Emergency electricians are a rip off, beware.
A call out ends in financial overcharging as the electrician firstly replaces parts that are not faulty, secondly charges almost R600 for a part that retails for less than R100 at the local hardware.
When complaining to the "call out company", the response is that the call-out electricians can charge whatever they want (and apparently this is law???)
The work is done, the power is on and you get hit with a fat bill and need to pay COD/EFT immediately.
The invoice is on the call out company's name. The bank account is on the company's name. The contact numbers are all from the company BUT THE OVERCHARGING IS THE CALL OUT ELECTRICIANS PREROGATIVE.
Be very careful who you call out for any electrical work. This company also does plumbing and it scares me to think what rip off is passed on to someone with a leaking pipe in urgent need of repair!
