sales person
I stepped into the America Signature shop near Lansdale PA. I finalized a sofa and asked the Sales Representative that if that can be shipped. He told Yes. Then we bought other furnitures too.
At the time of billing the gentleman representative(he does not deserve to be listed as gentlemen) told me that my address is 23 miles from the shop and he can not ship it.(He wasted my 3 hours).
Product Complaint:
Finally we bought another Kaitlin Torquoise Sofa. They exchanged the sofa twice still they supplied a very rubbish set(firts set that reached me was torn at base, Second replacement had a big dirty spot and the third one is even worse). The seats of the sofa are down from all sides now. The back Support is also lost it shape. The sofa i bough is not even $50 woth.
Service:
I opened a servce request in April and they called me in June to take a look. They were wasting my time so that I get frustrated and stop following them.
In August one of the Person from the shop came and said I need to flip my seats to keep them in Shape(ha ha ha).
What a rubbish idea to protect your product.
American Signature CArd:
Never open a card with these people. After getting frstrated with the services I filed a dispute with American Signature card. They did no enquiry and declared the case to be closed. They did not even informed me of the status. They lied of sending communication at my home. The bills they sent reached correctly at my address but the dispute status never reached me.
SO do ead this review before you visit their showroom.
I strogly refuse this company for purchase of furnitures.
They sell crap furniture and Salesmen are also pathetic (at least my experience with sales men is pathetic. The guy wasted 5 hours of mine).
Thanks

Military/Veteran Complaint
I went into American Signature in Brandon during their Veterans Day sale. My wife and I were going to purchase some living room furniture for our new home. When I asked the salesman what kind of military discount they had, the salesman told me that they had no military discounts because the company didn't believe that we should be in Iraq or Afghanistan. As a veteran, I was in total shock and disbelief that a company called AMERICAN signature would abandon the military and service members as they did. I highly recommend anyone that is a veteran/active or supports our military to stay away from American Signature.
