Ashley Furniture Reviews

Still no refund
We ordered $2000.00 in furniture from Ahsley Furniture on march 4th. The furniture was placed on backorder. on march 27 we decided that we had waited long enough and we just wanted our money back. they agreed, and told us it would be no problem. we finally on April 7th were told they mailed out a check... Today. April 20th we still have not recieved a check. they are telling me there is nothing they can do they did their part in mailing out the check.. and that its out there somewhere. we asked that they put a stop payment on the checkand issue us a new one. they responded with it must be 30 days after they mailed the check before they address an issue.. I have tried calling the corporate office and they said only the store manager can help me. and the store manager says they cant do anything that corporate is the only one that can fixthe problem and this is what their solution is! I have contacted the BBB and the news. STILL NO MONEY!!! I am wondering with all the complaints I am reading if they are suffering as a business and holding back on sending out refunds.. if you go to http://ecorporateoffices.com/AshleyFurniture-1690 you will see 20 pages of more complaints!!

Customer Service Scam
I purchased and paid in full for a dining room set on March 12. I was told that "corporate" told them to tell me 4 weeks for delivery but that it was sure to arrive in less than 2. They tell you this after payment. I called numerous times to check on status...most of the times the line was busy or there was in excess to 15 minutes to wait. Finally when I got someone they told me they did not have a status. I called again today 1 month and 1 day after delivery was promised. I was told that they couldn't tell me status in that they thought the "guys in the dlievery room were going home". I asked to speak to a supervisor, they told me no in that he would tell me the same thing. I insisted on a supervisor. I finally reached one that was toally inept. They told me that they would deliver the furniture April 19 in a 3 hour window...but they couldnt tell me the window until Monday. I told them they did not make the week of April 12 delivery. The superviso then told me the week of the 12th was when they would call, NOT when they would deliver. I asked for the supervisors name and a number to call back. She said, just call the number you called before...I had been redirected 3 times. I asked for my money back. No, not until the furniture is 30 days past the delivery date. There needs to be something done about this type of unethical business practices. The supervisor told me to read the contract...said there were a lot of "outs" for Ashley so they did not have to give money back. Buyer Beware!!!

Ads
I have tried to buy furniture at Ashley no less than 4 times in the last year. I see a sofa in an ad. I go to the store, but the sofa isn't there. It feels like a bait & switch technique to me. I am always shown other items that cost more. I will never walk into an Ashley Furniture store again and will tell all my friends not to buy from these people.

2 month delivery
I spent $1000 on some new couches and was told by the salesman that it would be less than two weeks for delivery. Its been almost EIGHT WEEKS and they still have no information as to when i'll be getting my furniture. Plus, i bought my couches when they were having a store closing sale and they advertise "bring your trucks because ALL INVENTORY MUST GO!!" RIDICULOUS!

Worst Service
Probably to much to write. Ill just say I'm 31 years old and this was my worst customer service I have ever received in my lifetime. It started by lies in the showroom costing more at checkout. Next damages to walls and door of home on product that did not fit and could not be delivered to 3.5 hours of cell minutes wasted talking to these poeple not to mention 170 miles of gas wasted driving back and forth. Then to have a Sales manager treat you the worst you have ever been treated to the point I walked out and will never buy another thing from Ashley furniture again. The one thing we did end up excepting delivery on that day was a pub table and chairs which 3 days after using it is falling apart partly because it is missing screws still waiting on reply on that. Wish I would have turned down that too. I would say you would be better of buying somthing from anywhere but them. Avoid Draper, UT Paul Waylon. Much more then this just to much to type. I would suggest going to RC Willey or Ikea if there is one close by over this company.

Gave me a defective mattress and would not replace it!
HORRIBLE!!! Me and my husband purchased a Sealy mattress from here. Six months later both sides began to cave in 3 inches. We contacted them since it was still covered by warranty. The Ashley furniture technician came out and stated how defective it was. They would NOT replace it due to a small stain that was on it. I even asked them to show me in my papers where it stated that a stain voids your warranty, they failed to provide. When I contacted Sealy, they stated it was Ashley Furniture who had to replace it. Do not buy a mattress from here. We had to go out and purchase another one.

Peeling of Leather
We purchased a leather sofa and loveseat on March 20/10 and took delivery on March 29/10.
We are snowbirds in Florida and only use the furniture for 5 months of the year.
A week ago, we noticed the leather on the arm of the sofa was peeling. We called Customer Service at Ashley as it was under a year old, plus we had purchased the extended warranty for an extra three years.
They sent out a person (supposedly a qualified technician) to examine the sofa. He very quickly said it was "painted leather" which we had never heard of and it was really just "fading". He also said it was not his decision and he would send his report and picture to Customer Service.
We then received a call from Customer Service saying our claim was DENIED as it was not a manufacturer's defect and either it was "external forces" or fading.

