Screwed up my front lawn
They brought one man to replace the old tanks, which I asked several times over in my three years, after I complained they were happy to help. The driver got stuck on my front lawn causing damage to my decorative island.I called the office saying we need to get a two truck over here to pull him out. I was told he needed to call to request a truck because it "hundreds of dollars" Meanwhile, my lawn is looking worse because he tried like *** to get it out.The office called and they are sending a tow truck! WTF? I told them that!!!

Stealing my hard earned money
I have been an AmeriGas customer for 5 years. I live in a mobile home and have all electric heat. I have a centrally located propane heater in my mobile home installed by the previous owner to offset the electric bill. The second year of using this heater I had a 200.00 dollar gas bill in one month. I stopped using the propane and shut the valve off. Well I continue to receive bills from AmeriGas. When I call and give them the meter reading which is 3704. The bill says beginning reading 3705. Ending reading 3709. I am now being charged late fees on propane that I have not used. This matter will go to the attorney general. I am tired of dealing with this company.

Customer Relations
I have been a paying (never paid bill late) customer of Amerigas for many years and I am surprised at the way they handle their customer service in these tough times however there aren't many other propane compaies in the area to choose from so I guess that is why they treat their customers with absolutely no respect . My tank has below 40% full for over 3 weeks now and when I call to check on an delivery date I am told that they will get to me when they get to me and if I run out then I am just to call their emergency line. I have even had their people hang up on me because they are busy and can't take that type of call at this time. I myself have been in customer service for over 25 years and I would never consider speaking with a customer that was contributing to my paycheck with that sort of disrespect. Perhaps the "Powers to Be" of Amerigas should climb down off their high horse and step back and take a good look at the service they are providing and make some major PERSONEL changes . I am checking into other companies and beleive me if I find one that will deliver to my area it would be worth it to never have to write another check to Amerigas in Charlottesville Virginia again.

Poor customer service
Being new to the use of propane and forgetting to check the level, I unfortunately let my tank get down to zero percent in the middle of winter with three small children in my home. When I spoke with an employee of the company, he advised that there was a $200 expidition fee to get someone out the NEXT day plus a $95.00 feeto check things because I let it get down to zero percent. Then they mention the price per gallon! When he advised that it would cost me over $1, 000.00 to fill my tank I was speachless! Now mind you, I called the company at approx. 8:00am thinking they would be out to fill my tank that day, especially with that &200 rush fee! But no, it was to be delivered the next day. Now when I asked what time, he advised between 8-4 and could not be more specific and advised that someone NEEDED to be home during that time frame. I asked for someone to call me when they were enroute and they advised they would, but that is was not guarenteed. I stressed to them over and over to pleae give me a courtesy call because I work. So, after freezing that night and not being able to use hot water, I went to work and waited for their call. I decided to go home for lunch that day and when I arrived at noon, saw a note on my door from Amerigas. It stated that they had filled my tank, but LOCKED IT OFF because nobody was home. I immediately called the company and advised that I never received a call and asked for the driver to return that day to unlock it. The employee advised me that they WOULD NOT RETURN THAT DAY and that I needed to wait until the next business day and gave me a four hour time frame. They again stated that someone had to be home. I advised that I needed to work and to have the driver or dispatch call me when they were enroute. Employee advised that they MAY call but that it was not general procedure. I spoke with supervisor after supervisor asking for some assistance with the issue. Each person I spoke with was rude, inconsiderate and blamed me for the mess because I let the tank get down to zero percent. They refused to credit me for the expidition fee, refused to send the driver back to my home to unlock it, refused to give me a smallertime frame the next day, refused to call ahead with a courtesy call and were not at all concerned that my three little ones were freezing and had no hot water. So, with no other choice, I decided to call off of work the next day and sit and wait for them to return. Again, another nite of freezing temps plus a day without pay. At approx. 9:00am I miracuously received a call from the driver advising me that he would be there within 30 minutes! When I asked why he didnt call me the previous day when he was here filling it, he advised that it was not on the paperwork to call. Boy, was I upset. This entire thing cost me over $1300.00!!! Plus, I was treated so poorly by employees and supervisors. I will NEVER use Amerigas again nor recommend them to ANYONE! They have extremely poor customer service and ridiculously high prices with outragious fees!

