On August 8, 2010 I went in to the TJ Maax store in Fort Gratiot MI. I purchased items over $50.00. One item I purchased was the Artisan Coffee which had a sticker on it for 1.69. I figured this was marked down so that is why I got it..However, when I got home I saw it was 4.99 so I went back to the store to get the difference in the money. The cashier told me that was the wrong sticker on the coffee and she said she did not know where or how it got there and I said I don't either as I just came for my refund and she said I would not get a refund. She tore the sticker off and then proceeded to call another cashier and that cashier told me the same thing. I said when a sticker is on a product regardless you have to sell it for that and she said well I am not and was not going to give me the sticker that was on the coffee to begin with. I asked her for the sticker and she said I have to keep it and I said no you give me back the sticker and she argued back and forth and I persited she give me the sticker which was on the coffee. Finally she gave me the sticker but would not give me the different in price. I know why she did not want to give me the sticker as then I would not have any proof as to what was on the coffee. I wish to have a refund in difference in what I paid for it. It is only right as any other store when merchandise is marked wrong they have to give it to you for the sticker price. I will not purchase any more items from that store and I have spent many dollars in there and will also inform others to watch out how the store tries to scam us who are on a limited income. Please help me with this situation..I think I was right and the store should honor the sticker price...
Hope you will check into this matter. I know it is not that big of an amount of money but it is the idea of how I was treated in such a rude manner. It was not my fault and I figure I was doing what is right...
Some of those cashiers think they know all the rules and regulations...if other stores have to honor when a wrong occurs TJ Maax should too.
Please inform me what to do about this matter.
Thank you ... Theresa
