Poor service
've shifted my household goods from Bangalore to Pune and to do this job although I had a lot of quotations ranging from 8000-- to 15000--, I chose the ANZ packers and movers for 17000-- just because they had a branch in more than one city (including in Pune) in India and their representative Mr. Samir was a very polished and cunningly smart man to bag the contract. He showed me a lot of photos showing how well they pack and transport which got me in his trap.


He promised me that they will start packing at 11:00 am and it will finish at 4:00 PM. It really started at 11:00 AM but just with two guys. Naturally it finished a lot late at 9:00 PM. But that was just the beginning of my sufferings.


All the professionalism promised to me vanished when they lifted and brought down my refrigerator in topdown manner which subjected to a risk of coolant leakage. The handling of even crockery boxes was as if they were throwing the featherlike cushions.

Anyways, they were wise and smart enough to take all the money in advance so that they can go away with all the risk.


They promised me that my luggage will reach the destination in Pune in 2 days, and the goods once loaded at my house would directly unload at the destination address. But it took actually 3 days. Why, because they stopped the vehicle for one more day in Bangalore, took out my two bikes and loaded somebody else's luggage on top of mine. In this process, my wooden table top was completely damaged and the STEEL rack for kitchen use was broken. One can imagine the method of handling goods if the Steel rack breaks. But that's nothing as compared to the state of my electronic equipments and other stuffs.


It was raining heavily when they unloaded the other person's luggage throwing out my luggage in Open. This caused all the boxed including the ones which had costly silk sarees, microwave oven, TV getting completely immersed in water. When we lifted the boxes, they just broke down from the bottom spreading all the material on ground. We had to wrap the boxes in bed-sheet to get them upstairs in house one by one.


When I open the TV, water was dripping down from its panel. The moment I plugged in and switched on my microwave oven, it tripped the whole house electricity. The computer table is broken in 2 pieces. And yes, the two bikes were missing from the luggage.


After going through all these trauma's when I complained the person (Samir) whom I'd given contract, he asked me to call Mr. Atik. This person never answered on mobile. Then calling back Samir again, he asked me to call his transportation manager Mr. Raju. He says, sir we have put the tarpaulin, what else can we do? When I asked him if he had taken care, how did my luggage got wet, then he says sorry we can not do anything.


When I tell him, I have taken insurance of 50000-- for the luggage, and I want the compensation, he hangs up. When I call back Samir, he starts using abusive language. He bluntly says nothing of this sort has happened. In his words “Driver xxxx hai kya jo TV me pani daalega?” When I asked him where are my bikes, he said “Gaadi me jagah nahi to kya bike todkar daloon?” The behavior was so insulting that I could not ask him if there was space in the truck to load the bikes at my house, where does he find no space for bike on the way.


When I tell him give me back my bikes and the compensation for broken and damaged stuff since I have paid 2.5% extra for the insurance, he just refuses. On threatening that I will go to the police tomorrow if he does not give my bikes, he simply says why do you waste time by going tomorrow. Go right now!


After getting such an insulting and abusive treatment, I left it to God to get back my bikes. The bikes did come but after 10 days and that too not through ANZ transport. It came through some cheap Bright Cargo and stacked in horizontal position one atop other. As expected, the front suspension worth 3000-- is broken, the front headlamp unit made of fiber worth 2000-- is in two pieces, the mud-flap in the bottom is removed from one hinge and twisted to bring it on one side hanging in air. On the second scooter, the handle is bent, the indicators are broken and the footrest is removed.


When called back to the transporter, he says they can compensate at the most 1000-- for a loss of more than 15000--.


I have never faced such an insulting response in my life and there's absolutely no way out I can see to get the justice. If anybody knows how can I take care of these guys, please let me know. Is there anyway I show these guys that they have charged me 17000-- and they should give service in that accordance? Please help me out here!