When we bought the sofa we were told it was leather, not "painted leather" and it also states "leather" on our customer receipt.
We then contacted the Corporate office of Ashley, Consumer Relations, and they in turn transferred our problem back to the store who in turn, called to say our claim was denied as it was not a manufacturer's defect.
Bottom line, not only is this terrible customer service on a sofa that is not even a year old, plus the fact we purchased the 3 year protection package. We were told by the Salesperson at time of purchase that regardless of the issue, you will be covered under warranty for 3 years.
We are including our email address [email protected] so that any other individuals who we have seen on the complaint list, may contact us to pursue a lawsuit.

Worst furniture ever
We bought a new sofa in january of 2010. didn't get it until the end of february 2010. in may 2010 the right side reclining mechinism broke. we couldn't get it to go down. we literally had to shimmy off of it, stand in front, push it straight in and then push it down to get it to close.

i called the # the sales lady gave me for the warrenty. they asked me who was sitting on it when it broke. i told them my husband. then they asked me how much he weighs. i told them 320lbs. they said that because he was over weight, that it wasn't covered by the warrenty.

then in september the seat on the left side broke. i was literally sitting on a lean because the board broke. i called them back. they asked me who was sitting on it. i said me. then they ask me how much i weigh. i say 267lbs. then she asks me how OFTEN i sit on the couch. i told her that i'm disabled and sit on it most of the day because of my back. then she told me that i exceeded the NORMAL use warrenty of the sofa and it wasn't covered.

then just two weeks before the anniversary of the safa purchase, the middle cushion came apart from the frame. i didn't notice it until 2 days later when my 2 year old got her foot trapped between the steel frame while she was sleeping. it took us 20 minutes to free her foot. so i called them a third time. they inform mr that because i didn't report it when it happened that it wasn't covered.

i tried to explain to them that i haven't even had this couch for a year and it was broken in 3 places. they then inform me that because the place i got it from is going out of businees that they can't help me. i tell the lady that all warrenties are still in effect even if the store goes out of business because the warrenty is with ashley. she laughed at me and said " good luck with that!"

ashley is the worst furniture ever. and they don't care that we the customers pay so much for furniture that we are convinced into getting because the sales people tell us we have such a great warrenty. it's all bogus!!! i would give this couch to a homeless person, that's how bad it is. and i've only had it for one year and 10 days!!!

Horrible Customer Service
My husband and I bought our first furniture together, the event that started out as a fun step together has become a nightmare because of Ashley furniture. The sales person was friendly although he was the beginning of our problems. We bought our new furniture 3 weeks before my in-laws were coming from out of state to visit.

Ashley called to confirm the delivery for Monday the Friday before (they are not lenient about switching the time at all, even if its a half an hour difference)...everything was going according to plan, we decided to throw all of our furniture away on Sunday morning, cleaning out our house for the new furniture. Sunday night I received a call that they were not going to be able to deliver my complete sectional, only part of it was going to be delivered and the other part would not be ready for another month. We decided to get the couch part of it anyways because our family was coming into town that Tuesday and we didn't have much time left. When delivery came they did not call me half an hour before like they had promised but rather just showed up to my front steps, luckily I had asked my mom to be at my house to receive the furniture. They brought all the furniture they had promised but ended up taking my dresser and mirror because they didn't fit together (contrary to what our sales person had said when we purchased it). Customer service did not contact me to tell me the situation and when I called the next day to find out about my dresser customer service claimed that they were not aware of my situation and had to call me back (talk about lack of communication!).

When they finally called me back and I asked for the dresser to be delivered the following day, customer service said that their cut off time is 1pm for next day delivery so it wasn't possible. Ashley furniture is not at all about pleasing the customer, I was very impressed with their sales person and prices for the furniture we purchased but getting the furniture to our home has become a nightmare. At the present time the chase (the other part to our couch) is not coming for another 2 months. I don't ever want anything to do with Ashley furniture again!

Stop Before You Purchase Anything From Them
I ordered furniture from Ashley Furniture in Houston, Tx. on San Felipe Street. However, Paid Cash for it, was promised a delivery date, ok... after waiting beyond time for the furniture, I received just one item wrong color, ok supposedly got that correct, reordered. still waiting on sleeper sofa, finally came and it was scratched up, reordered again, remind you I'm still waiting on the right color recliner, not to mention they promised me a delivery date, I traveled 400 miles to be back at home for arrival of my sleeper sofa, I waited, no sleeper sofa arrived, then I finally received it and it was scatched up terrible, I'm probably going in circles with this story cause this is the way I received it, brought out another sleeper sofa, delivery people took the plastic off of the sofa, and dragged it on concrete, then tried to cover it up with a marker, had to wait on another one, still no recliner, so I told them just forget it, give me my money back, no they wanted to send me a 50.00 gift card, which they did, and promised to have my furniture delivered on a specific date, and they would honor me with another 75.00 gift card, still haven't received it, I was according to them mail out a month ago, ha.

DO NOT BUY FROM ASHLEY FURNITURE, I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THEM. AND WHAT CAN I GET OUT OF THE STORE FOR 50.00. I HAVE PICTURES OF THE DELIVERY TEAM DRAGGING MY FURNITURE ON THE CONCRETE, AND TRYING TO COVER IT UP WITH A MARKER...SAD SITUATION...
