Whilst browsing the net a few days ago for information re. music, a sizable flashing square appeared indicating that I had won a prize as the 1 millionth visitor to that particular site. Charming! Proceeded to find out my "prize" to discover that I had won a holiday to the places already documented by others ie. Orlando, Bahamas Cruise etc. Submitted my e-mail, postal address and mobile tel.. Duly got the call this evening, initially from a 'Barbara Atkins' ID2775 announcing four tickets valid for 18 months and dream on details of 7nights in Radisson or Clarion Hotels in Orlando with passes to Disney, Universal Studios and nightspots or 7 days free car-rental. Then, afew days at Fort Lauderdale followed by a luxury cruise (provate stateroom) to Paradise Island with meals and fab. choice of activities on-board. Guaranteed Temp of 70degs plus in sunny Bahamas. And all this because I was a Visacard holder...
Then I was transferred to a 'Charles Keithley' their travel co-ordinator and that's where the sales push started in the effort to get my Visa card number...even gave me his!... in order to get my 998USD for the "15%" acceptance. Finally the "manager" offered a 30-day cooling period to me in which I could cancel this charge but I was dubious and said that if they had a prize to send me they could send it but my card details were sacred. Then I read some of the complaints about Astar...ouch, my earful of claptrap lasted a hot 40 mins, but they terminated the call.
