My wife bought me an ASUS G50V Gaming Republic Laptop about a year and 1/2 ago.
It worked fine until about 2 weeks ago. I went to bed and everything was working as usual.
I woke up 6 hours later and the laptop was dead. No power, no anything. I thought at first maybe the power cord stoped working and then drained my battery and that is why nothing would turn on. I bought a new power cord thinking that might be the problem plugged it in and still nothing. I took the laptop to a computer service center and was told that the motherboard was shot. The tech told me that ASUS is known for this and that because of the cost this wasn't worth fixing. So here I am with a useless laptop that I paid $999.99 for plus tax. I called ASUS and of course got no where with them because their customer service is as useless as their products. So buyer beware if you are thinking about buying an ASUS or Acer computer, don't! It is just not worth losing your money over.
