I received a phone call a few days ago from a woman. She knew my name, address, and the last 4 digits of my credit card number.

The woman told me I have been an excellent customer and that I applied for a rewards program. She said I had my card for a long time. Then asked if I would like to join the program.

She said there was no obligation and there was only a 1 dollar activation fee to start earning my rewards. I said sure only because my credit card does offer a rewards program.

After that she went on and on about how they were going to charge me only one dollar and needed me to say yes repeatedly. Wellllll confused I asked her if she was indeed from my bank.

She answered no! I then went on to ask her how she got my card number and my personal information. She said I had recently ordered from her sister company. I very very rarely order online maybe only three times in a year.

She then had me hold while she pushed a bunch of buttons and then rambled on and on about me accepting a charge of $14.00 a month for my program and the at no obligation and then after a few months to $29.00 a month!

I had no clue what she was even trying to sell me! I then went on to ask her if she had my full credit card number and she said 'no, we do *not* have your number only the last four digits'.

So I simply said no thanks and I hung up.

Well she totally lied to me!!! I had a strange charge on my card today and it was from them. So I had to call the bank and cancel my account. I'm just glad I caught it!

People please beware of this and if they contact you or they show up on a statement please call your bank right away!
