Bath Screen
Having ordered my Bath Screen 8months ago, it finally turned up yesterday, but it was broken, and parts missing. I thought it was too good to be true. The customer service team at Argos was very kind, and helpful, shame about the company who makes the Bath Screen. watch this space?.

never got sale products in stock
it seems like argos does a lot of false advertising on there sale products, whenever the product u r after and u see it on promotion when u actually go to the store to get it they dont have it in stock and they dont get it in stock until the promo has come of!! what is the point of having the product on sale if they dont hold any in stock surely they would have loads in stock as thats why there is a sale on it to sell more of it!! this has happened on a number of occasions to me and it has really started to hack me of!!

Refund (lack of)
I bought a Flymo lawnmower, then on opening the box decided it was too small for my garden, so returned to the store for a refund. They examined it and told me it had been used and there was no refund. I told them It wasn't me had used it. May as well have talked to the wall. The assistant had this smug look on her face as if she was accusing me of lying. So, off to email customer services. Huh. Fat chance. Now they have my money and sold me a second hand mower that's of no use to me whatsoever. Will never but from them again. Amazon is cheaper.

Don't buy from them
I bought a laptop from Argos in November, it worked for two weeks then the screen broke.
Argos refused to replace it claiming it had been misused. The laptop had never even left the house and had only been used in a correct manner at all times. I had to pay £117 for a repair they carried out to the screen. I was without my laptop for six weeks when I finally received it back and powered it up the screen remained blank. They are still refusing to refund my money. I have been without my laptop for two months now.
Customer service is shocking

Treated like second class citizen
I went to Argos to buy a bed, then went to the counter and placed my order. He was asked my name and i said justin oneill. The counter attendant smirked and asked how you would spell that. After several non-existent oneill spellings, i told him. i asked has he never heard of that spelling. It’s the biggest name in ulster. he said no. My order was not in stock and i was told they can’t sell me anything that’s not in stock.

which i believe picked another bed. I stood for a while and the guy previous that took my order whispered to another guy that then served me. I was told to take a till right beside another employee that was fixing a light. The employee took my order and same again asked me to spell my name. All are laughed.

I really find it hard to believe that anyone from ulster, northern ireland can’t spell one of the biggest names. Sports pages oneills on every Gaelic top. Not to mention surfing, skiing. I just happen to have a name that’s been in conflict with their past. Because of this i was treated like a second class citizen. Nothing will come of this. But if it happens again please bring this up.

Faulty goods
I bought an Acer Aspire One Notebook on 8th December 2010, at the time of purchase i was informed that it was exempt from the 30 day guarantee, but that if a fault developed I could either, have a replacement or a refund, which I thought was fine. It has since developed several faults, on 22nd of January 2011 my Husband took it back to the store I had bought it from for a refund, as I did not want a replacement in case the same faults developed on a new one. He was told in no uncertain terms that a refund would not be given nor would they replace it. They would however send it away to be fixed but that I would have to pay all costs. My Husband was told that this was the new policy of the company. If this is the case I for one will think very carefully about any future purchases I make from Argos, if I make any at all.

delivery
We will never ever go to Argos again for home delivery. To cut a long story short, delivery men (x2) wiped greasy hands all over the walls on the stairway when moving a mattress from the van into the house. When they got the mattress upstairs they then proceeded to take PHOTOGRAPHS of the bedrooms!!! They said it was for evidence that the house has small rooms and they had difficulties getting the mattress up the stairs, so would report this to their managers. I will leave it to your imagination as to WHY they were taking photographs, my partner asked them to stop and they refused. I rang Argos today and asked if it was common practice/policy for their drivers to take photos of inside the house (and were found out), they refused to comment. To be continued...
Anyone else who has had similar experiences, please add to this.

non delivery from argos after 54 days
my husband ordered a sofa from argos online, they said it would be delivered by the 8th of oct, which is 35 days from when we paid in full for it, on the 5th, 3 days before delivery date they phoned to say they have not any in stock and that they will have it to me by the 27th, which is 54 days after we paid and ordered it. now today THE 27TH, they phone to say they still have none in stock and wont be getting any. i think after waiting 54 days we should have been informed earlier than today, its disgusting. the service is rubbish, the people on the phone are rude and not at all helpfull, and they have the cheek to refuse me a refund as my husband ordered it. i will never buy from them again and advise all who read this to do the same
