Apartmentstores.com is a problem!
We used apartmentstores.com to purchase moving lead information beginning in March 1, 2006. Leads are purchased on a 90 day cycle. Less than 45 days later, on April 13th, I emailed my contact at Apartmentstores.com and informed her that I questioned the quality and quantity of the leads

Hi Jennifer,
I think it’s time to look at the quality and quantity of the apartment store leads. I’m not seeing the justification for the purchase and I would like to receive a refund for the full amount.
Best Regards,
Richard
Basically, the leads were not of the quality that was represented and the number of leads, or the volume, was not as was represented. At this point I asked about getting a refund of which I was told would not be possible.
It was my decision at that point to go ahead and continue the 90 day cycle as I felt it would be more hassle to try and get a refund half way through the program. I informed the representative that I would not want to renew but will go ahead and finish the cycle out.
The cycle ended on about June 1st. In June I noticed my credit card had been charged for another cycle. I immediately sent an email to my representative which she responded that she would check into this right away and have the charges reversed.

Hi Jennifer,
I noticed that apartmentstores.com invoiced me $375 for a renewal. This was not authorized. Please have this charge reversed.
Best Regards,
Richard
I trusted her comments and didn’t give it much more thought. I would note that I did get a phone call from someone in June of 2006 saying she was reversing the charges. I didn’t take note of the persons name since this occurred during the time period in June when my account rep told me she would get the charges reversed.
In July I noticed they had once again charged the credit card. I sent another email to the representative informing her that the charges were showing up again.

Hi Jennifer,
I would like to know why I am still being billed for this service. I asked that this be stopped almost 3 weeks ago. I want this charge reversed.
Regards,
Richard
At this point I had no further responses from the representative. I then called the company, Apartmentstores.com and left a few messages. I sent a few emails on their company “fill in the form” type email and all have gone without response. I would suspect the company shut down but their website is still up and they are still charging credit cards.
Summary
I notified my account representative on April 13th I would not be renewing. On June 20th I noticed a renewal charge of $375.00 slipped through and notified the account rep to which she replied she would take care of it and get is reversed. Finally on July 7th I noticed the charge was back again and since that time I have not been able to get anyone at Apartmentstores.com to return my call, respond to my fax, email, or written letter via US Postal.
It is now November 2006 and I am looking at a credit card bill for October showing the charge is there again. It is become apparent they are trying to steal money from my account by invoicing me over and over with the hopes that I either won’t notice or will give up and pay.
