About a year ago a door-to-door solicitor for AT&T came to my home telling me about the new fiber optic technology that was available through AT&T. I have a photography business and a high speed connection is vital to my business. The salesman promised outstanding and fast service, however, I would have to get a TV/Internet package. He advised me that I would receive two months of free service and that I could cancel at any time. Needless to say the service was ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!! The TV was blurry and the internet service...well lets just say it made dial-up look like a rocket!! I canceled my service and promptly received a bill for $684.00 from AT&T. I phoned their customer service several times until I FINALLY reached someone. I was told I had to return the equipment and the the bill would be taken care of. Within a day I sent out their equipment but then received another bill for $341.00!! Again I called and attempted to straighten the matter...RIGHT!!...I was on the phone for over an hour, put on hold approximately 16 times and spoke to 9 different people!! Of course the final person hung-up on me and I had to start all over!! I haven't been able to contact anyone who seems to know anything about my bill and now have a collections agency after me on behalf of AT&T. Of course I asked if they had a direct number to someone I could talk to and the circumstances of my contract (which I STILL have a copy of). But even the collections agency does not have a call back number for them.

I have since found out that I'm not the only person in this boat but now my credit shows a collection. The salesman has since been terminated for making false promises but AT&T has NO WAY of knowing this since nobody there seems to know where to connect me too. I think I need to get an attorney to write them now that it has damaged my credit rating.

They coming knocking at your door. Tell you what a great service. It sucks, poor Customer Service, it takes up 3 hours to get someone on the phone only to be transfered. It has been a month now and I still can not view any TV programs. They have visited my house on four occasions. One they didn't show up for. Now I am stuck with no TV. The lady on the phone, said she would be happy to give me a credit. I told her if I get a bill I will take them to court. You signed an agreement and they haven't held up there part. In talking with a few other people they are experincing the same issues as myself. On there phone line they make reference to JD Power & Assoicates stating they are a good company. I am not sure that JD wants there name assoicated with a company that is poorly ran. Tech that can't finish a job before they leave. Example, my phone line is still runing across my back yard.
