Will not refund $350!
First, took 3 weeks to get thru! On Jan 5 I prepaid for 25 gallons of propane. The tank only took 14.3 gallons, so I was due a credit of about $50. On Jan 9, Amerigas charged my account another $300. Local office cannot explain why I was charged this amount and put in for a refund. I was told it would be 7-10 days, and it is now Feb 2 and the refund hasn't even been processed! Bottom line, Amerigas took money from my bank account and won't return it. If anyone has a national phone number, please share. Cannot find it on wwebsite.

Took our money two weeks ago and has not delievered our gas. We are now almost out of fuel
We prepaid for our fuel two weeks ago and were told that Amerigas would be out within seven days. On the seventh day, the driver refused to come up our drive way due to some ice. We salted our driveway and they said they would be out the next day. No one showed. They put us back on the list and would come out to fill out tank in another seven days. No one showed up. We are now down to 4% fuel and have two children under the age of seven. We contacted several people at the home office, all of which were rude and inconsiderate. We asked to have our money refunded, since we paid cash, but they told us that would not happen for four weeks. Evidentally, everyone is having this issue, because they were just brought up for these issues on NBC 4 for a young lady who hasn't had heat for two weeks. This was the worse customer service I have ever encountered. Poor management skills and need trained in conflict resolution, because they suck at it. My seven year old is more intelligent.

Wants to charge us $400 for a full tank
Amerigas wants to charge us $400 for a full tank of propane, that does'nt sound too bad does it, well heres the kicker $400 for a whole tank of propane and then every month they charge you however much you have used up out of it, and then will not give you back your deposit for 90 days this company is a big bunch of crap trying to stick it to the little people. I hope the government comes in and closes them down! but since we have obama as president I really don't think thats going to happen as he is for the FATCATS!

Dont tell me something that isnt true!
The story begins late last week.. I called to get a refill on my fuel.. I was told my acct was disconnected and I owed a 60 dollar disconnect fee. After sitting on the phone with a cust service rep and a senior rep I was informed my account was accidently taken off the system instead of my neighbor who indeed cancelled her amerigas and went with Corrigan.. they told me they couldnt do the fuel order until this acct was situated. So I waited.. then yesterday I get a call stating they could do my fuel order and deliver same day.. I called back and was told once again to call back tomorrow(that would be today) and they could do a delivery. I talked to a rep and was told there is no way a delivery could be scheduled today.. and the rep lied to me.. her exact words.. he lied to me lol.. I was told to pay them 450 dollars oh and a 200 next day delivery fee if i wanted them to come tomorrow.. even though they promised me they would fix this. How is it my fault and why should I pay that 200 dollars? Now I know why my neighbor went with Corrigan.. so now I am back to where I started. a tank at 5-10 percent and a winter storm coming.. fantastic ..

Fails to deliver
I have been an amerigas customer for 7 years. the last 2 years has been real frustrating. i called for delivery on tuesday morning and was told i would be garranteed delivery within 48 hours if i paid an additional fee.. well its friday morning, 72 hours later and no gas! I called again and was told by the lady that " she understood what a garrantee was" but there is a "state of emergency due to snow". what? we have 5 inches but the roads are clear and i have a path to my tanks! the only "state of emergency" is my family trying to stay warm! Thanks for knowing the meaning of garrantee amerigas!

Refused to deliver
I was told to call when the tank got at or below 40% especially if bad weather was expected. We called as when it was 40% and expecting bad weather. After repeated calls and promises from them that they would "be there soon" we eventually got down to 10% with even worse weather expected. After another call, we were told that because there was some snow near our garage, that the driver refused to deliver. I asked what would happen if I ran out of propane, the customer service man said, "That is too bad." I simply clear the area off more and hope that they deliver tommorrow, like they said they would. I am switching propane companies ASAP.

