I ordered an unlocked iPhone from the Apple Specialist on 15 August via their website and used my credit card as paymnt. This was shown on their website as "pending" for about 2 weeks, after this time it showed a message that they had been unable to charge my card as it had been rejected by my bank and they suggested sending a bank credit to a bank in London. As I wanted to use the protection of the card, I then gave them my home address which was registered with my bank so that it would go through - there was no problem with funds on the card. On 9 September I received my Credit Card bill and noticed the Apple Specialist had charged £95.26 which was $150.00 I immediately emailed them in Newark and was told that if they cannot get payment within 7 days they cancel the order and in accordance with their Terms & Conditions charge $150.00 cancellation fee. On their website the order was now shown as "canceled". I have sent them a number of emails asking them to fulfill my order or refund the $150.00. Yesterday I received an invoice for an iPhone and showing $150 paid. I have not had any reply to my emails so sent another email today.
Apple, UK Card issuers and the Newark Police Department should be aware of this ripoff.
Be warned - do not order anything from The Apple Specialist trading as Apple-Labs.com
