Scam
On May 22, 2010 I ordered a living room set with a promise of delivery of June 26, 2010. As the date got closer, I received a call stating they had a delay in manufacturing and I was given a choice of delivery of July 3rd, 8th, 9th or 10th. I opted for a delivery date of the 9th. On July 3rd received a call stating they had another delay in delivery again due to manufacturing and the choices of delivery was now July 30th, August 3rd, 4th or 5th. To say the least I was irate. I was irate not only because of the delay, but their practice of charging customers and constantly delaying delivery while your credit card is charged the amount and interest is accruing. I requested the Consumer Affairs License number from the store manager, Rob & Greg, names given and they stated that it was not available. I called my credit card and was given credit for the sale, but unfortunately they cannot give credit for interest accrued. I can live with paying the interest amount, its a lesson learn, but I cannot understand how practices of this nature can be accepted towards consumers. I researched Ashleys after this fiasco and found many had experienced the same outcome and other problems with this store. During these economic times no one can afford to have $2000.00 plus held, while they gain on people money.

not in stock after I paid in full 2 months ago
I went to Ashley's on May 2nd and purchased the South coast queen bed, bench and chest because they told me it was in stock. I still had contractors working in my home so I could not give ashley a delivery date, which EVERYONE who worked there said it was fine. Since I paid for it that day they told they would MAKE it and all I needed to do was call at least a week to schedule a delivery.
HERE ARE WHERE THE LIES COME TO LIGHT.
I called June 16th to schedule a delivery; they said the earliest would be June 22nd. 6/22/10 they dropped off the chest & bench while I was at work. I called the next day and asked where my bed was. They told me that they did not have my foot board. No I did not get a call prior to the delivery. The earliest day I could get the foot board is JULY 9th. 2 months after I paid for something that was in stock.
Kareem OPs Mngr did not help and was only made that someone transferred me to him. Freddi, she believed that apologizing and being honest as to why I don't have my bed would pacify me. Sal the store mngr, must be related to Ashley because he was clueless as a leader. Here is the list of excuses
1: Someone else ordered it at the same exact time you did. (do they do inventory by hand for all their stores and send them by carrier pigeon?) I asked if that was the case why am I only waiting for the foot board?
2: Someone else’s foot board was broken and they took mine. (this is the only time I think they told the truth)
3: It's such a popular style we ordered more then we have. (THEY MAKE THEIR OWN FURNITURE!, so make me a foot board and expedite my bed) It's not cost effective to just send 1 board from Wisconsin. (Not cost effective for me to pay for a bed and not get it)

You are in the business to make people happy and make money. You made money and I am far from happy

I have my bed in pieces for 4 months to get a replacement rail
Bought a bed room set with a King Sleigh bed in November of 2009. had the side rail crack and break in April of 2010, now it is June, 21st and I'm still waiting for my replacement side rail, Ashely Consumer Affairs gives me the same BS line that there are none in stock and won't be until end of July.
4 months! I have my bed in pieces for 4 months to get a replacement rail. If i would of know this about Ashley before I bought it I would of never of bought it. Consumer Affairs at Ashley tell me that its in the sales rep's hand, who has done nothing, and there is nothing they can do. Crystal was her name, then she puts her supervisor on who continued the same BS about how there is nothing they can do and won't call anyone to see if they could find something else for us. They won't even call the local distributor in my area whose ordering it, to see what took them so long to get this ordered. Also won't even call other area reps to see if anyone has the rail.
Thats real customer service for ya.

Buyers beware
Feb. 15 I purchased some items at Ashley Furniture in Lake Havasu City, AZ. I paid $1250 cash and have my receipt. The store closed 3 weeks ago and now am out of luck in receiving my items. The phone # on the locked door is useless. I'm told to keep checking back in a couple weeks. The store is still full of furniture but I just get the run around on the phone. I don't know where to turn now. Their other store in Kingman closed too. I just need to talk to someone that can help me. So, buyers beware! Do not buy from Ashley Furniture!

