Junk Netbook
I purchased an ASUS 1005 HA for my wife for Christmas 2009, it worked ok, didn;t set the world on fire but it was first Netbook and I figured I should decrease my expectations. The biggest problem was it keeps dropping internet connection. About 3 months ago it got more frequent and harder to get back online. I called my service providor who stated it may be that we have too many units on the wireless router. I got a MUCH more expensive router but it did not help... about a month ago it looged off and would not get back online. I called ASUS customer support and I was told to F9 and do a full reset... I did this, of course it did not help. I called back again I woas told it probably was a bad reset... again they got me off phone and of course no help. I called back yet again in hopes that someone would tell me that my setting are off or something but instead was told to ship it back and I would get it back in 2 weeks or so. The manner that this news was delivered put me off a bit so I asked for a manager, I was told please hold and after a few mins heard a open line. I called back and again asked for a supervisor I explained that this was a 3rd or 4th call the person made me go through it all again and then after 15 minutes finally was told they would transfer me to a manager.. again open ohone line. So I dialed again and this time was told to hold... a supervisor will take approx 20 mins to answer my call, again an open line. I called back and asked if they had an excallation dept. I was TOLD NO! So I found out where the headquarters were in California. Called them and was told I had to call who I spoke with first.. I said I had many times and had spoken with a supervisor... all of the sudden it was oh then I can transfer you to excallations... It was then I was transfered to Trinity... this person I have come to the conclusion is the ONLY valuable assett in this company... she really is trying to help and I sent the computer to her, it went to her group of techs and I got it back in a couple of days, again it didn't work. Trinity then sent me a prepaid call tag for next day shipment through FEDEX and they took it in again, she was told they had replaced the Motherboard, she relayed that message and I got it back in great time, the next day... I turned it on set it up and again no connection. I looked at the slip that came with the computer it said NPF, they hadn't touched the computer!! Trinity then arranged to replace the computer with a remanufactured computer... at this point I figured as long as it worked ... well I got it, it turned on and went right online.. after about 45 minutes my wife complained that the screen was going dark with lines.. I instructed her to restart it and it came back... It happened again a while later and I took pictures and emailed them to ASUS...did one more rstart and it did not return, just got more lines, but they were more colorful.. I again took pictures and emailed them to Asus. At this point I have well over 16 hours trying to use a computer that should have been right out of the box... I called Trinity and asked that I get a replacement . I stated that my wife has been without her computer for 3 weeks now could they PLEASE giver her a new one, I would call with the tracking number as soon as shipped!! I was told they needed to verify the problems first... I am now MAD!!! After being transfered to dead phone lines and LIED to about repair my honesty is in question???? DO NOT BUY AN ASUS!!! Except for Trinity this company has NO customer service at all!!!
