I got accepted to AIA and was so excited. I did not do my homework until about a year in. By that I mean I did not research reviews and their success rating. The education was horrible and the curriculum was horrible. I am now graduated and have been looking for a job since July 2010. I did not receive the necessary knowledge in order to find a job in my field of "interactive media design." The curriculum did not even have a photoshop class! I took about 5 classes in illustrator, though! When I graduated I thought I was ready but I was not! I have been turned away for every single job I've applied for because I do not have the knowledge I need. So now I am trying to teach myself things and find another cheaper college to go to and try and take classes. Did I mention I'm also over $100, 000 in debt to this school?
The student housing was also horrible! They put us in downtown Atlanta, 45 minutes from the campus and in a very bad part of town that many people called "the projects." We had 4 roommates to an apartment and we still each had to pay $966 a month. The apartments did not even have carpet. They smelled like urine and weed. Our neighbors partied all night. While I was there, I witnessed a boy beat up his girlfriend, an attempted shooting, and my roommate's car got broken into!
