Some of the statements in this complaint are misleading. Such as the one about the steel not being setback correctly. In fact the customers survey was incorrect. The survey was incorrect when initially presented to us with respect to the location of the fence. The customer even had it changed to reflect a different location. This created one of the myriad of problems with the permit process. The customer speaks to the 2 year period since the contract was signed. Lets talk about the 2 years of building department debacles. It has cost this company thousands of dollars in lost revenue as well as the increasing cost of the material that were never charged to the customer even though we have such a clause in the contract.
If anything if you live or are a contractor in Coral Gables please be aware of the building department. The process of taking a permit through this building department as well as the way they conduct their inspections is utterly unprofessional. I suggest you just drop by the building department on any day about 7:30 am and speak to anyone there about there permit experience and they will tell you the same.
