We bought a new Ariston fridge (model no.MT-4511) in 2006 from one of the most reputable outlets in Dubai (Jacky's). We were informed that all refrigerators carry a 5 year warranty on the compressor.
After 2 years, the fridge stopped working because the compressor was blown.
We called the authorised Ariston agents in Dubai (co. name ETA) - spoke to the service manager who was extremely brash and rude and he curtly informed us that Ariston carries only a one year warranty on the fridge and compressor and that there is nothing they can do about it.
We contacted the Customer Care team (Indesit) in UK in an attempt to escalate this issue to the head office. They confirmed that Ariston compressors do carry a 5 yr warranty but could do nothing about issues outside the UK. Is the company not interested in what their authorised agents in another part of the world is doing for the reputation of their brand and products ?
Fed up, we went looking for a new fridge and in 3 big outlets in Dubai, when we inquired about Ariston, they informed us that they do not keep Ariston products any more. Why am I not surprised ? (not that I intend to buy another Ariston ever).