Rotten customer service
We have been using Amerigas and were happy until we ran out of gas on a Saturday. Our gauge said we had 15% in our tank, but evidently we were out. We paid the $125 service charge for Saturday delivery, that was not the problem. The problem was that since we were paying the delivery charge anyway, we decided to let them fill the tank as we had gotten the best price from them in the past, not knowing that they were going to charge us well over $1 per gallon more than their competitors.

In our emergency situation, Amerigas took the opportunity to take full advantage of us, costing us $470 more than we expected. When we tried to talk to the office about the problem, they wouldn't change the price and were rude.

Amerigas lost the potential for tens of thousands of dollars of our future business by gouging us for the $470. How's that for smart business?

Thieves
Amerigas charged me $150.00 fee for running out of gas. Sometime during the year they put me on "Will Call" because they said that my gas usage is not consistent and they did not want to be responsible for me running out of gas. Well since they put me on will call I have ran out of gas twice. I have asked them for a bigger tank and they said "No, you don't use enough gas." I asked them for a gauge and again they said "No, because they only come on larger tanks". So not knowing how much gas I have I ran out obviously. So I call them to tell them I ran out of gas and they immediately told me it was no problem to send a truck out but that I had to pay the $150.00 fee for a leak test and to pull a driver off of his regular route, AND they wanted me to go to them and pay that fee in advance. Just for the record that $150.00 fee is more than they charge me for filling my tank. Hence, I am shopping for a new gas company. Lastly, I was a customer of Conservative Gas for 30 years before Amerigas took them over, and I have never ever ran out of gas until Amerigas came to town. I am appalled that such thievery is allowed.

Stay away
Amerigas is a ripoff! They charge excessive amounts of money for everything. Their customer services people are rude. They do not have the consumers interest at heart.

Amerigas charges the consumer to come out, to read your meter to stay, and they penalize the consumer when we become smart enough to leave their monopoly!! They refill tanks when tanks don't need refills. I once paid $2000.00 in 11/2 months.

Now that I want them to pick up their tank, they told me they might pick it up in the spring. I will seek counsel.

Stay away from Amerigas!!

Scam
We have been Amerigas customers for years. We have gas heat, cooking and water heater. We can no longer afford to use the heat since my husband became disabled, therefore our usage has gone down to about 200 gallons a year and since we use less than 300 gals. they say they have to charge us 80 cents more per gallon. What would they do if they went to the gas station & only bought 10 gallons & were told their price would be more per gallon than if they had bought 20 gallons.

This is unfair to charge depending on the amount you use. What about conserving to cut down on this so called global warming.

Rip off
They did not offer me a pre buy this year @2.08 per gallon and then never filled my tank until I called when it got to 20%. Then they told me it was $3.79 per gallon. I argued with the driver and he did lower it to 2.75. This area is well below the poverty level WITH A UNEMPLOYMENT RATE of about 20%. The driver told me several have converted to electric and that is what I am in the process of doing ASAP. Everyone is looking for reliefe but we are in a area without competition.

Poor customer service
Ameragas skipped my delivery area and leaving me without any gas for the coming week due to the weather and that I live in an area with dirt roads. I informed them that there were two other companies doing deliveries in my area that day since I saw them drive past my house. They stated that they missed a lot of deliveries that day due to the weather and they will be out there on their next scheduled date. I was given the option to pay $170 to have the driver come out there today and fill my tank. They were told no thank you, my account was canceled, and I went with a new company that has a BBB rating of A+, is a member of ethicalaz, and has much better prices for gas, tank rental, will make up any missed deliveries if any happen and will not want to charge you to make up for their missed deliveries.
