Aspen Dental Reviews

teeth that still do not fit
My father is 92 years old and he still can wear his teeth and it has been three years. First, when they pulled them the chard bone and that made blisters on his gums but the only thing they did was file down the teeth. He went back each and every Monday for about six months and he still can't wear them. He finally went to a dentist in his home town and they removed the bone and he can now wear them short periods of time becaus they do not fit. He has called them and they told him that they can't do anything. From all the different visits he must have close to $5000.00 invested in something he can wear. He is not from the town that Aspen Dental is in and he can't drive that far so he has to make arrangements for rides because he has no family close to him to transport him back and forth. Not only has it been hard on him but he has to beg people for rides and that shouldn't be for someone 92 years old. He should be enjoying his teeth and not worrying about how much his mouth hurts all the time.

Incompetency and deceptive advertising
Oh where to begin. Three months ago I had to have my teeth yanked out (what happens when you don't brush folks) by a local surgeon. So today I went into Aspen Dental for an consultation appointment. I saw this nice $249 deal for both upper and lower sets. Come to find out, this is a lie. Its actually $249 for upper and lower each. So costing me around $580 from what they told me. Deceptive advertising right there.

My appointment was at 11:15am, I wasn't seen until quarter after 12pm. I went up to the receptionist twice, and she was very rude and told me to either wait my turn or leave. My patience was running thin, but I kept the best cheerful mood I could keep. They finally saw me and took me into the back and did X-Rays. Which weren't really needed at all. My teeth were already pulled previously. Then they put me in a room and I waited 30 minutes for someone to come in and check my mouth. They said I had some sort of yeast infection in my mouth and it would cost $75 for the antibiotic. I then finally get with the consultant man, and he tells me quite the opposite. That my health insurance (Medicade) would cover the antibiotic and it would cost me nothing.

Then he tells me that I was mistaken about the $249 deal. Even on their website it states "249 for both upper and lower" not each, full set of dentures for $249. They tell me they wont write me a prescrip for the antibiotic, they'll just call it in. So I leave for my pharmacist and I come to find out they never called them. Forgot about the prescrip. That's incompetency at its finest right there. My grandmother was with me and she even agreed these people were not the brightest light bulbs in the bunch.

I read previous reviews about Aspen Dental, and I have to agree with the reviews here and on other sites. I wont be getting my dentures through them, I'll get them through someone more reliable and intelligent. These people are so stupid, they actually have a coffee area with instructions on how to pour a cup of coffee.

Stay away from them. They are only in it for your money, and they don't care how much you make. I told them I'm on a limited income and kept trying to get me into the highest priced denture set which would have been $3000. They told me they don't start making impressions, until you have already paid for your dentures. Meaning when you have paid whatever amount they specify you must pay. So if you do a 18 month payment plan with them, like they wanted me to, you'll be making payments for 18 months, after that plan is ended, then you'll start to get impressions. Impression appointments range in the $150 - $300 range.

Fraud, false advertising, incompetence. These people are bad. Stay away.

Ruined my teeth
The Aspen Dental I went to was located on Silver Spring drive on Milwaukee, WI. Do Not Go To Any Aspen Dental.. Rip Off!!! -- Very Unprofessional -- Took Dental Asst. 5x to take an Ex-ray.. office help was standing around gossipping about each other... ..

When I made the appt. I was going for a 2nd opinion and ended up with a 900.00 bill and my teeth hurt more now than when I walked in the door.

A crown was replaced and 3 mos later I still cannot chew on that side of my mouth and 4 "fillings" were done -- rather a recession problem that was drilled out and filled with bondings.. those bondings hurt more that the recession did.. SCREAM!! If I could sue this Co. I would for a million dollars.. my teeth hurt evertime I eat cold, hot or sweet food..

A dentist I finally got to help me said they were a fly by night co

and they offer the financing through Care Credit to keep them for getting sued!!

Poor work ethics
I recently visited the Aspen Dental In Bourbonnais IL. I waited in the waiting room for a very long period of time. I was shocked at how there seemed to be very little work going on in the front portion of the office. The receptionist and some other office member were sitting around up front talking and painting their nails, I thought I was supposed to be In a dentist office not a nail salon! When I asked how much longer it would be till I would be seen for my appointment the receptionist could not give me a firm answer. Just said it should not be too much longer! I was not happy with the office service at all but was happy with the work of the dental staff in back that was actually working on me. I probably wont be returning to Aspen Dental!

