Trouble returning damaged furniture
On 10/05/10 we purchased 2 ove seats and a couch from the Avondale store. They told us we would get a call to set up a delivery time for the next day.We were woken up at around 7a.m. the next morning by the delivery truck, no call to set up.When we accepted delivery on the surface the furniture look alright. Later on that morning when we actually sat down on it we found that the seat cushion on one of the love seats hangs over the edge to much and gets caught in the mechanisum when you try to open and close the recliner. this is not a loose cushion so it is not like you can push back or move it . It is fixecd to the frame. So then we tried the other recliners and found that they all had problems. We tried thru out the same day to call customer service and their line was always busy. Finally we got thru the next day and were told they would e-mail thestore our complaint. Just to make sure we went to the store and talked to store manager. We were told that they would refund our money minus a delivery fee and an additional pick up fee.A total of $159.82 that are down the drain. In the first place it is not my fault that they sent out defective furniture. I have to send it back because it is no good, why should I be carged for them to take back something they should not have delivered to begin with. Okay when we were at thestore the manager said we would be call within 24 hours to set up a pick up time. We waited more than 24 hours and no call. we called the manager again on the next day after the time had passed and he assured us that he would see to it that the furniture was picked up the next day, that was on a Friday. Friday came and went no call not pick up. We talked to manager of Sat. and he was going to get right on it and call us back, no call, no pick up. he was unavaliable the rest of the day Sat. and Sun. We asked the receptionist if she could check and see when we were scheduled for pick up and she told us not till the 15th of October which is more than a week after we reprted the problem. Today is Mon. Oct. the 11th, we called thestore this morning and talked to the same manager and told him that we needed to have it picked up sooner as we were planning to leave Thurs. on a trip. He said he would get right on it and call us right back. You guessed it no call yet. He never even made and excuse for not calling us back even to let us know they weren't coming. We wasted all weekend waiting for a call or someone just to show up like when they deliverd. Nothing, Nada I am very dissapointed that in todays economy they have no more respect for their customers than this.Everybody has to sacrafice right now to be able to buy furniture. You would think that they would check out their furniture before they deliver it and stand behind their word when thaey deliver dameged goods. I think they probably figure they'ss atleast make money of of you on all the delivery and pick up fees. Our next step is BBB and 3 on your side T.V.

Total junk
We purchased a "leather" sectional from Ashley Furniture, in Lima, Ohio, to save a few hundred dollars, compared to a local furniture store. The sectional looked great for about thirteen months, then the "leather" began to peel off of the upholstery backing. We contacted Ashley Furniture, they sent someone out to look at the issue. The serviceman said that it was something he had never seen before, but they would order new upholstery sections to repair it. The parts were obsolete, so they sent a "leather repairman" out to fix it. He said the repair would never work and refused to do it. They have refused to resolve the issue. Don't buy Ashley Furniture's junk!

Lies to me
I purchased a couch and chair from Ashley's in Portland Oregon on 82nd ave and regret every second of that purchase. While in the store taking with the salesman Mr. House he lied to me about how the chair I wanted would hug the wall. I got a chair that has to be 14" away from the wall to recline. When I got the counter to pay I was informed by Mr. House and another lady that I had 30 days to exchange the furniture if for some reason I was not happy with it. I went back to the store 8 days later to make arrangements to have the furniture picked up and to pick out something different when I was informed that I only had 48 hours to exchange the furniture and given a phone number to call. The only thing they will do is repair any thing that may be broken. If you are thinking of going to Ashley's run the other way, THEY WILL LIE TO YOU AND THEN ***!!!

Run away from them
We ordered a sofa, recliner, accent recliner, and bed for my son from Ashley Furniture in Concord California. As a side note the accent recliner was a discontinued model so we ended up purchasing the floor model. The salesman said that it would take 1 to 3 weeks for delivery for all items. It ended up taking about 6 weeks for the delivery. This delay is understandable. When the products finally arrived the sofa and bed were both damaged. The plastic that is meant to protect the sofa was actually glued to the seat cushions. When the delivery guy attempted to pull off the plastic the leather actually started to tear. At that point they stopped and placed it back on the truck. The bed, model Embrace, has two sets of drawers that we purchased. One set had scratches on the edge of the drawers. The bed color is a dark brown almost black. My mother in law walked in on the delivery guy and he was coloring in the scratches with a sharpie. At that point she stopped him and took some pictures with her phone. The accent chair was not even on the truck. The delivery guy said that it was on back order. In reality it was sitting at the Concord store waiting for them to pick it up. I guess it was input into the system wrong. Everything was okay with the recliner and that is now our only family room seating until we get this mess resolved. I now get to spend the next month on countless phone calls trying to get their mess straightened out. As for the store, they are absolutely no help once you walk out of the store. All they have done is direct me to the customer service because they are not authorized to do anything and the manager never seems to be available. Before you buy from Ashley think about my experience. Here is a recap. 1. Out of 4 items that were to be delivered, only one was acceptable. This is a 75 percent error rate. 2. Someone in administration had to input the order wrong into the system, someone in manufacturing had to place glue on the sofa, someone in manufacturing or delivery had to scratch the bed, and someone in delivery tried to hide the damages by coloring them in with an ink pen. This is not an isolated issue, rather a problem throughout the organization. 3. If a product arrives damaged they reserve the right to repair the damages. So don't think they are going to order you a new one and replace it. I will most likely get a refurbished unit even though I paid for a new one. 4. Customer support will give you two options, neither of which is acceptable. 5. It is now 7 days later and I am no where closer to getting what I paid for. In fact, I have yet to receive a call with an update

