So in september for my birthday my wife got me the IPHONE 4. I was very happy but then remembered about the initial reason we left AT&T the first time horrible service. So I gave it a chance because we were in upstate new york. but still continued to have horrible service even while i was in DC. so i didnt want to deal with that hassle so i took it back after only 7 days. i was told i was good that they were going to waive the cancellation fee obviously because i returned it well before the 30 day mark and i was only going to be charged for the time i used it. fine no complaint. so about 2 wks went by and i still hadnt recieved a bill so i call and check on it and they say "dont worry about it. you should recieve on in about a wk with the adjustments because im still showing the cancellation fee." so i gave them the benifit of the doubt and went on about my life. its now over 30 days and i get an email from at&t about how i need to call asap because of an issue with my acct. so i call and im informed that i owe $500+ for the iphone that they had no record i returned, the cancellation fee which was supposed to be waived, and a full months bill which i was told i wouldnt be charged. and to top it off they said that my account has been past due for about 30 days and was about to be sent to collections. im in the middle of trying to buy my first house and now im in danger of not qualifying because of something that isnt my fault and didnt really have any control over. and the customer service is so horrible there that they cant even fully comprehend how them sending me to collections because of thier error could jepordize my chances of buying my first house. so they offer no solutions other then they will note the acct and somebody would contact me within 48 hrs.
