i have read all the complaints about att. and have posted one myself. i dont doubt any of the bad things about them. i finally emailed my senator in raleigh about my att probs. her office responded within 24 hrs and had an att big wheel call me. if you live in the southeast you might want to try this guy.
he is jim torman...704 417 2770...located in charlotte, n.c. to give credit where it is due, he handled all maters for me in less than 48 hrs. i found him very polite and helpfull. but mind you i did call him everyday and check up on the progress. and the senators office was an obvious aid to me. my point is dont take no for answer, put on the pressure and stay pissed off til you get results.

no service
When we moved into our new home, AT&T had sent the equipment ahead as ordered. So far so good. Using TWO cell phones daily (maxed them both out daily) for 11 days we established that (1) AT&T could not tell me why I couldn't get the modem to work - and (2) could not get me just a land-line in the meantime. I had a list of 17 people I talked with, hours spent being sent from one dept to another, etc. etc. I finally returned the equipment to AT&T after ComCast hooked me up to both Internet and phone in ONE AFTERNOON. Now AT&T is trying to charge me for over $100!!! HA!!!

DSL Service
Drops service 10+ everyday. At the onset adjusted router settings that should have been set as default in the first place. Worked well for a week now drops are nearly constant. Awful service

unexplained charges
I switched my service provider to AT&T because of a better deal. Phone and high speed internet for 50.00 Just a little less than I was paying, so i took the deal. It took two weeks to get my internet running because they sent the wrong modem. They gave me like a 4.00 credit. I got my first bill that 50.00 turned into 185.00. So I called and ask what the heck and was told oh you had this charge and that charge, All calls recorded right check out my call and they would know I was never told about any extrz charges. BUT I HAD TO PAY THEM. I paid my up frond deposit with my credit card so the enrolled me in a plan to debit my bank account on a time when I knew the money would not be there again I did not tell anyone they could debit my account. They said oh if you have internet you have to be set up like that. Another thing I should have been told up front. Then they set me up on 30 of the month, this past month they ran it on the 27th. I called again and was told oh we can run in when we want. I hate att. I cancelled my internet so they could not draft me so then my bill would also be cheaper right 129.00 restore fee I CANCELLED. ANY HELP FOR ME
and still got charged23.00 for internet that i CANCELLED.

Worst Service Provider
I am an AT&T stockholder (soon to be former). As a stock holder I cannot believe the caviler nature and lack of respect AT&T has towards their customers. Initially when I signed up for U-Verse I encouraged four other to sign up. All have since left. I became the lone hold-out because I was a stock holder.

The problems we have encountered are too numerous to mention. We have never been able to watch more than one HD TV at a time without interrupting the initial HD service switching it to regular TV. When we initially signed up AT&T was offering a free wiring to encourage us to switch. When the Technician came out he convinced us to keep our 28-year old wiring, to avoid him having to install new. Since then we have had poor reception on to TV’s and to correct this problem we would now have to pay to have a wiring done (existing customers do not get this privilege).

A Ms. Ross from retention told me today that if we did not like the fact that we could only watch one channel at a time, she would happily assist in the termination of our service. No, attempt was made to improve the quality of the service they had rendered or to find a solution to our problem. Wow!

Before getting to Ms. Ross, I had asked for a Manager to contact me regarding our problem, and was promised one would call back. Six days later, I had to initiate a call again.

I would recommend anyone considering AT&T U-Verse, stay far away, and consider other providers. I hate that I will now have to notify everyone in my network, that I have a new e-mail address.

UN SPOKEN HIDDEN PRICES VERY POOR SERVICE
THEY LIE ABOUT THE START UP CHARGES, AND THE CONNECTION IS WORSE THAN DIAL-UP...EXTRAMELY WORSE...I REPORTED AT THE LEAST 500 TIMES TO MICROSOFT WINDOWS...SAME ANSWER (CONTACT YOUR INTERNET PROVIDER)..THE FIRST BILL WAS $150.00 more than I agreed on!! THEY COMPLETLY LIED ABOUT TH COST!!!THERE ARE COMPLAINTS FROM COAST TO COAST!!

Uverse Internet and Home Phone
I cannot express my extreme dissatisfaction with AT&T!!! I am so angry with them that I really can't even talk about it!!! If I could sue them for everything they are worth, I would!!! Not even for the money, but for them to GO OUT OF BUSINESS!!!
Long story short. I have always been quite dissatisfied with AT&T and was about to get rid of them and go with TIME WARNER (ROAD RUNNER) when AT&T told me about their Uverse phone and Internet "upgrade". I decided to try it and I regret that I even decided to do so. I have had the worst service since then. My internet connection fails approximately 3 or 4 times a day. My phone service went from unlimited in town calls to only 250 minutes. Most of my fricken minutes have been spent dealing with AT&T!!! They charge me whatever they feel like pulling out of their rear at any given moment!! I can't even try to pay my bill online because their internet site is down all the time, but they deny it. I'm done!!! Everyone else should just drop their service and go with whatever else is available in their state!! AT&T DESERVES TO GO OUT OF BUSINESS!!! I HOPE TO GOD THEY DO!!!

U VERSE
Problems with U verse sense day 2
About 80 days of service now
5 days without u verse tv (on just this last problem)
5 different service appointments not one was kept on time. Not even a phone call.Four were never kept at all
Countless number of times Tec. support had to be called
Want a good screwing sign up with AT&T U Verse
Never will AT&T be back in my home I will do with out first

UVERSE
1. You do not get fiber in your house in most cases. I was led to believe you did.
2. I have had U verse in my house for about 3 months. It has been down about as much as it has been up. For 3 Months of bad service $15.00 credit
3. Called U verse with a complaint Friday July 08 2011 about 11:00 pm. An appointment was made for Sunday between 12:00 Pm and 4:00 Pm no show, no phone call, nothing. I called again after 4:00 Pm Sunday to find out why their answer was The Tec. forgot to post it.Another appointment was made for Monday July 11 2011 Another No Show, No Call or anything AT&T did not have a reason this time.Another Appointment was made for Tuesday between 12:00 Pm and 4:00 Pm. Yep you guessed it No show at 4:00 Pm Called back and the lady at AT&T told me they were running late a tec. would be here no later than 5:00 Pm Tec showed up at 5:30 Pm
If this is not sorry service, someone tell me what is
I am thinking about entering a class action against AT&T.
Anyone else interested?

MISSED CALLES
Had several people tried to call me and got a "phone # has been disconnected and in no longer in service" (and yes the bill has been paid) for a period of time and after talking to 5 people, and 45 mins got a "tech" person who could not eve register a complete because it was not happening now, didn't have a clue as to what was going on
