Attention Missouri Ashley Furniture customers
The Missouri Attorney General Jay Nixon is trying to alert consumers who have had problems with the COLUMBIA, MO Ashley Furniture store.

It apparently went bankrupt and was sold to the owners of the St Louis stores, and this must have affected many consumers.

He successfully sued Ashley Furniture regarding the Joplin store which suddenly closed and had them ship $600, 000 worth of their stuff from Wisconsin to consumers in Missouri! Good man - lets support his efforts.

Paid cash, but no delivery
I purchased some furniture from Ashley Furniture about 2 or 3 years ago, and have never received the products. I paid over $2000 in cash, scheduled the delivery, and before the delivery-the store closed and there was never a delivery. I have been trying get some information for about 2 to 3 yrs, and have been unsuccessful in accomplishing that. I still have the receipts for the items, and recently requested that the office in Wisconsin just provide me with at least a store credit, but the customer service rep. said that they were unable to assist me with this matter. I am highly disappointed in Ashley Furniture. They just took my money and ran with it. Although the store was independently owned and operated, it still represents Ashley Furniture and gives them a bad name.

Bad quality
After reading all of the reviews here about Ashley Furniture, I am very thankful that I never bought furniture from there. I never realized that Ashley sells the lesser known brand names of furniture as opposed to the more reputable brands like La-Z-Boy.

I remember when I was shopping for recliners I took a peak at the furniture at Ashley Furniture and right away, I thought it was crap. In my judgment, it's cheap quality.

OK, now I have to think of 22 more words to add to my reviews. Ashley Furniture stinks - what else can I really say?

Poor quality
I bought a complete living room suit for my new home, couch, love seat, recliner coffee table, end tables, hall way table. Now just overt 13 months and my Recliner does not recline anymore and the beautiful decorative legs on the sofa and love seat broke. They were hollow fibreglass fakes. Now my $3000.00 couch and love seat are setting on blocks of wood. REAL CLASS WORKMANSHIP. I am original from High Point North Carolina. It used to be called the furniture capital of the world. Now the hardly make any furniture any more. I guess the new furniture capitol is some where in China. Wake up America, we are slowly being screwed by China. I would not by a dollar from them for .50 cents.

Didn’t deliver when promised
I originally purchase several pieces on April 13. Was told part of order would be ready end of April, part at end of May. Arranged separate deliveries. When first set of items wasn't ready until end May, wanted everything delivered together. Was very specific about that. Truck came, one item was backordered. Scheduled for following wk. New delivery company and they never showed up. It was supposed to be delivered between 9am - 1pm. Called Ashley customer service 3 times - 1:20, 2:30 and 4:40pm and was promised a call back from dispatcher. Call never came and no proactive follow up. They are closed Sunday and Monday so I expected a follow up call on Tuesday to reschedule. I called them this morning (Wed) at 9am and am still waiting for call back from Customer service rep 4 hrs later. Called again and they don't remember talking to me. But they are happy to reschedule the delivery. I told them now I am so unhappy, I want to cancel the item. They want to charge me 30% restocking. They took a message for the manager, but refused to give me his phone number.

They are the worst
We purchased a micro fibre sofa and love seat recliner from the Ashley furniture store in Fremont in August 2007. The furniture when it arrived was as expected. But within a few weeks we started noticing micro fibre elements sticking out from all parts of the furniture - this was not fibre leaking from the seams but rather fibre magically leaking from within the fabric all over.

I opened a case with their customer service in Southern California back in Feb 2008. An Ashley Furniture technician came home in April to look at the leaks and stated that he had never seen anything of this nature in his entire tenure and was going to recommend the quickest possible resolution. After waiting for a couple of weeks and still not hearing back from their customer service, I called them and to my surprise was told that the technician had stated in his report that the leak was "normal" and we "may have" used a high power vacuum and caused the same.

After many more conversations, their customer service agent "Jamie" called me up in early May to state that Ashley would take back the furniture and would give us store credit to buy an alternate set. I

waited for a couple of more weeks to get the credit - but nothing happened. On May 17th, I again called up Jamie who indicated that her supervisor "Ron" or manager "Tran" were supposed to have gotten back to me by now - and apologized profusely for the delay. Two more weeks go by and nothing happens. I called back on the 7th of June and to my surprise was told by "Kim" (another customer non-service rep) that "Jamie" had quit the company and had thrown all her case paper work in the trash.

After being asked to speak to the manager, I was transferred to Tran who wanted me to send him pictures of the leaking fibre (to start the process all over again) for him to make a decision on by Tuesday (6/10). I posted a youtube video and sent him a link. Till date - as expected - no response. I am quite sure they have no intention of fulfilling their warranty. We paid $1800 for furniture that looks like a camel going thru puberty.

I'm mad
Bought with cash $1240.00 a new leather loveseat and when they called to say it was here I was so excited. My husband took the old sofa apart and out. Then they called back opps it came in but totalled TOTALED!!!... I said so you order a new one and its three weeks again they said yep. Then a week later they called back and said its here. I said ok that was fast. Once again my hubby took the sofa apart and out. Got there no loveseat they said it was a miss call that he had called about the totalled one again. Once again no apology’s no customer care. SOOOO I said so when is the e t a on the new one the warehouse guy said oh the part should be in two weeks. I SAID WHAT PART WE BOUGHT A NEW LOVESEAT!!! We were told another one would be ordered just minutes ago. He said we are going to fix the damaged one and give you it. This is what we do I repeat this is what we do to everyone. I said I want what I paid cash for, He said it will be. I through a fit of anger. I said I want my money back they then said you can only get all of it less 30 percent. SO I wait another mmmmmm god knows how long. For a repaired piece of furniture. WHAT A DEAL!!!

I am so pissed I can't see straight. DO NOT SHOP HERE I GIVE YOU FAIR WARNING. SO I spent $1240.00 dollars and have nothing no sofa for a week now as my hubby said he would not put it back in the house again (the old one I mean).I should have bought Japanese they do better work building and they treat customers with respect. Ashley is so awful so awful so awful so awful so awful…

They screw customers with hidden fees
Ashley furniture is eager to sell to people on credit. They make it sound easy, terms, etc. however when it is time to pay it is the most inconvenient payment process besides walking to the store and counting 300.00 in pennies. The stores won’t accept payments. There is no payment centre. There is no website on which to pay. You have 2 choices. mail a check, which they will tell you takes about 3 weeks to process; or, pay over the phone- which costs 15.00 EACH TIME. This is absurd, since the payment on my purchase was 18.00 a month. 15.00 To pay an 18.00 payment! And if you mail your check, which is guaranteed to be late-they charge 39.00 late fee! Talk about a rock or a hard place! This is why I will never shop there again. There is no reason to so brazenly screw customers that create the business in the first place!

Rip-off
I was very excited about purchasing my first set of leather furniture, only quickly to be sickened by the realization that I had been ripped off!

Within just a few months the colour began peeling off. After calling the company I purchased it from repeatedly, taking pictures and great heartache.

They finally swapped the sofa and loveseat out.

This was only after I was able to speak with someone else (not the original salesman/owner) who was somewhat honest. He admitted they had "gotten a bad lot". This set is doing the same.

Living with a nightmare again in Georgia!
