I went to apply for employment @ Fallas Parades Store located on 2334 Boca Chica Blvd. and I filled out an application .. And I got called suddenly on November 20, 2007 w/o an interview being done by the store manager or supervisor, who gave her name only as " Sandra" . These were her words that she used during our telephone conversation which was unprofessional.

"You need to report to work by 9:00 am! You need a red polo-shirt and either khaki or black pants!"

My reply:
-I'm sorry but I don't have a red polo shirt and don't have the money to buy one right now.

" Well!, we have some here for $3.99 in the mens' deppartment"

-I'm sorry but again I don't have the money right now.

"In that case if you don't have a red shirt by tomorrow morning then don't even bother showing up for work. I'll just take you off the schedule!"

She then simply hung up with out giving me a chance to respond, or ask if there was anything else that I could possibly wear until I could purchase a red polo shirt. This was unexpected and she handled the situation poorly. I was willing to attempt to work, using perhaps an other type of red shirt, but she did not allow me that opportunity and discouraged me from even returning to the store.