Increased price by 50%
I have been a customer of Amerigas every since they took over Commonwealth Propane, around 12 years ago. I always paid my bill in full, and was never late. Every year, at least once, I would have to go to their local office, and argue with them over the price they were charging me for propane. This January was the final straw. My price went from $2.85 per gallon to $4.37 per gallon in one month. After arguing with them, and being informed the program I was on was no longer available, they did split the increase, and I "only" had to pay .75 per gallon increase. But they did not notify me about the program, or offer me another program in the middle of heating season. Bye-Bye Amerigas.

unethical billing
As usual amerigas has failed to deliver anything except a charge for an empty tank...and also a 35 dollar monthly interest charge if not paid...I tried repeatly to contact customer service I think I got that guy in the Igloo up north...no use customer service...I asked for return call waited like a fool never got return call go figure...some have nerve to put anything related to America in their name...I guess when they come to retreive tanks I will get to talk with the persons...by the way I sold all my stock in what I thought was a promising venture...Joes bottled gas is great at least they will return calls..

Poor service
We have been using Amerigas for the past 10 yrs and I have to call their billing (local) dept each time they fill the tank.

The clincher was in Sept. 2010. Amerigas filled the tank with 171 gallons in March and then claimed we used 172 gallons during the summer. We use propane for heat only. In case no one realizes it, Tucson temperatures are very warm starting in early Apri until November.

When I called they claimed the numbers were transposed. I still can't figure that one out. In September I requested we call for delivery.

Last week they delivered 85 gallons, without notice. They claim the commputer scheduled FORCAST, meaning automatic yet their bill shows differently.

I hope Amerigas is laughing as loud as I am, because I called to have the fuel removed and I am going with another company.

Denial of service
Several months ago, I submitted a Request for Quote so that I could store and use bulk Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) on my industrial property. Since many of my applications are not demand heavy, I was having 20 lb. cylinders, 100 lb. cylinders, and the occasional lift truck cylinder filled at their plant while "waiting" for the plant manager to review the quotation that their salesman had written. I asked to purchase a grade 'T' hose to convey vapor to a handheld torch. The manager asked if I was going to leave the hose on the floor, or hang it on the wall. I have been consuming LPG, other fuel gasses, and many other compressed gasses for close to 20 years. I learn and practice multiple redundant safety precautions. Throughout my career, NOONE has sustained injury on my watch. When I explained that I would likely hang it on the wall as I do with my other hoses and cables, he told me that he "didn't even want to do business with me." Practically speaking, I don't know of a safer way to store such an item than to clean and inspect it as I neatly coil it before hanging it on the wall. I choose not to store hoses and cables on the floor, but perhaps it could be done safely under certain conditions.

I left several messages for him to call me. The call never came. My installation will be 100% compliant with NFPA 58. My site is already set to accept a compliant installation.

I am a disabled person. I sometimes use designated parking which requires either a placard or special license plate in the state where I live. Often, my placard sits upon the dashboard of whatever truck I drive. Some comments were made by the manager to various employees regarding the placard. There was some speculation expressed by him regarding what my disability may be comprised of. I had not used any durable medical equipment on his property or in his presence. I have all of my body parts and it has been said that I appear to be "normal." If he was curious about my disability, I'm not sure why he didn't simply ask me about it. It certainly does not compromise any safety factors as I use LPG or any other substance.

When I escalated the situation to his superior after his lack of response, I was told that Dave, his superior, would look into it. When I called Dave two days later, I was told that not only would they not set bulk storage tanks on my property, but that they would no longer sell product to me in any capacity. When I inquired about the reason, I was told that there were "safety concerns surrounding the site and the way things were piped." I asked how they were able to garner this information without ever setting foot on my property. I also explained that since the installation had not yet occurred, there was no piping in place. He maintained his position without providing an explanation. When I asked if it had anything to do with my disability placard, he became furious and hung up on me.

In summary, in order to avoid insult and injury, I would advise against ever using this company directly for any purpose. I have only ever used their LPG and I will continue to. They offer high quality product with a high level of purity. Over my career, it has worked well with my equipment. I have always purchased their product through distribution. I will continue to purchase in this manner.
