Service Unsatisfactory
Mark Schaefer came to do a home inspection for me at 76 McNaughton St. in Welland. The cost was $275.00 (including tax). While I was there he lit up a cigarette and was ashing in the kitchen sink which I thought was totally unprofessional, I also found out after that he was also smoking in there when my agent first arrived. There was cigarette butts in toilet and more ashes in the bathroom sink. He did take me around the house to explain certain things. When all was done he advised me he would go home and write up the report and email it to myself and my agent before end of day. I explained that he would include PICTURES, and also recommendations and included the information that he had advised me. I've included a copy of the report that we received. There is no recommendations, NO pictures. I am getting a grant through Niagara Regional Housing for my downpayment as a first time home owner. They are waiting on a satisfactory report in order to proceed and my deadline is soon approaching and many people are waiting to place an offer on this home. I feel that this service was VERY POOR and I would like to be refunded all or at least half of my $280.00 for such poor service. Please contact me to further discuss. Melanie Aubin. 905-341-2896

Harassing phone calls that wastes my time
I too have been plagued by calls from Asset. Roderick and others have left messages on the answering machine. I called back the number Roderick left and answer is that the call was their mistake and to ignore it. The topper just happened. I answered the phone and a lady identified herself by name and said she represented Asset and that this call would possibly be recorded. She then wanted me to verify myself by name, and to verify my current address. I replied before I would verify anything to any caller out of the blue, I would need to know what Asset meant to me and why she was calling. She replied that she needed to verify with me information before she could reveal the nature of her call. She then proceeded to ask if the birth date she was to say was correct, that all I would need to do is say yes or no. I repeated that I have no intention of verifying anything to her. A catch-22 that I did not fall for. I said I would talk to someone else that might have the authority to give the reason of the call. After listening to an open line for a few seconds, I heard the dial tone. What gives companies the right?
