Misdiagnosed and charged for services not needed or provided
I went to aspen dental in NH for a cleaning and checkup. It was the only place in town that took my insurance.
After several visits and a couple of fillings (that have needed to be replaced since due to decay beneath) and correction of one of the fillings that was too high and giving me migraines, they determined that I had advanced gum disease because after seeing them for a year they never did a cleaning.
Now they wanted to do a deep cleaning that was going to cost several thousand dollars, the first stage of which was approximately $1800. The hygienist actually apologized saying it was their fault for not giving me a cleaning earlier.
After being coerced to apply for a care credit card they charged me for treatments that had not been done. When I asked them to removed them they refused. I was then informed that I needed to pay for the several visits of treatment before they were scheduled, and was advised "that's how we do it".
These treatments have never been done and I have since moved back to NY and have never been able to get them removed.

Rip off
I went to Aspen Dental for an emergency treatment (bridge reattachment)and the dental tech immediately dragged me into the x-ray room even though I kept insisting I did not want x-rays taken. She kept saying - "go ahead, they're free". After the procedure I was was told by the sleazy Office Manager that my insurance would not pay for the service, so I had to pay up front. I agreed, because I really had no choice. Then they tried to bill me for the x-rays as well.
Imagine my surprise when I got my insurance benefits statement and found they had submitted the claim, and been paid by my insurance company, but were still billing me at the higher non-provider rate. Called to complain, was told they'd call me right back, still waiting.

Poor customer service, poor work
I want to let the people at Aspen Dental how dissatisfied I am with the service I have received in the past months. I had 4 teeth pulled and went through the whole procedure to receive a partial denture. In order for me to do this I had to apply for a credit care called Care Credit. I was told that it would cost me $3475.00. I was approved for that amount and the bill was paid. I then was told that I would have to wait at least three months to receive the permanent partial which I did wearing the temporary partial. At each visit I was told to make appointments within the time frame I was told but I could never get an appointment. The appointments were far in between. So my three months of waiting has turned into 6 months. Not to mention that on two occasions I was called to change my appointment due to the doctor not being there or that my dentures had not been delivered. Again this prolonged me in receiving my denture. On May 17, 2010 my appointment was at 4p.m., I waited for over half hour to be seen but before I was seen I was approached by the receptionist and she informed me that I had a balance of $647.00 that was due and if not paid, I would not receive my denture. I informed the receptionist that my bill had been paid in full and she continued to disagree with me. This woman had no clue or knowledge of her job and failed to look further through my chart which the manager pointed out to her that in fact my bill was paid in full. However, this did not stop here. Once I brought back to be seen by the doctor, it was a different doctor that has never seen me before. They put the new permanent denture in my mouth and it did fit properly but I knew that adjustments would need to be done, but then she handed me the mirror and to my surprise, the one tooth was a completely different shade than my natural teeth, and the tooth was half the size. Now I never have a college to become a dentist, but how in the hell can u screw this up. The number shade that was chosen for the partial is a 66 and the shade someone chose for the permanent is a 62. How can this be screwed up. Then the doctor tried to convince that it looked it great. That is when I refused the denture and demanded that I get new one made. They did not like it and did not want to hear that. I told them I am not going to be paying almost 3500.00 for something that did not fit, did not look natural. Now I have to another 2 weeks for an appointment when I was told to come back in 4 days. I have to go through another bite fitting, and god knows what else. In the meantime, I have been paying on this credit card and I still have yet to receive my denture. I would never recommend this dental office to anyone.

