rude, payment option, service
When you sign in they leave your name for everyone to read my niece saw mind and called to tell me she saw that I had appointment just before her. They broke the HIPPA law. They did not tell me and my mother about paying for your dentures in cash there is a 8% discount, The girl just told us about the payment options. Chelsey is always rude and short with you on the phone. The dentist is rude too. You have to wait a long time pass your appointment to get in. My upper denture fits ok. My mother is having alot of problems with hers. My niece has to start all over with her set, because there is so much wrong with them. She is gaving them a second chance. Now when you sign in it's on a sticker, but they still leave it on for awhile so others can read it. I got a bill for the small discount. Because I did'nt do everything they wanted me to do, they put in added charges.
My 8% discount should of been 111.92 for 1399.oo upper denture, but I only got 22.68 that's after I had to call and argue with them and I had a copy of a print out that said my denture was paid in full.

poor customer service
I received 2 reminder calls for my initial appointment and went into office as scheduled. Had full set of x-rays and dentist said I needed a crown and my 6 month cleaning. They were to call the next day after checking with my insurance and coming up with a cost estimate. They didn't call, didn't return my 3 phone calls over the next week and the email I sent to corporate. I had 2 insurance policies so there shouldn't have been a problem. Poorest customer service I have ever seen!

High Pressure Sales Person, did not listen to us, and now we have a $5700 charge on their Care Credit
My wife and I went to Aspen Dental to see what the available options were for dentures for both of us. After waiting for some time in the front room, we were ushered into the X-Ray room, where a full set of x-rays were done (The advertisements in the local area claim to offer 'Free' x-rays for new patients). After a very short time in the dentist's chair, the dentist recommended a full upper and a partial lower for me, and full uppers and lowers for my wife. We were immediately sent to the 'Office Manager's' office, where we were set upon by a high-pressure sales pitch, made to believe we were checking on available credit, and were told that together, our bill would be over $8000. We explained to this sales person that we did not now, and would not in the forseeable future have that kind of money to spend on dentures, and reiterated this fact numerous times to her. This apparently had no affect on her, and she kept finding other sets of dentures/treatment plans. The total by the time we left was $5700. Again, we told her we could not afford that, and we did not want to continue. The very next morning, we called the Aspen Dental office, and again cancelled any and all treatments that they had apparently set up (Even though we had not agreed to any treatment). Within a week, we received a bill from Care Credit for the $5700 that the 'Office Manager' had finally decided we needed. Now we are told we must pay the first payment, before it will be cancelled. I refuse to pay a bill we do not owe. As far as i am concerend, Aspen Dental is strictly a high-pressure sales team that is in it strictly for the most money they can get before they are shut down for their horrible business practices. I have never been more appalled by a business that is supposed to be helping people in my life. Avoid this company completely.

Let my infection go on
I had been going to Aspen Dental for a while, complaining about a toothache. They didn't even look at the tooth that hurt and instead told me I needed a root canal on a different tooth. Then, they said that I would have to get my root canal before they would do anything else to my teeth. So, I left and didn't get a root canal right away because I won't have insurance until July. My other tooth started hurting more and more and got an infection. My gum swelled up. So, I called first thing in the morning to tell them about it. They said they would talk to the doctor and he would probably write me a prescription. He never called back. I called 4 times during the day and they were annoyed that I was calling, but my cheek was starting to swell also and I was crying and crying from the pain. Finally, I drove there and asked them what was going on. They told me that the receptionist had already gone home for the day; they took one look at me and finally took me serious. It seems like you have to force them to do anything!!!

Never did what they said they would do and overcharged for what they did do
Aspen dental rips people off they take your money and try to get you to buy more services without actually providing the service you asked for. I made an appointment at Aspen for a cleaning...they never cleaned his teeth at all but they told him about all the future work he was going to need. They ran my insurance to see how much they could get from us for services and wanted to make more appointments for more services without actually ever cleaning his teeth...which was what we asked to be done...they took an x ray and found nothing wrong so they put together a treatment plan based on root planing and perio treatments without cleaning his teeth. Don't you think you should start with cleaning off the plaque before determining the need for root planing. They told me on the phone the appointment was for a cleaning but I assure you he left there with no less plaque on his teeth just less cash in his wallet.

