I got an Octavia Fantazia model 2010 in Oct 2009, i wanted the ultimate of it with GPS/DVD like columbus, car alarm as the car was not cheap but i was told by the sales that the elegance is the highest category that comes to Egypt and it include the bolero with 6 cd exchanger and no alarm. I took his word as granted, few weeks later i saw in the newspaper that artoc auto has fantasia with GPS/DVD and car alarm!!!
I contacted the salesperson, he advised that i can go to the sevice center and they can replace my bolero for few amount of money and they will take the bolero and the car alarm can be easily installed.
I went to the service center to do as advised, and there, they told me the GPS/DVS will cost over 13, 000.00 LE and the car alarm is very expensive and don't have it, that was late 2009, i even complaint to artoc auto about this way of treating customer and providing wrong info but i got no response, i even complaint to skoda themselves in tchec replublic with the contact available on their website but guess what, they show no difference.
The car is excellent so i decided that i was not going to upset myself and i should enjoy the car, if i want to improve it, the GPS is not that important, i can get external GPS device or even use my mobile, so i decided to buy a car alarm and have the service center install it.
So, today, i went to Elaksa which an authorized service center by artoc auto and while doing my 10, 000km maintenance, requested that they install to me the car alarm i got, i was advised that they cannot do that and that if i install it, it will get the car out of the waranty.
I wasn't satisfied with that answer as artoc auto service center in Ghamra previously advised me to get the alarm myself!!!
SO i contacted Ghamra service center and after a period of holding on the phone, i talked to Hesham azzay who told me the same thing, and explained to me some unlogical explanation about how the electricity was going to be affected and that other octavia or superb that have alarm installed have different electricity way...

Frankly, i am very upset about the after sale provided in Egypt by artoc auto and the no response i got before by Skoda Tchech.

If i'd known that before buying i was going to add a few thousands and got a jetta or even a passat, Golf has a much better service and VW's representative are much better than skoda, this is obvious when you compare websites and the complain section for VW. Although Skoda is under VW, it is still independant and still far away from VW.

I'd recommend anyone in Egypt to think twice when deciding to buy an Octavia or Superb to consider Jetta or Passat, the difference in price will get its benefit later in the after sale and the treatement and the no broken promises you will get.