Money scam
All they are concerned about is pulling teeth and removing old fillings.
They wanted to pull 10 of my son's teeth without even trying to fill any cavities. Then when it was my turn they xrayed my mouth. I am not a dentist but I have seen my xrays before and I don't know how anyone could see a cavity from the messy xrays they had. The dentist only was with me for less than 5 minuets and told me to see the manager, who tells me that all of my old fillings have to come out and I will need caps on all of my teeth. When I said I wasn't going for any of that he then told me I have a dental desease. The dentist or what ever he was never said a word to me about that. All they wanted was to make $20, 000. from my son and myself.

took forever familar stories
After filing out 4 pages of paperwork even before talking about expense., first thing was a sign on the window saying dentures at 249.00...after about 3/4 of a hour, we mention the price on the window and she said we would get them at that price..original price was 399.00 after another hour goes by...they take free x-rays of my 5 teeth that are left..then another hour goes by and finally called in to the dentist...another hour goes by...meanwhile I still have infected lower tooth that they would not pull...he finally checks me and then recommends denture...after that I now get to meet the office manager with the new price...1368 dollars for the lower denture...crap I say after she included a 30 percent discount...finally we got out of their and I will never go back to a company that uses tactics like this...fortunately my son was their to witness this...what kind of crap is this.a scam for sure...

Aspen Dental Latham
I've never had such a disappointing dental visit in my life until I tried Apen Dental. As a first visit, I have always had a cleaning and then a dental examination. I had a 4pm appointment and was not seen until 5pm and it was a 10 minute check from the dentist never having had a cleaning!! I did not have x-rays taken since my former dentist did so 7 months prior. TODAY I received my insurance claim showing that xrays were taken on 4/15!! And that I owe them over $100 for non-existent x-rays!!! This is PREPOSTEROUS! This 10 minute glance at my teeth now costs over $500!!! Now I need to waste more valuable time letting my two insurance companies know of this falsified insurance claim from Aspen Dental and how they need to somehow be reimbursed. The dentist himself brought my paperwork to the cashier and they checked me out. (which seemed strange, normally a dentist is too occupied to do the financial paperwork). I know my family and friends will never utilize Aspen Dental again.

Fraud
To all Aspen Dental patients...I would like to apologize for my short stint as office manager. I quit after allowing my Regional Manager to bully me into falsifying treatment plans and overcharging customers and insurance companies. With the job market the way it is, I was afraid to lose my job. However, after many sleepless nights, I walked out. I totally admit that my office was involved in fraudulent treatment and falsifying health records. As for my part, I did the least fraudulent things I could and as a result was written up a few times because my manager wanted me out. My manager told me that I was too compassionate and too soft because I refused to ram treatment down patients throats. I now sleep well and have made my restitution with God.

Poor Service
We started using Aspen Dental in the spring of 2009, after we relocated to Indiana in the fall of 2008. I haven't had one good visit from 2008 and present. The employees don't really care if you wait an excessive amount of time. There is no communication between the client and the personnel. The receptionist would rather eat than familiarize herself with the clients. I've had to handle the communication between my insurance company and Aspen. Never can I remember a time that I haven't had to call up and 'scold' someone regarding my bills. All cleanings and routine x-rays are covered, yet I get a bill and have to make calls every time we've had them perform a service. So, now that a new dental office has opened in my area that handles my insurance, we have made the choice to move, yet again. Anyone that is looking for a dental provider stay CLEAR of Aspen Dental. You will have more headaches, or toothaches, respectively than you will want to take on. Contact your insurance company to get a list of their approved, in-network, dental providers. And, if they deal with Aspen, turn them on to this site and others that have multiple listings of complaints against this company. Don't bother complaining to the corporate office. You won't get anywhere.

Dentures
I purchased dentures from these people and got a giant rip-off. I requested they pull all my teeth they left 5 lower ones. I knew they were bad and I wanted them out. They convinced me that leaving them in would help secure the bottom plate. I cannot wear the bottom plate at all. They then told me that the teeth they had left in needed work. over I paid them over $8000.00 for 2 sets of dentures, they sent me a bill for $800.00 to fix those stupid teeth. I never received the 2nd pair ofdentures I want some of my money back. I'm afraid to go back there, they will probably charge me $1, 000.00 for sitting in the lobby.
