Awful experience
Today, Veteran's Day, my friend and I visited the Applebee's at 660 Whitney Way in Madison, Wisconsin to take advantage of their offer of free dining for Veterans. We were greeted by a surly waiter who treated us like two poor freeloaders. He was terse and rude in the extreme and twenty minutes after he took our order from the small menu of five selections we were offered, he slammed down our sodas and told us that he had somehow lost our order. We stared at him in disbelief and then reordered. He never apologized and we waited another twenty minutes while people who had arrived after us were being served by this same waiter. He never checked to see how we were. I told the Manager who finally had to serve us our meals and he was apologetic but when we stated that we would never eat at any Applebee's he just kept repeating himself, as if from a script. To Applebees, we did not exist, nor, unfortunately, did the free lunch!

Terrible Food, Terrible Service
After my family and I visited Applebee's for dinner last night, we agreed we will NEVER go back. The taste of the food was so bad that all four of us could not even eat our meals. To top it off, we were all running to the bathroom when we got home and felt miserable the whole night.

Also beware when they ask "what side you would like with your meal" and name all the choices, they purposely neglect to tell you that most all of their suggestions are EXTRA. They are trained to make it sound like it's simply part of your options.

And the service...forget about it. The only time we saw our waitress after the initial order was while she leaned up on the planter chatting with a single customer and looking at the tattoo of another employee. Other servers brought all of our food and I waited 20 minutes just to get my drink order.

Didn't have me at hello!
I recently went to the Applebee's in Chillicothe, Mo. with my husband. We do not live in the area so we weren't prepared for the horrible host service. He is 72 and walks with assistance from a large walker, I am 67 and had to try hard to hold the door open for my husband while THREE YOUNG ladies stood WATCHING. I did NOT appreciate this. Where we come from, if and elderly couple is going out to dinner at our Applebee's, we are treated with the upmost respect and care. If the management at this Chillicothe Applebee's knew that their employees weren't doing their job, I'm sure they would be dissapointed. The servers did well and the food was fine but our dining experience was ruined because of how it started.

UNFAIRLY TREATED EMPLOYEE
MY COMPLAINT IS HOW APPLEBEE'S PICK FAVORITES!!! THERE ARE CERTAIN EMPLOYEES THAT CAN GET 57 HOURS IN A PAY PERIOD AND OTHERS WHO THEY WON'T ALLOW 4 HOURS ON THE JOB IN ONE DAY!!! HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE???!!! THE ONE NOT ALLOWED TO WORK 4 HOURS HAS BILLS AND A FAMILY JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE! HOW CAN ANOTHER PERSON GET 57 HOURS ??!!
MY NEXT COMPLAINT IS: WHY IS THERE NO COMPLAINT SITE FOR EMPLOYEES?? I HAD TO COME HERE TO COMPLAIN AND IT PROBABLY WON'T DO ANYTHING!!! MOST LIKELY, I'LL CONTINUE TO BE TREATED UNFAIR!!!

great place
This is NOT a complaint. Every time I go to this resturant the employees' are truly glad to see us. They have taken the time to find out or names, and even remember our favorite items we order. The manager Debbie, comes and speaks to us, also remembering our names, every time she is there. We are older and on a tight budget but this is the place we choose to splurge and bring our family and friend when in town.
I feel more people should tell good stories not just the bad ones. Life it to short, learn from that y ou youngins!!haha

Service
We had to wait 35 minutes to get our bill, even though we asked both the server and the manager to get it to us. A complaint filed online with the restaurant yielded not even so much as a "sorry." It wasn't our first bad experience at Applebee's but I think it will be our last because we don't intend to return. They don't seem to realize that a little customer service can go a long way.

coupons for buying gift certificates
I have been going to Applebee's for years. I bought over $300.00 worth of gift cards. In return I recieved food certificates . I went on Friday and had lunch. I used 4 coupons nothing was said. I went Sunday to eat lunch with my sister-inlaw. When the bill came and I went to use my coupons, the manager came back and said i could only use 2. They never said they had to be used like that when I got them. And Friday nothing was saidwhen I used 4 of them Friday. I feel this is really sad when we're not allowed to use our coupons the way we want. I was so upset that day. I doubt if I buy any gift cards there again. I was very disappointed by these actions.

Bad Food
I just returned home from dining at our local Applebee's. First I do not want any credit or gift certificate. I am contacting you only to make you aware that one of your stores is not measering up in the quality of food I have come to expect from Applebee's.
I purchaed a Burbon Street steak at the Jacksonville, Illinois Applebee's and it was without a doubt the worst piece of meat I have ever eaten. I did not complain at the time because the waitress was excellent and i knew she could do nothing about the extremelt poor quality of meat purchased at this restaurant. I am only contacting you because someone has invested in this establishment and needs to know there is a big problem at this location. I will not go back to this Applebee's!

food
I went to Applebee's today after trying to get my husband to go for a long time. When I was working I went there many Friday's to eat after work. I had enjoyed the food and also had to wait in line to get in, but it was worth the wait. Today no lines, I wonder why. That was in the days when money was flowing.

When we got the food I was shocked by what they considered Chicken. The chicken was processed. It was spongy and tasteless and if you looked at it from the side you could easily see the holes in the processed chicken meat if you want to call it that. Chicken is chicken. The ceaser salad and fries were okay. When I went to pay the waitress asked how the food was and I made the mistake of saying the chicken was garbage.

I wanted to pay my bill and get out of there, but the manager came to hear what was wrong and I told her that was not chicken but processed food. She started to argue that it was regular chicken and I said no it isn't and I didn't care to argue with her. Her great concern was why I didn't complain when she came to my table before. I wasn't eating the chicken at that time. When she continued to hold me up I said I wanted the check and wanted to leave. She acted annoyed. Sorry.

The waitress was the only thing that was refreshing and worth the tip which she did get. You can be sure that Applebee's will not be one of my stop's again.

Terrible experience
On October 3rd of 2008, I went to my local Applebee's and order Chicken Parmesan to go, which I have ordered numerous times before. When I got home, 5 minutes away, I was very very unhappy with the quality of the food. I immediately went online to Applebees.com and filled out a complaint form. They promised to reply within 2-3 business days, but never contacted me. The next week, I sent a few more messages to their site, but still never got a reply. On Saturday, October 11th, I called the home office at the number listed on the receipt (which I gave to one of the managers the next day). Again, I got no response, no phone call, no e-mail, nothing. So on Sunday, October 12th, I went to the restaurant to speak to a manager. I spoke to Michael. He claimed George, the GM, tried to call me at work but that 'I was no longer employed there'. This was an outright lie, as I didn't even give Applebee's my work number or name of company! So Michael took my cell phone number, and George called me the next day. So, on Monday, October 13th, George called and apologized for what I had been through and for the poor quality of my order. He promised to contact his district office and have them send me some gift cards for my troubles and unhappiness. I assumed he would call or e-mail them the next day. Well, Wednesday came and nothing in my mailbox. Thursday, nothing. Friday, still nothing. And again, NO phone calls, NO e-mails, NO nothing. I have spent countless hours e-mailing, on the phone, and driving around just trying to get this poor quality food issue resolved. I've been constantly ignored, never contacted by anyone at the corporate level, never re-compensated for the $11.99 I spent, and even put up with a rude hostess.
