Unethical business!
Ardent is an unethical business. It will take advantage of tenants and drive up costs in addition to the deceptively low rent. Caveat Emptor: Tenants should avoid any property managed by Ardent. I represent many landlords and other property management companies. To date, I know of no company that is worse than Ardent Property Management. Thus, prospective tenants should go elsewhere. Current tenants should leave at the first moment their lease ends. You can find ethical landlords and businesses around Columbus and its outlying suburbs that will treat you with respect as a valued customer. The facts are telling - Ardent has had so many complaints against it filed with the Better Business Bureau based upon these unethical practices that it has stopped responding. The BBB can provide renters with information concerning the extent of Ardent's behavior, as well as point such renters in the right direction regarding ethical landlords/property management companies. Further, the Attorney General's Office has fielded similar complaints against Ardent. What more proof does one need?

Treatment of residents
I was a resident here for 9 months. I am a single mother of two young children. I had been laid off so I contacted the person responsible for handling lease arrangements for the company. I asked if there was any way we could work out a plan while I searched for jobs. He called me a "f###ing idiot", said he'd sue me, then he hung up on me. I had not even been late on my rent yet. I was just asking questions to prepare. When I contacted the office to express my concern of the treatment they laughed and said "yeah that's how he is." I will never rent from Ardent Properties again.

Unethical and fraudulent charges
STAY AWAY FROM ARDENT COMMUNITIES! Ardent, formerly known as "Triangle" is a complete joke of a company. I have been in property management for more than 20 years and have never seen such unethical and poor service in a community. As a renter of more than 15 years, and inspecting apartments after residents move out, I truly don't know how this company gets away with the crap that they do. After living at FIELDSTONE TRACE apartments in Westerville, Ohio for 2.5 years, I receive a bill for almost $1000.00! Due to the old age of FIELDSTONE TRACE, the company had decided to finally start upgrading the interiors as they had the old gold colored countertops, dark brown cabinets, faucets and light fixtures that were at least 25 years old. Well, because the company is the cheap one that it is, they are actually charging the resident for the upgrades as they moveout! Sadly, not all people know their rights as a resident. Being in the industry for so long, I know this isn't possible. A person cannot be charged unless there are actual damages. If the apartment is returned in the same condition it was received, absolutely no way can the landlord expect the departing resident to pay for the turn costs of the upgrade. If you are one of these people, don't take it, fight it as far as you have to go. We cannot let this ridiculous company continue to rip people off. Check out "Ripoffreport.com" and the BBB and the Attorney General site etc. The numerous reports filed against this company is endless!

Abuse of consumer
We rented from Sawmill Crossing Apartments in the same apartment for four years and despite leaving the apartment clean, were charged over $800 after moving out.Would anyone live in an apartment four years with nothing on the walls, rugs, etc??? We are in our 50s, not people who party, etc. I saw the carpet they use (light beige) for 50 cents a square foot - that is consumer price on sale!! Their apartments look nice but it is the cheapest of everything and if you rent from them, when you leave YOU will be paying to put the apartment back in "pristine" condition for the next person. This happens to many who leave unless the apartment is perfect as we have seen other complaints posted and hope to see so many that they will have to stop what we consider a sad abuse of the consumer.
