poor service
Had my home phone and internet services installed by tech June 6, 2011 by technician. After 2 days I found out that I was not able to call out of state. After talking to the costumer service on June 8, 2011, I was assured I will be able to access long distance that night after I agreed to pay additional &5.00 for the long distance service access. To my dismay, when I tried calling out of state on June 10, 2011 did I find out that I still do not have a long distance access. Now I won't be able to call for another 3 days as online service was unavailable when I logged on and that customer service is close over the weekend. These are one of the bad experiences I have encountered with AT&T rep.
One bad experience was last May 20, 2011, AT&T is supposed to have my service installed but I found out from the technician who came to the house that the order number is incorrect and the phone number assigned to me was wrong and the address is wrong. It does not make sense that he is in my house and yet his order is different address with wrong phone number and order. I have received a confirmation of the said service in the mail which I showed the technician. He, the technician has advised me that I should cancel the order as this can create problem in the future. So he had cancelled the order .
That is what we call very poor customer service.

Cancellation Policy
I moved and had to change my service since Verizon FiOS is not offered in my new area. I found a package deal that seemed to meet my needs. While everything was installed/turned on at the date/time requested the DSL was not. I received the do it yourself install kit 5 days later and got it working. It was not what I expected and decided to cancel the DSL and move to a cable internet provider to get my speeds up to a reasonable level. When I tried to remove it from my account (17 days after it was started) I was told I could not and would have to pay for the entire year. While I did not recall that part of the TOS I was flabergasted. The CSRwas somewhat rude and told me it was my fault if I didn't understand the TOS and not hers and that there was nothing I could do. Well, not having the TOS with me I stated to the CSR that was an unfair business practice. Especially since I didn't have the service ontime. She then told me it not AT&Ts fault that I didn't understand it. I agree, I should have ready the many pages prior to clicking "yes." Anyhow, I asked for a supervisor and she told me one would call within 48 hours but that there was nothing else she could or would do. I am completely floored at the caliber or what AT&T calls service professionals. Well, while I am still waiting for call from the supervisor I found the most recent TOS and discovered that I can cancel my DSL service but I may incur an early termination fee. While I thought that kicked in after 30 days of service I am okay with paying an additional month or two for termianting my service but not an entire year. Besides their 6Mb DSL being extremely poor the service received and the "It's your own damn fault" attitude I got from the customer service rep I will never recommend AT&T Internet to any friends or business I work with.

AT&T caused the charges
AT&T was told to shut phone down and not allow long distance phone calls in the house where I am not living; but am hanging onto phone number. They did not do this. When someone made long distance phone calls, they want me to accept responsibility for them. I won't. I did not make the calls and it was AT&T's responsibility to shut the phone down from the capability. How does that make me responsible in any way? It doesn't. I will never accept that debt. After months of talking to me, they told me they would take care of it...for me not to worry about it...then, I get the letter from Bay Area Credit Service. I AM STILL NOT GOING TO PAY A BILL THAT I DID NOT MAKE.

Phone line
Worst service ever, AT&T works with U-verse but they do not communicate. They switch my phone number, gave me a temporary one for four days and tell me that my phone bounced to AT&T a week later. After I called and was on hold forEVER, (I had time to do the dishes, make three beds and cook!) … No one gave me a solution they wanted me to wait one more week! … Are they playing with customers? My U_Verse account had also changed the pasword itself? :(
Customer service is horrible, no respect, they keep passing “the hot potato” from one to another SO unprofessional! I am SO disappointed and Still waiting! I want to switch to another company! I am tired of dealing with people that do not listening and couldn’t care less about your situation. I WANT/NEED MY PHONE BACK!!! more details: [email protected] or [email protected]
I would recommend to record them so at least you have proof of what you said

CUT SERVICE TO MY PHONe
Any AT&T customers had this problem?
3 weeks ago ATT started disabling the keypad on my V3xx.When it has an unregistered sim card it works fine. All I could do was answer calls by flipping open. 3 mos. from all (4) of my contracts ending. Got 2 other phones in last 2 yrs & wound up going back to V3xx due to reception where I live.
I love my new Blackberry, but still feel a little duped and forced into buying new phone and new 2 yr contract.

false charges
In February of 2010, they have me getting a phone order from them. I got one with Comcast. A few months later when Comcast pulled some of its junk, I went to AT&T (these two have my area) and they billed me twice monthly, claiming I had a phone since February, had two different bills going, and are still trying to collect. Trying to ruin my credit - all their supposed billions and they're worried about a low-income senior?

terrible answering service
I have been trying to talk to someone from your company and have been on hold for 35 minutes. It is a disgrace. I would like a breakdown of my bill for $37.59 for 954-748-9543.
