Apollo Van Lines Reviews

Fraudelnt Activity
I have had some personal items in this storage facility for about two years. I have had a few unprofessional encounters with them. The first was approximately 6 months after I was using their services. They claimed my items did not fit in the original space provided and advised the monthly storage rate agreed upon would double. When I voiced my disagreement with this, I was hung up on and they refused to take my calls. My fiance and I had to physically drive to their location, and ultimately because I could not afford to remove my items from their facility at that time, we agreed to split the difference in increase with them. Months later, they automatically charged a credit card they had on file from a previous payment for my storage bill that was due without my authorization. Their normal procedure was to send an invoice and I would be required to sign and either fax or email back the signed credit card authorization. This unauthorized charge ultimately resulted in overdraft fees incurred to me by my bank because I was both unprepared for and did not authorize this charge. When I called and spoke to the office manager and president, Edna Seltzer, I was told they would not refund the money, so once again, I had to just accept what was done since they had my items in their possession. Anytime I disagreed with any of their terms, they threatened to auction my personal items. About two weeks ago, although my bill was paid through February 28, Edna Seltzer called my place of work on 2/24 and left a message with my receptionist stating that if my items were not picked up and removed by that afternoon they would be sold at auction. Because I was away at the time, my fiance called her and made arrangements for my items to be removed and delivered by their company that Sunday, February 27th. On 2/27, no one from the company showed with my items. On 2/28, I called again and made arrangements for the delivery of my items for Tuesday, March 1st. The representative asked for a credit card for a $50 deposit to book the date. I gave him a new debit card # I had just received. On 3/14/11, my fiance recieved a call from Guitar Center to confirm 4 purchases made with this card # to the Apollo storage address for delivery in the amounts $534.99, $2751.30, $4068.97, and $6529.97. We then checked our checking account linked to this card # and found there was a purchase made using it in the amount of $1804.00 in Best Buy. The delivery address for the items purchased again was the address for Apollo storage. I have already filed a police report and will be pursuing this matter legally to the fullest extent allowable by law. I am filing this complaint so that these terrible business practices are brought to light, so that this will never happen to another of their customers again. I have worked for Toyota for eleven years and have been privy to many a customers private information, and so I am very familiar with the protective measures that must be taken to comply with the law with regards to an individuals personal information. However this occurred, this company is liable for not protecting my personal and private information as required by law.

very rude, unprofessional Liars
Beware of Apollo Van Lines, Mike Kehoe and Edna Seltzer.
I can't believe how rude and unprofessional this company is to it's callers.
First they Lied to me about the names of thier employee's, and hung up on me repeatedly.
The male secretary who answers the phone claimed to be a "ex police officer" and a "police detective", and was very rude and unprefessional. When I asked to speak with the owner of the company and asked the owner's name, he said the owner of the company was named "owner", and hung up .
It seemed like he was delighted in being rude to me, and like he was really enjoying himself in his little power display of hanging up on me.
Edna Seltzer also hung up on me and was very rude and unprofessional. I can't believe a company would play games like this to a caller, beware of Apollo Van Lines and Mike Kehoe and Edna Seltzer, if those are they're real names.
Why would a legitimate company lie about thier employee's names, unless they had something very illegitimate to hide.
I wish I read that Rip Off Report before calling this company Apollomovers.com

Extortion
Run away. Run very fast away. They are liars. Repeatedly and unabashedly. They promised a binding estimate, then doubled it once they had my stuff on trucks. Please do web reasearch here, there are tales all over the web of how Tony and the gang hosed them. Unless you are prepared to pay 2x what the "binding" estimate is (oh, and have some stuff stolen) then do not use them. They must prey on folks who don't do web research. Don't be a victim.

I am scared to use to many details for fear of my personal safety. I was verblly threatened by Apollo, and these are the sorts of people who cary out their threats. Please avoid for your safety.

Do not use them
If you doubt my words, go to the website consumeraffairs.com I did, but only after I hired Apollo Van Lines based upon the "honesty and integrity" of the salesman sent to my home to give me a binding estimate of the move. Well, he wasn't off by 10% or even 20%--it cost me double what he told me it would. And then, they would not deliver my stuff to me until I paid them the whole bill in money order or cash; if I had been allowed to pay by credit card, I could have disputed the bill and refused to pay...but they know this. Every complaint registered about them is ABSOLUTELY TRUE! And when you try to call them to discuss your concerns, the owner of the company is truly one of the rudest people I have ever encountered.
If you are looking for a horribly stressful move wherein a lot of your prozed possessions are broken, and the moving company won't pay the insurance claim (which is a legal contract), by all means hire Apollo. Otherwise, do not call them for your move, even if they are the last mover on earth. Don't be like me and check out the consumer affairs website after your move...you, like me, will be reading the complaints of others and saying..."Wow, that's exactly what happened to me." I cannot believe they are still in business...
