Archie B Carter was contracted to complete requested masonry work on our home. He was proved two of three draws up front ($4700.00) to help with what he said were his costs to repair his equipment for the work we were having done. After he received the money Mr Carter informed us that he had several other jobs that he had to complete but it would detour him from ours. He started the work on our home, got about less than and 1/8 of the work done on our home and we haven't seen him since. After numerous calls to Mr Carter he stated he probably would not be able to perform the work to our expectation.
After hearing this form Mr Carter we demanded he refund of our money since he was refusing to complete he work, He stated that it didnt work that way and hung up...
We have continued to leave messages for Mr Carter to return our call and our money. We have yet to receive a call nor our money back. We are now forced to take him to small claims court.
A very poor way to conduct business..
Suggestions: Do not provide a draw to a contractor regardless of their situation.
If contractor can't fund the job themselves they probably have money issues and you'll get less than what you paid for anyway, SO MOVE ON to another contractor...
