I have just received a call from Nathan from ASTAR telling me obviously what he and everyone else at Astar are trained to say, that I had won a two week holiday to Florida and the Bahamas for me and three of my friends and family...I just knew it was a scam, He was far too pushy to be genuine and tried to force the issue of me paying with my visa debit card for 15% of the holiday...I said no way! He tried to convince me that he was genuine, thankfully I am sensible enough not to give my card details over the phone to anyone, especially someone / company that I'd never heard of.
I just happened to have my laptop on my knee and put ASTAR in and saw all the complaints that were logged whilst he was still on the phone, I said thanks but no thanks if I were going to book a holiday, I would do it via a reputable company and not one that rips people off and cons everybody.
I just wanted to say thanks to all who had written warnings on here, It eneded our conversation rapidly once I told him that I knew exactly what he was doing...He hung up!
There must be vunerable people out there who will fall for it...PLEASE DON''T EVER GIVE YOUR DETAILS TO ANYONE COLD CALLING.
