Wrongful Listing on Our Credit Report
We purchased a car in 2006 and were financed with Americredit. Our car somehow caught on fire and totalled out the car in 5 minutes flat. Two days after they put us into collections. A week later it was listed as a reposetion on our credit. We financed a TOTAL of $18, 000 give or take. We paid 3 years at $315 a month, totalling up to $11, 340. Then they were paid another $10, 000 by the insurance company for the car. They are still trying to come after us for another $2, 700. I know how to do simple math and $21, 340 is more than $18, 000. They refuse to take the reposetion off of our credit and refuse to drop the $2, 7000 claim. No car dealerships like them and we have talked to several that refuse to use them. They are scam artists and will rip you off. We are military and foster parents and are only trying to do what is right. We are being ripped off and unfairly accused of failing to take care of business. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY WHATEVER YOU DO!!!

Stupid practices
I had a 800 dollar a month payment and got hit hard when the mortgage market crashed I struggled to make my payments and made arrangements with them. They had my car repo'ed on a sunday when there was no one to call at their offices and took my car and wanted 3000 dollars to get it back. I could afford the full payment going forward cause I had to change jobs for less pay, I requested a loan mod to a payment I could afford and they said no. Now I'm in collections for 400 dollars a month till the 20k is paid off and my collection amount is something I offered them to keep the car. I lost my job cause I could commute to it, and now I'm Unemployed and looking for work in a down economy.

So to clarify please can I make 450 dollar payments till my loan is paid off instead of 800 Answer NO!!

But we are willing to take your car and have your wages garnished for 400 till your balance is paid off. WTF!!!

Rewritten Contract
In April 2005, my husband and I bought a car. We made extra payments on the principle of the loan, and we were 6 payments from paying off the loan, but we were going through some hard times and fell a little behind. They kept calling us about "deferring" our loan. I refused...sooooo they rewrote the loan on deferrement, and now we have 12 payments to go.

I have contacted this company and I am going to contact the FCC. I find this to be an incredibly HORRIBLE COMPANY. They have been nothing but trouble since day one.

No explanation of charges when request , poor service
They will not work with you on financing, terms, interest, anything. If you are one day late, they call you every day, sometimes more than once, until you give a payment arrangement. I've asked for a breakdown of finance charges toward each payment for a year now b/c the loan isn't going down, and yet to get it after several attempts. WE NEED A CLASS ACTION ON THIS COMPANY. If there is a lawyer who will file suit you have tons of complaints here! Just the fact you cannot get an explanation of your finance charges applied toward payments tells you something.

Americredit harasses people until no end
I agree... Americredit harasses people until no end until they get their money one or two days pass the due date even with a 30 day grace period...

I would never ever use this company again
I am a current customer and I must tell everyone that uses this company to just be prepared should you a few days late. Ex: My payment is due on the 5th, and I have a 10 day grace period after that date until I am actually late. The constant computerized calls start about on the 8th or 9th of the month, (3-4 days after due date) before I've even meet my deadline on the grace period. Then when I do call to try and let them know my situation, they tell me that they'll make note of it, but they cannot stop the computerized calls. And the computerized calls tells you to call? Huh? Why both. I would never ever use this company again, and I certainly would not referred anyone to them.

Customer service? Not with this company!
If anybody reads a report about AmeriCredit and it says that they provide excelent customer service, throw the bull *** flag and wipe you butt with the paper it's written on.

First off, you can't just talk to a live person. No, you have to leave a message for them to call you back. Then you have to sit around your house for a day and a half waiting for them to call. When the lazy bastards do finally call, they put you right back to their voice mail and want you to do it all over again.

If you try to speak to a person in a boss related position, they won't take your call. That leaves you with no choice but to leave another message with a group of jack *** that don't give a *** about customer service, and you have to wait another unknown amount of time for them to get back to you.

I suggest that if you have an option to either get a loan thru AmeriCredit or give yourself a rectal exam using plyers and a ball bat, choose the exam. Atleast that way you know it's going to hurt.