accidental tear
Bought a couch through Beiters Furniture and purchased the Ultra Sheild 10 year fabric waranty. To cover any damages like accidental tears and cuts. When our dog got caught on the material and caused an accidental tear. I called the Ultra Sheild representative and made a claim. They told me that pet damage is not covered by the policy eveen though that it clearly states accidental tears and cuts. My problem is still ongoing with this complaint.

Peeling leather sectional
I bought a leather sectional at Ashley Furniture Homestore at Carle Place, NY in April, 2008 along with a 5 year protection plan for peace of mind. Two years later, leather is peeling on sectional. I contacted the protection plan company and peeling leather is not covered in plan because according to them it's not an accidental damage but a malfunction damage. I contacted the store and they can not do anything for me because my 1 year warranty is over. Now i am stuck with a $3000 peeling leather sectional that is not worth two bucks. I feel that Ashley furniture did not take responsibility for their poor quality furniture I paid for. Leather should not be peeling, and more so after just 2 years of use. I will never purchase anything else from Ashley because they did not stand by their saying in the contact that states they sell qualify furniture for the price. I emailed them my complaint weeks ago and no one has gotten back to me. Not surprised.

Don't buy
We purchased 2 bedroom sets from Ashley's on 8-6-10. After the last promised date of 8-30-10 we still had not received phone call for delivery. When I called they told me the furniture was on back order. When furniture finally arrived to warehouse, scheduleing delivering was a nightmare. They kept changing delivery dates claiming I made changes or my husband made changes when neither did. Delivery finally set for 9/14/10(roughly 6 weeks after purchase). 2 days before delivery they call to tell me one bedroom set is broken and will have to be reordered, apprx 2 wks. They deliver izone bed. Whne we tested the audio it did not work. I called to make complaint and they told me they would send a tech out to fix it. One week later a tech comes out and tells us he does not know anything about electronics, wasn't even familiar with an ipod. He told us he was there simply to confirm it was broken. He orders new part and states it will be 2 wks before it will be delivered. We made some calls to CSM and they were able to 2 day expedite the order but not without many phone calls and messages. When new part arrives it does not work either. This new tech states that he does not think ac adapter provides sufficient power to charge ipod. He suggested we go to radio shack and purchase ourselves a different ac adapter. When that option was refused he told us he would place the order for a new part but it will probably not work either. Frustrated, I began calling CSM managers, their supervisor and the store manager. Of course, we never got them personally. We left messages and have not received a call back. We don't even know if we are going to receive a new part. Now, 4 days of work have had to be missed to wait on their people for no resolution!! We did finally recieve the other furniture set and upon inspection the bookshelf is damaged. Now we are looking at a couple of weeks, maybe, to get new part. Teh customer service has been a nightmare. They have made no effort to even take an additional percentage off for all the problems and the fact that the bed is still defective. Of course they offer no returns. We are not even sure what other recourse we have. Please buyer be ware, DO NOT purchase anything from Ashley Furniture!!

Deception on delivery
Purchased furniture in July, paid in full. Promised 4 week delivery date.

Started calling in August when they did not call to set up delivery date.

Was told that part of furniture on back order and not available until Sept 7th. Called in Sept and told now Sept 17th. Called on Sept 13th and now told back order until Sept 26th. No guarantees, no firm promises, no concession for the inconvenience to the customer. A deal is not a deal if you pay for everything 2 months in advance, including the delivery charge and then 2 months later you still have nothing to show for your money spent.

In this economy how can a company stay in business with this type of service?

We will never buy from Ashley furniture again. We realize it is not a high end furniture store but that should not make any difference. I order things from Target and they are shipped with fail.

Now we are at their mercy because if we cancel, they will not refund us.

So now they are willing to deliver part of our order but don't have a date for 12 more days. And at that our order still won't be complete.

This is absolutely horrible service. Save yourself the headache and frustration and shop elsewhere.

Worst service ever
Ashley Furniture in Catonsville, MD has the absolute worst service. I purchased a small table and a TV stand on July 30th; it is now Sept. 7th and I have not received it. The rep stated they can not deliver my furniture until Sept 17th. I have called each week and they stated it will be ready for deliver on Sept 7th. Each time I called the Ashley Furniture store, the sales people acted helpless with no customer service or understanding for the amount of time I have had to wait. I called on Sept 7th after receiving no call and they stated the mgr will call me back. It has been an hour and no call yet.
