Horrible Service
Do not use this insurance company. They take advantage of military and DOD people. I was using them until today. I originally had USAA and switched to AFI in March of 2010. Well that was a big mistake. In August 2010, I called in to find out about my payment because I received a letter saying that I didnt owe anything for August. When I got a rep. she told me that the information that I received was correct, that because I dropped one car and added a new car the newer car was cheaper, therefore, giving me a credit of 2 dollars and no payment was due for August. Well I called a couple more times and got told the same story. Well this month October 2010, I received a bill for 2 months at one time. I called them and they told me that it is due to not paying for August. Although, it was all noted that they told me that I did not have a payment, they were still going to make me pay August anyways. I became really angry and informed them, that I dont think its fair that they are making the customer pay the penalty for their mistake even after it is noted that I called in several times inquiring about the payment in August. AFI did not care to listen to me, all they cared about was money. Therefore, I dropped them as of today and went with another insurance provider. Of course they made me pay for insurance up to the point I dropped them or I wouldve had a lapse...I was glad to pay the $73 to get rid of this trouble "ghetto" company. I advise everyone to stay away from them. They have a high turn-over rate in customer service reps and clients. Even the last customer service rep. told me to switch, she said it wasnt fair what AFI was doing and even advised me to switch and said she would do the same-thing if she was in my position. Dont let this company suck you in with their low cost. You will have alot of problems and will find out too late. I changed insurance providers and only have to pay $7 a month more for the same coverage with a better insurance company. Stay AWAY FROM AFI...