Bad service
My first appointment with Aspen Dental (Harrisburg, PA) was for x-ray and exam which they advertise to be free but at wasn't. The next appointment I found a different dentist, and in a 6 month period I saw 5 different dentists, some of them needed their assistants to tell them what to do.

Every time I receive the explanation of benefit from my insurance they tell me the charge was too much for the service.

After I finally went to another dentist, he told me that the crown they have put for me was wrong, and he showed me that on the x-ray, I actually still feel pain from that crown.

Finally I found out that they sent my name to a collection agent for unpaid pill, and I'm sure I paid all pills.

Bad service
I had an appointment with Aspen Dental's Lakeland office in Florida and was immediately alarmed by their transparent motive to maximize their profits! I have had regular dental visits since I was a child and pride myself in getting regular cleanings; however, with my recent move to Florida I have allowed two years to lapse since my last cleaning. So needless to say, I was looking forward to finally resuming my regular visits to the dentist. The first clue I had that Aspen was more interested in my wallet than my teeth was that even after I denied the oral cancer screening (since I am not at risk) the dentist still recommended it in my "treatment plan". She stated that it was covered by my insurance anyway so it would be no additional cost to me. I was also told that I had early periodontal disease. I told the hygienist that I was "shocked" and that none of my previous dentists had ever reported my having had gingivitis much less full on periodontal disease. She just wagged her finger and said, "start flossing!" I then was taken back to the business manager's officer wherein I was given an estimate of over 1000 dollars worth of treatment. Coincidentally, none of these treatments were covered by my dental insurance and I was expected to return every 3 months for these treatments. Still amazed by my sudden onset of periodontal disease along with the apparent seriousness of resuming immediate and frequent treatment, I told the business manager that my paying the 1000 dollars was a NEGATIVE and I would appreciate my x rays on my way out the door. One thing I will say about Aspen Dental is that I certainly admire their persistence in the face of losing money as she promptly gave me discounts and removed the oral cancer screening (which by the way was NOT covered by my insurance) and gave me a new estimate of just over 350 dollars! By then the red flags were proudly waving all over the room and I wanted nothing more than to just get out of there! Of course though, Aspen could not let me leave without charging me a so called 50 deductible (which I later called my insurance company and was told that I should not have been charged a deductible since there were no procedures performed - only the x ray and new patient exam). They also tried to make me sign a form with the new estimate stating that I accept the recommended treatment plan. I realized again with open mouthed wonder that the audacity of Aspen had no boundaries! Please do not waste your money and precious time on these money grubbers!!!

dentures
I went to aspen dental to get a full upper denture. at the time they had a special of paying 100 dollars after insurance. they had higher priced dentures that they tried to get me to buy but being on limited income was only able to afford the 100 dollars ones. when i got the dentures they looked like crap. i looked like i had horse teeth. when i said something about them i was told that it was just me. i told them they didn't fit right, i was told that it was my fault, that i didnt hold my jaw right. now the teeth keep falling out. i took them twice to have them fixed and each time they charged me and my insurance. I now have another tooth that keeps falling out. on top of that due to the ill fitting i have pain constantly on my upper gum line where the denture hits. some thing needs to be done about this company.

charged for free x-rays and horrible service
I went to Aspen Dental because I wanted to find a good dentist. Going to Aspen was one of the worse experiences I had. They said they needed to do a full set of x-rays on my mouth even though I told them I had already had x-rays taken. So, they stated the x-rays would be free. Now, I find out that they have submitted a claim to my insurance for the x-rays. Even though because I had just had x-rays done recently, my insurance will not cover it. I am highly upset with Aspen and I want the free x-rays to be exactly that free. I should not have been sent a statement of this.
Along with the above, Aspen also said I needed a ton of work done in my mouth, which I found out today from a trusted dentist that Aspen's diagnosis is completely false. Besides the hygienist forcing instruments into my mouth and causing me pain and being unfamiliar with tools, they also charged us sixty- two dollars for a "cleaning" which was not actually a cleaning. The woman actually just played in my mouth. To be honest, I just want all my money back and want nothing else to do with Aspen ever again in my life.
But for right now, I just want this situation cleared up.

Blackmail dentist
My boy friend worked for Aspen dental as a dentist. He left because he was forced to do things that he was not supposed to

He hated every single minute of it .He says they blackmail their dentists to sell expensive treatments to patients

They are expected to sell $3000-$4000 worth of treatment to every patientthat walks into the door on average and mostly deep cleaning to as many patients as possible

If they don't do it, they would lose their job .

What a shame !! Nobody does anything about it and this comany is growing like crazy and invading the whole world