I do not recommend this company
I financed a car through this company. I abought another car and financied it through another source. I forgot to cancel the automatic payment. The dealer paid off the car 5-20. Americredit sent the dealer the title about two weeks later, but has not refunded my money. They claim they want to make sure the dealer's check clears. I was never late on my payments. This company is dishonest and takes advantage of the little person. They did not mess with the big auto dealer, which is one of the largest in my state. I do not recommend this company.

Car Loan
The car dealer we went to put our car loan with AmeriCredit. OMG, nothing but BS from this company. If you pay your car payment on their website, they charge a $5.00 fee which by the way it would be applied to the car. My bank deducts 1/2 my payment (bi-weekly) and sends to Americredit. When I first got my car loan, I had to call each and every month to tell Americredit to apply all payments to my car...well, I started traveling more and could not call, never heard from Americredit until Christmas vacation I get a call at work, I checked my messages at work while on vacation, bad thing to do! (-: I called AmeriCredit and they told me I owed $600.00 and something...boy was I PISSED!!! Anyway, they told me that my payments were not applied to my car but to the interest...WTF...I could not believe this. I had to explain how my payments are set-up and how I should not be late...they applied some of my payments to the interest and not my car. I was told it would be fixed...well I was wrong, I had to call again, and again I was told it would be fixed. I was told it had to do with my September payment, but it would be fixed. Thank God I documented on the people I spoke to at AmeriCredit. Anyway, after the phone calls and being told it would be fixed was nothing but a waste of my time becasue it was not fixed!! I just got an email today telling me my car payment was due when in fact it should not be due. I emailed them...oh wait, you see the funny thing is when you email AmeriCreidt about an issue, they reply but when you want it documented, they tell you to call and if you email them again, they ingore your email. Here is the kicker, they never emailed me about my car payment being due until they got my email on my complaint, they can keep your email and email you on that...car payment, but they can't apply bi-weekly car payments to the car because they don't have a set-up for that but they do when you pay on-line through AmeriCedit. Where are the lawyers, we need to class action suite against this company!!! God I wish I would have known about this bank...

Unethical/Unlawful Business Practices
I opened a loan with Americredit 3/19/2008 for 22, 318.90 with a monthly payment of 517.00 for 72 months on a 2007 Chrysler Pacifica. I have nothing but trouble from the onset with this company. They post payments late then they charge you the late fees that never seem to come off of your account. I recently acquired a copy of my credit report and found that I have 12 months straight of late payments with Americredit a few times even showing 60 days delinquent. I am no Einstein, but I know that any other finance company would have reposessed their property by now. The truth is I have not paid my note on time every month, but I have made every payment everytime, and never -ever -ever missed 2 consecutive payments. I have paid $700, $800, $661, so on and so forth to makesure that my payments were sufficient to satisfy my debtors. These people are just evil and the consisitenly violate the laws regarding fair debt collecting. They have called my home 4 times in a day then my cell 2 times and even my job phone several times in that same day. The law allows for 2 calls if I am not mistaken. They harrass their clients ungodly. I recently checked my statement online and discovered that I owe another $158.60 late fee for my February payment. Here is the catch thought today is February 2 my payment is not due until the 15th does anyone else see a problem with this, and my account is current with no payments outstanding. I swear they are just making this stuff up, I have problem paying when I owe something but I believe they are trying to charge people for phantom occurrances to keep them in these over interest, over blown loans. I have paid over $11, 000 in payments but I still owe $19, 000 on a loan that was opened 2 years ago for 22, 000. That my friends makes no mathmatical sense. I can only deduce that I have paid $8, 000 in interest. In other words if they were to reposess my auto today they would have made their interest on the loan and retaken the auto, then sent it to auction, made some more on it at aution, and then sent me a bill for the difference of what the auto got at auction versus what was left on the loan, and this is legal, are you freaking kidding me. I believe a class action Lawsuit is in order, as individuals we do not have the power to fight these kinds of financial rapists and they know it, but as hundreds or thousands of angry well organized and well represented Americans we can hit these offenders in the only place they will feel and understand it; their wallets.
