CANCELLATION OF MEMBERSHIP WITH ASF
I enrolled ASF International in August 2009 and was told that my contract could be cancelled if I moved at least 25 miles away. In October, I asked ASF staff what was necessary to cancel my contract if I moved and was advised that I needed a lease or rental agreement to prove residency elsewhere.
When I was accepted to college out-of-state, I also leased an apartment and sent the lease agreement into ASF. Apparently ASF does not honor what they promise to members. I have now been told that I must submit a utility bill. However, the utilities are not in my name. They have told me that they will continue to charge me monthly for a membership I don’t even use as it is over 400 miles away.
ASF states that they do not have a telephone number to their “Cancellation Department”. In other words, the cancellation department exists but will not accept outside calls from members! What I can take away from this most unpleasant experience is that I will never do business with ASF again and advise anyone thinking of doing business with ASF ----not to.