Poor Service
I went to see a Dr. at Aspen dental in Waterford CT. After giving them a lot of money and not getting any work done I tried to go to another Aspen office to get the work done. I went to the office in Lisbon CT. I went in they did a whole new exam and charged me even more money since the two outcomes were not the same. I went for a series of appointments to get my dentures made before I had my teeth pulled. On the day I got my teeth pulled the Dr was an hour late and then she pulled out the wrong bottom teeth. It has been 4 weeks and they are still making me the right bottom denture since I now have different teeth than I was supposed to and I have been walking around without bottom teeth in the front.

The whole office lies and says it was because they were bad teeth well someone could have stopped and consulted me if that were true I think the Dr didnt look at her notes and just started pulling.

"selling technicues"
My daughter went to the above for an appt. she made to take care of a wisdom tooth problem. She has been in alot of pain with them off and on but finally her place of employment offered Dental Insurance so she thought she would finally be able to get her problem fixed and be out of pain. She was planning on having any other work done as needed when her wisdom teeth were finally extracted and gum tissue was healed. She first had to wait even though there was no patients in the inner rooms, found out when no others came out after she went in, then x-rays, which were expected, but after the x-rays were read by the "dentist" there followed "many other important things that had to be taken care of first". Now, how important is it for a patient to be out of pain and maybe put on antibiotics in case of infection before we do "many other important things". One of the "important things was a "gum wash" and a couple of root canals on other teeth which show no infection and of course she didn't have pain there or she would have told them. The thing she went in for wasn't scheduled for another 6 WEEKS!!! I told her it sounded like going for a new car and getting the options first!!! Sounded like a salesmen instead of a dentist!!! She came out of the office after almost 2 HOURS with nothing done except a selling conference, still in pain, still infection maybe and by the way she wasn't asking for any meds, she can't take alot of the pain meds because of allergy to them, but maybe some relief of some kind and maybe some antibiotics in case of infection but all she got was some one who has lost the real reason for becoming a dentist and has turned into a "salesman". Please if anyone has a dental problem find someone that cares about people, there are those that still exist. What a rip-off!!!

Billing
This is the SECOND time we've had a problem with them. Went for a routine cleaning (which is covered 100%), on my insurance on May 1, 2010. Received a bill for $90.00 today, June 4, 2010. Called immediately and told by Lynette that she would contact corporate to resubmit this... called my insurance to find out that this was NEVER filed with them to begin with. As I stated, this is the second time this has happened. Called Lynette back, just to inform her that a claim for this was never filed...her attitude was very unprofessional and rude. I would like a telephone number for corporate customer complaints. They have had their last shot at me. I have a philosophy that the first time is an accident...the second time is on purpose. Please advise to:

dental work
worst experience ever!
I never minded going to the dentist. now on the other hand, after all I've been through with Aspen Dental. It's a long story, gonna make it short.
I've been to Aspen Dental 7 times now, for the same simple filling. and you know what, they are wanting a number 8.
My first apt. the dentist was going to fix a filling on the top left and start the process of 2 crowns on the bottom. starting with the filling, he says "Oops!". I'm like hummmm...that doesn't sound so good. after having pain several times, going back and being checked and having this and that done 3x's, (on the same filled tooth) I suggested looking at the before and after x rays. (still wondering if the Oops had something to do with my pain)
Sure enough, the oops was a chipped tooth. I even asked the office manager, Cindy, if the dentist accidentally chipped my tooth, would he say anything. "OOHHH sure he would".
the next visit, #4 visit was for the filling the first dentist filled and didn't remove all the decay, #5 I believe, they fix the chipped tooth. #6 visit, they ground down a "ledge" from the previous filling, #7 or 8 will be another filling for the 3rd time in the very first filling.
I'm wondering, is there anyone in their right mind, who really wants to take this chance with Aspen Dental?
