I am complaining about a lie told to me to get me to buy an extended warranty at Arnie Bauer Cadillac GMC Truck Buick Pontiac, fraud. I was told that if I did not get the extended warranty, that my interest rate would be higher and I would end up paying the same amount of money any how. I did not want the extended warranty but believed the lie and figured if I am going to pay the money any how, that I might as well get the extended warranty. I even came in after the first bill to clarify the issue with the extended warranty to be told the same lie that the extended warranty would lower the interest rate.
Then in the winter, when I attempted to get the car refinanced, the banker at USBANK told me that extended warranties did not affect interest rates. I at the time, just figured that she must be mistaken and that surly, I would not be told such a bold flat out lie. Then right before vacation this fall, a sales representative from Buick, who is a friend of mine, informed of the lie. He told me it was a common “scam” of Buick representatives to get people to buy extended warranties by lying to them that the extended warranty lowers interest rates. So I called USBANK who repeatedly assured me that extended warranty’s were add ons and would not effect interest rates. That was when I was sure fraud was committed by the Buick representative who told me clearly, that an extended warranty would lower the interest rate. USBANK refuses to take any action against the fraud they profited from.
Next, I called the Buick Corporation to make a complaint. They filed the complaint and assured me that they would contact Arnie Bauer Cadillac GMC Truck Buick Pontiac then get back to me with any relevant developments. Corporate also told me that I could get the warranty cancelled if I went through various steps. I went through those steps to be told that I could not get my warranty cancelled until the lean holder was paid in full. I do not have the money to pay the lean holder in full so in effect, I can not get the warranty cancelled. I also will have to pay for the time the warranty was in effect even though fraud was used to sell to me the warranty. In other words, Buick will not take responsibility for fraud committed by individual employees in their network, but Buick will reap the benefits of fraud committed by Buick representatives.
So after a couple of weeks of Corporate not getting in touch with me and Buick instructions wasting my time, I contacted the BBB. I have informed Buick of the crime as well as sending the Buick Corporation a letter of the complaint. My time is valuable, so I fell no obligation to take instructions from a corporation who will not do what it takes end, immoral business practices, by it’s representatives or take the instruction from a car dealer who representative committed fraud to get over 1500.00 dollars out of me for a warranty that will in all likely hood do me no good. I suspect I can not even get the road side assistance for the car that is not in my name. That is another story. I had some mistakes on my credit score so I was told if I put the car in my mothers name, I would have no problem getting the car refinanced latter on in my name. I now have a good credit score but can’t get the car refinanced at this time. So I am spending thousands of dollars that I will get no credit for on my credit score.
I did contract Buick about the violation. I called Buick yesterday, who has it on record they did call and get in touch with a sales man ay Arnie Bauer. Then the Buck representative said they called Arnie Bauer Cadillac GMC Truck Buick Pontiac several times to ask for the business manager to be told that he was not available. At any rate, according to Buick they were contacted and refused to respond. I feel no obligation to correct the incompetence of Buick representatives or help the man who committed fraud against me and the organization who has employed this man. I do feel responsibility as a citizen to inform other citizens and relevant authorities about those who steal, lie and con middle class and poor citizens.
I will not be content justice is done until offending parties are stopped from committing fraud AGAINST OTHER USA CITIZENS, and my money is refunded for the warranty. I am unlikely to do business with Buick again unless some sort or reparation is given for all the time and anxiety these immoral actions have caused.
Below is a response by Arnie Bauer to the BBB. Typical? Notice the misspellings when ever he contradicts what I know happened. Fraud was committed and Buick claims they did get a hold them informing them of the complaint.
