quality and service costs
We moved in 2004 and bought all new appliances. The only Asko product we bought was a dishwasher and I am now very thankfull.
We could have bought a few good dishwashers for the price of this one Asko but the sales guy said it was the best and it would be the last dishwasher we'll have to buy.
So far I have spent about $300 to repair it. Then the drawer sliders start Jamming up and they wanted $200 just to come look at it and see what it needed. I decided to look at myself and managed to get the top drawer moving again but not very well as a few of the ball bearings fell out. Then the control panel where you touch the start button ripped so we called and the part was hundreds of dollars and again $200 to come and install it. I put a piece of duct tape on it.
Now the machine stopped working, we called and the repair company diagnosed it over the phone, the pump and some other part are needed and the estimate to repair is around $900 and that doesn’t include the other two problems we have with it. I’m guessing that it’ll cost me well over $1300 to get this 6 year old machine working properly again.
Silly me, when my wife wanted to buy this dishwasher I thought it had a much better warranty. Live and learn, my advice is to stay away from the high end appliances, you can buy 3 or 4 other good quality dishwashers for the price of an Asko and they want the price of a regular dishwasher for almost all repairs. My wife wants me to fix it but I explained to her that we can buy a high end dishwasher for less then the cost of fixing this one. Ironically all the other appliances we bought at the same time are all working well and have had little or no trouble with them . They are LG, Maytag, and GE
The dishwasher at our old house was a few years old when we moved in and it was still working fine when we moved out 7 years latter. It was just regular brand name like Kenmore or Maytag or something like that. The better stuff isnt always better, if Asko is that good they should have a least a 10 year warranty for the money they ask for them.

Service and Quality
This company is a joke. I purchased an ASKO front loader washing machine Model W6362 Quattro 1600rpm. I purchase this because of doing research, showed to be the best machine for what I was looking for, looked good, had good features and supposed to be a quality and a durable machine, but came at an expensive price of over $A2000. Hence at this price, thought what I was looking for, would be worth it . Well how wrong was I, the machine does whatever it feels, timing is of its own accord, a cycle that is supposed to be 147 mins can take 2 and a half hours. But ok, not such a major problem, at 1 and a half years old, it stops with a loud bang. Call for service, comes out 5 days later, says its major the motor and the electronics are blown. They have the parts sent, so another day off, because they can only come when they say and not to fit in with you, they say not all the parts have arrived, but will check the parcel next time before coming out as not to inconvenience me. 4 weeks later, and after and polite phone call to the service department the wanker in charge "Steve" miraculously say, oh the part arraived yesterday, it had to be ordered in from overseas "WOW, what a f...king miricle I think, I ring up and suddenly its there" (Bullshit) I say why wasn't I told it had to come from over seas, no answer other than things like this happen. He says we will be out on the 06/04/09 to fix it, I say no I am not having more time off I am free on the 02/04/09. Ok he says, obviously to shut me up...then the call arrives on my message service, just checking to see if its ok to come on the 6th, I have the 2nd down here for some reason but will be there on the 6th, please ring back to confirm. So before I ring I am on here to tell everybody who reads this about ASKO products, just stay away, yes they save water, but as for quality it is far from what they say, this machine is not work a quarter of what I paid for it and the service is disgusting from this company, they are complaicent and don't care one bit in the service department. I am lucky to have had two friends who are in the market for a washing machine and have gladly told them this story and guided them away from any ASKO product. To date it is 5 weeks with a broken washing machine, if I could convey how angry I am on here I would. STAY AWAY FROM ASKO PRODUCT.

Deplorable customer service!
Warning to anyone considering buying an Asko appliance!!! DO NOT EXPECT ANY ASSISTANCE FROM CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! They do not know the meaning of the term!!! I bought a very expensive Asko Washing Machine only 8 years ago and it is a useless piece of crap. Asko claimed the average life span to be 20 years or more. You better hope it lasts half of that, and with no problems, because if you have problems, you are on your own!!!