I bought a allison dresser from ashley furniture and cannot pull out the bottom drawers because they must be swollen. I e-mailed them and they never answered me. I just wanted to know how to address the problem.

GAS REBATE PROGRAM
I BOUGHT FURNITUE FROM ASHLEY WITH A 500 DOLLAR GAS REBATE PROGRAM--I FOLLOWED THE RULES BUT DID NOT GET ONE REBATE--I WAS TOLD BY ASHLEY THAT THEY HAD A SECOND SUPPLIER FOR THE REBATE --I FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS AND NEVER GOT A REBATE---I WAS TOLD THAT ASHLEY WAS WORKING ON A PROGRAM TO COMPENSATE EVERYONE WHO WAS SCAMMED BUT WAS STRUNG ALONE FOR ALMOST A YEAR---THERE HAS BEEN NO INFORMATION COMING FROM THE STORE OR FROM THEIR CORPORATR HEADQUARTERS---I ASKED FOR THE NAME OF THE OWNER OF THE STORE AND COULD NOT GET IT FROM CUSTOMER SERVICE---I AM AGAIN WAITING FOR INFORMATION --THERE ARE MANY GIMMICKS INCLUDING A 20% REDUCTION IN PURCHASES THAT WAS TOSSED AROUND BUT THIS IS NOT FAIR CONSIDERING THAT ASHLEY OFFERS 15-18-20 PERCENTS OFF FOR MANY OF ITS PROMOTIONS--THERE HAS BEEN SUGGESTIONS THAT OTHER ASHLEY CUSTOMERS AT DIFFERENT LOCATIONS WERE OFFERED 100 DOLLAR CERTICATES FOR WALLMART-- IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE TO GET TOGETHER AND NOTIFY THE STATE OF NJ REGARDING SIMILIAR DIFFICULTIES PLEASE DO SO--

They have been terrible to deal with
I have purchased a queen sleigh bed and mattress set that was supposed to be in on Jan, 22, 2010. Each week it was postponed and now they say "no firm date for delivery." I am tired of waiting and want a refund and they won't give me one. What do I do now? They have been terrible to deal with.

Rip off
I had purchased a bedroom set from ashley furniture paid 1500.00 for it the sales manger told me it was on back order for 4 to 6weeks i said okay on the 6week i got a phone call stating that the bedroom set is now discontinued and i would have to pick a different bedroom set from ashley furniture they would not give me my money back so i could buy a bedroom set somewhere else i like...what they did to me and my family was wrong now i eather out the 1500.00 or I'm stick with something i don't what nor like...
i have talked to a couple of other people about this and they said this has happened to them so please don't support them will just rip you off.

Beware of the crap you buy from them
I purchase a house full of furniture from Ashley Furniture in Gastonia NC ...I am ok with most of it but my kitchen table has been losing the top layer of finish...I thought this table was solid wood with a natural grain in the finish but it is plywood with a paper thin vaneer on top which after only 2 years has been chipping away and of coarse the warantee is over.I always used either a table cloth or place mats when we used the table...I paid over $700.00 for this set and now it is garbage and they told me they can't do anything about it! So beware of the crap you buy from them!

They will cheat you out of your money, BEWARE!
I put $1000 deposit on some furniture at Ashley Furniture the balance was $2600 with the understanding that if the entire balance was not paid in full there would be a 30% cancellation fee. Times got hard we were unable to pay the balance. I called the store and explained that we were going to cancel I was told that I would only get $700 back because the store keeps 30% My husband went to Ashley Furniture store to cancel and get our $700.00 he was told when he got there that he was only going to get $235 because it was 30% of the total selling price. They then showed us some very small writing that said that. My husband was then told that we could pick out something in the store that cost $1000 and we would not lose our 30%. We picked out some furniture the total came to $1010. They then told us no we would have to pick out some furniture for the total sale which was $2600. That did not make any sense at all. We became upset and told them they were being very dishonest and they keep telling us several different stories and the they were trying to keep all of our money they called the police and made us leave the store
