I am a Canadian artist who had been asked to participate in my first group exhibit in NYC. I had packaged 3 paintings and put them in mirror boxes labelled fragile, and sent them off with excitement. I was not able to insure them because I had packaged them myself, and they have a limit of $500 for insurance, and will only cover this if it is lost. So off my future went, and they arrived in shambles. They had been dropped so hard the wood frames had splintered. I had 1 inch foam around the painting which protected the middle, but the edges were ruined from the frame damage. I was not able to participate fully in the show, and heard NOTHING from the customer service dept. at UPS. I am disgusted. I have attached two photos of some of the damage, as well as a photo of what the art and frame should look like...
