Just say no to Apple

Fraudelent Charges
I bought my son an iPod for Christmas and activated an iTunes account for him to use his gift cards, ONLY. Apple will not let you open an account, even if you are just using gift cards on the iTunes account, without providing a credit card. Great scam on Apple's part. My son swears that he was only downloading free applications, and when I went in to check his iPod history, indeed they were only free applications. So, how is it that my credit card is being charged anywhere from $10 to $170, recently??? Trying to navigate through the Apple website, to get to the specific "help" areas for the specific product (iPod, iPhone, iPad, iTunes...) was and still is a nightmare. They have a category for everything that opens 10 different windows in your browser. They tell you that if you go to the account information page, just click on the edit button to delete your credit card information - yet, there is no "edit button" that pops up!!! And, the support email that I received back from the customer service person was 3 pages long of possible options to correct this fraudalent charge problem and not one of the links opens or does what it is supposed to do, except open more windows in your browser.
All I wanted was to cancel this nightmare account, and Apple purposely makes it incredibly difficult to get out of their tangled web of products so that you are trapped and spending more $$$'s on their downloads. Ugh...I will never buy another Apple product again. Thankfully, I have a BlackBerry and am sticking with PC's all the way in protest of how we have been scammed by Apple. Apple comes up with all these little nifty products and people just eat it up, never noticing that their iTunes store is eating up your bank and/or credit card account.

Appleipod
Below is the link that was posted on my Facebook page. Supposedly I received this from a friend. The message was for a free ipod and said that she had just gotten a free ipod. She never sent the message. This company is using other peoples accounts to send this message.

Costmuer Service
I updated my Apple from iTunes, it then stopped working. So I called service, it is broken down to 3 different people:
1st, FAQ guy: He began reading me all the stuff on the Apple.com FAQ site. I explained I did all the different FAQ issues, and needed further help. He passes the buck to the next one.
2nd Customer girl: She told me that I DECLINED to self-fix my iPod, which I didn't I explained that I already did those self fix issues and it did not work. She told me that if I told get help from the service guy, I cannot be help. She then tells me my time is up and she'll extend it because she's nice.
3rd Service Genius: This guy went through all of the FAQ problems that I did beforehand. Nothing works through the iPod. So he says that through the research he collected, WITHOUT LOOKING AT THE IPOD NOR READING PASSED THE FAQ, that someting "is HIDDEN in the iPod that AWOKE when I updated it so its not Apple's fault". I explained that if I sold him a car then fine tuned it, which broke it, how could be the car owners fault? He becomes HOSTILE and tells me that I'm THREATING HIM WITH A LAWSUIT. I couldn't believe it, so I asked to talk to someone else. He says that "he's the highest that takes calls". So I guess no one above him uses phones, but some form of alien telepathic powers. In the end, I had to buy ANOTHER mp3 player. My adivce, NEVER EVER UPDATE YOUR IPOD FROM ITUNES, OR YOU'LL FACE THESE PEOPLE.
Thank You

iPod Servicing
My iPod recently lost the ability to access the music stored on it and would cause iTunes to freeze when opened. I took it in to see if it could be repaired or if I could at least recover the data. I was told that, while the iPod says that there is data still contained within it, it is no longer accessible. They took my iPod to reset it and make an attempt at fixing it. The 'genius' who was working with me returned and told me the iPod was out of order and I could order a replacement for around $130. I was skeptical and told them I would think about it. I took my iPod home, charged it and it is now working fine. I was nearly scammed into an unnecessary $130 dollar product by these people. Apple needs to get some new 'geniuses' or else choose a more fitting name. Be careful when dealing with this company. It is a shame no one else really makes comparable .mp3 players. Microsoft is close with the Zune, but hard disk space is low.

No Flash Support
The fact that as of May 1st, 2010, Apple is not supporting flash, I will not be recommending the ipod, iphone or ipad. Apple, in my opinion, has driven a nail in their own coffin and will not be getting my support for their actions.

control freaks!
I was so excited when I got my ipod shuffle! It was the coolest thing to have all that music at my fingertips. I went to my brothers house and wanted to look at my account... maybe buy some songs... and the ipoid I tunes was asking me if I wanted to delete the entire contents of the ipod for the library. Or visa versa... What the hell is that?
At another location I tried using their computer to access my account. They asked if I wanted to make that one of my FIVE allowed computer?
On ebay I bought 200 songs really cheap. I usd 75 right away. I wanted to buy someone a gift card. I CANT USE MY ACCOUNT to buy I gift card! I need a credit card!
I wanted to gift someone a song. I CANT USE MY ACCOUNT to gift a song! I need a credit card!
On their chat forum I tried to complain what greedy beeps they were. They wouldn't let it post. They must get SO MANY COMPLAINTS that they had to hire people to sit and weed out the bad posts.
[Thank you Complaints Board]
Apple is over the top with their greedy, manipulating, money grubby electronic devices and company policies!
GET ANY OTHER MP3 PLAYER!
NOT AN IPOD!

IPod repairs
About 3 weeks ago I sent my IPod to them for repair. They diagnosed the problem and sent me a repair estimate within a couple of days and I authorized the repair. That was when the problems began. I was led to believe the unit would be repaired promptly and returned to me. It took almost two weeks to get the unit back after numerous unanswered e-mails and hours of waiting to get through to them by phone. When the IPod came back it wasn't the same serial number as the one I sent to them. I was told my IPod would be repaired as I had authorized, I didn't want or authorize them to give me some other IPod in its place. Thankfully it works, although all the data and music stored on it are gone. I will never send anything else to them for repair.

5 Replacements, no reason
I got an apple ipod photo 5 years ago. In the first six months the ipod died and i had it replaced. Over the next 4 years i had it replaced 4 more times, every time being between 9 months and a year.
Thankfully i had it on the extended warranty or else after two years i would've been iPod-less. Finally it died one more time, and we were off of the warranty. We complained to apple, and they gave us a rebate only for their online store, so when we went into the apple store in person, we were embarassed to find that they would not accept the coupon. Online, they still questioned the rebate and we had to argue with them too. Finally we got another ipod and now we're hoping it won't freeze so i won't have to reload all the songs and get another warranty.
